Back in the day, Nick's Tomatoe Pie was the jam. We kept hearing about Nick and Johnny's, the spiritual successor. Same recipes. Same sauces. Sarah suggested we give it a shot tonight. We sat down at the bar where there were eight or so patrons. The dining room was sparse. No concerns. It's a Tuesday night. Probably just slow. Sarah noted the place didn't smell like an Italian restaurant. Bar tender asked what we'd like. Said it was our first visit and we'd like a dinner menu and a drink menu. I was quickly scolded: they didn't have a cocktail menu but they did have a full bar and to just order what we wanted. Got it. I'll have a mezcal old fashioned. 'We're an Italian restaurant, we don't have mezcal' she explained, going on to say they don't have tequilas either. 'How about a regular old fashioned?' Fair enough. An old fashioned, please. As soon as she grabbed a pack of sugar, ripped it open and dumped it into the glass, I knew we were in trouble. On top the sugar, she added a maraschino cherry and half an orange. After a scoop of ice, my drink was served. $15. Okay. I guess. Expectations falling. Sarah ordered a gin and tonic. Bartender complained about their limes, calling them trash as she was squeezing them into Sarah's drink. Right in front of us. We were sitting next to the service bar and an espresso martini was sent back. 'Strong' was the best description Sarah could apply to her drink. Maybe the food is great. We didn't stick around to find out. Between the cocktails and the vibe, I can't imagine us going back. Ended up at Thirsty Turtle instead. read more

I'll start by saying, we visited because the owner used to have our favorite restaurant in Jupiter many years ago, Nick's Tomato Pie. The visit tonight had no resemblance to the previous restaurant. The service was extremely slow and it appeared three servers were waiting on the entire restaurant. We sat with menus for a solid 15 minutes before a server approached to take our drink order. 10 minutes later the drinks came, iced tea and water. 15 minutes after the drinks, she came to take our order. The food was mediocre at best. The potato's on my sausage and peppers dish were cold. Clearly this restaurant was understaffed and most of the food was underwhelming. The best part was the ice cream covered in a chocolate shell, delicious. The menu had a price of 36.99 for the NY Strip Au Poivre yet the check had a price of 49.99! Clearly none of the qualities of the old NTP carried over to this location. Very disappointed. Two stars, one for the dessert and one for a server who saw we were struggling with ours and pitched in to help towards the end of our $182.00 meal. read more

What can I say about Doo Woo Night at Nick & Johnny's. Joey and the Paradons were amazing. The dining room was turned into an intimate club complete with bandstand and dance floor, which was always crowded. The dinner show menu, which was abridged, offered all the classic southern Italian dishes you could want. For appetizers we had the shrimp cocktail, perfectly cooked with just the right amount of cocktail sauce. The mushrooms were stuffed with sausage and no fillers. The mussels marinara were delicious. Your choice of soup or salad was next. We all chose the salad which was crisp and fresh. For the main course we chose chicken franchise, lightly crusted and generously sauced. The chicken parmesan almost disappeared before I could get a picture. The chicken marsala had tender pieces of chicken with plenty of mushrooms and a lovely sauce. We had the greatest thin and crispy pizza last week with one of their always-fresh salads with fantastic house creamy Italian dressing. Excellent as always. We love Nick & Johnny's nice atmosphere (we always sit on the side with the bar), amazing staff, great drinks, and some of the best Italian food in the Juno/Jupiter area. Chicken piccata over penne pasta will be my next-time order! The lasagna is fabulous which my husband plans on having. We have always had good food and service at N&J, and have been going there since it opened in Loggerhead Plaza. Check it out! read more

This would be a 3 1/2 star review. But you don't get that option. So to err on the side of caution, I gave N&J's a 4. The service was excellent. My husband had the bolognese. A solid 4. I had the linguine with clam sauce. A 3 1/2. The salad that came with our entrees was very run of the mill. The cocktails (grapefruit martinis) were good. But nothing special. We might return to try the pizza. But there are so many great Italian restaurants in the area. read more

Great food. So so service. They seem to have their favorites, whom they reserve seats for. The rest of us get stuck in the booth next to the smelly bathrooms, despite reservations. Not sure why they don't fix the plumbing issues. Smells like sewage-always!! If you ask to move, the staff rolls their eyes and makes a huge deal. Very uncomfortable! We spend a lot and tip a lot. We never complain or send anything back. Just don't like smelling sewage from our seat. Not sure why they don't value ALL of their customers. I've read the responses to so/so reviews after I posted mine. They are defensive, offensive, and rude. Just like your behavior towards your customers. Not going back. * lol. Just got a response AND IF COURSE WE WERE BLAMED FOR NOT CHOOSING THE EXACT BOOTH WE WANT though we have SPECIFIED "away from the bathroom". Owner says no one has complained about the bathroom smell. Well I am, and I have. You'd think he'd at least say, "I'm looking into it". Maybe it's time for the health department to visit? WHAT HAPPENED to "the customer is always right?" We had great service, a good dinner and live music. We chose to sit in a bar booth so it was noisy, but that's to be expected. There were also some booths available in the dining room that would likely be quieter when the live band is playing. The atmosphere is nice. Clean. Welcoming. I had chicken Marsala, but first served with warm bread and roasted garlic dipping sauce. Also chose a dinner salad with house dressing. Excellent. My husband had the chicken picată special with capers, artichoke and mushroom sauce. He chose pasta fagioli soup rather than salad. It was also very good. My family and I went here last night for the first and last time. Our waitress was rude . The food is so overpriced for the quality. Most of it having no flavor. My mom sent hers back and the waitress was not happy about it. No apology of course. Then at 8:40 they turned off the air conditioning as well as the music so we have no choice but to put our stuff in to go boxes and leave . Not a good place for Mothers Day. We had a party of 4 Saturday night 7pm resv we sat for 10 mins before our server put bread on our table with their oil and garlic accompaniment only prob there was no oil. We asked a girl who was setting a nearby table to bring us more oil since our server was nowhere to be found but she didn't. When I server did come back she was very gruff and condescending. THAT'S A spicy meataball. Went to early bird 4:30 to 6pm. Menu had at least 20 Choices. ( you must buy a drink to get EB). We all started with the bread, garlic oil w/ spices, real butter, yum. Then a salad with olives, toms nice assortment of greens & cukies. Dressing balsamic vinaigrette. Wife- chicken marsella green beans. Made well, tasty just the right size for a lady. Company veal & chicken parm, nice portions with ziti. They said it was delightful. I had the chicken Florentino. Spinach tom, cheese, perfect cooked meat. The meal is great. Authentic, Italian dining at its best! The bread is sooooo good, it is hard to not fill yourself up on. It comes straight out of the oven served with garlic olive oil for dipping. My kids had the pizza (fyi pizza is inly served on the lounge side), spaghetti and meatballs, Italian wedding soup. I tried the chicken francese and side caesar. It came with capers, artichokes, and mushrooms..... love that lemon flavor! Portions are rather large so we brought some back and it was just as delicious reheated. Food: don't get the Calamari they over fry it. Zuppa de pes was good. Lobster and seafood a little chewy. The Gnocchi was very good. Warm bread with oil and garlic was nice. They automatically brought butter. The salad was average. Their dressing made up for it. Service: we took the time to make a reservation. When we got there, there was a line out the door, even though they knew we had a reservation we had to wait. When we finally got inside we were not welcomed by the young man. He was going to seat us in the bar area for pizza and was very dark, no table clothes. We didn't go there to have pizza. We wanted a nice dinner. The lady finally worked it out for us to sit in the other room at a table that was reserved for 7 pm. Most of the tables had reservation signs on them. We couldn't figure out why there wasn't one for us. The place could use updating and a good cleaning. In the ladies bathroom the one stall the door didn't lock. The other I had to lean on the divider to get the door to close and lock. The man at the door when we left didn't even acknowledge us, or thank us. Needless to say we won't be back. read more

We had one of our favorite dinners the other night at Nick and Johnnys Osteria. I had the chicken Scarpariello which was the best I'd had in any Italian eatery. My partner had the chicken Francais with which she was equally pleased. Even the house salad was pretty good for a restaurant. They even had my favorite wine, Meiomi Pinot noir and the service was prompt and unobtrusive. I had been told by a friend to ignore this place. Glad I disobeyed her. read more

Terry our waitress was kind and really patient with my special needs teenager. She recommended the tomato basil bisque and it was delicious. The homemade gnocchi were the best I've had in a really long time. They were soft and pillowy with an awesome sauce. The eggplant rollatini was fantastic. We stopped in for dinner with no reservations and were lucky enough to get a table pretty quickly. We sat on the "pizza" side where pizzas are available as well as the regular menu. Our appetizers were chicken livers and fried ravioli. We have had the chicken livers before. This time they were good but the cooking inconsistent- some of the livers were perfect and others overcooked . The shrimp on the ravioli were cooked to perfection. The pizza was good. We asked for extra crispy crust .....and would have enjoyed it with more crispiness. Service was good. We'll definitely return. read more

Best Italian food in the area! The crab cakes are beyond amazing, chicken rustling, yum! You can't wrong at this place.

The temperature & noise level was great. You could actually carry on a conversation with nice music playing in the background. I had the chicken piccata special with capers, artichokes and mushrooms. It was delicious. My husband had the salmon and he thought it was very good. The meal comes with a salad and the house creamy Italian dressing is to die for. We enjoyed a nice corner table with white linen tablecloth and napkins. The service was excellent and we enjoyed meeting NICK, the owner, and his beautiful wife. Last night, the chef also came to the table and said that next time we should try his crabcakes. This great little restaurant will definitely be on my redial list. read more

Had dinner this evening with my brother & his fiancé. This restaurant has a nice vibe with the NY Italian feel to it. Our hostess was very friendly and provided great service without being too attentive. I had the linguine and white clams sauce. Came with about 1/2 dozen clams on top on a bed of pasta with flavorful sauce with chopped clams & garlic. My brother had the same. His fiancé had the Chicken Marsala w/ side of penne pasta & tomato sauce. Meal looked very good. Price point is upper $20's to $40 for meals per person. Never ever going here again. We've been fairly regular because the food is actually pretty good although inconsistent. Tonight was the last straw though. They have live music a few nights a week and tonight the singer was crazy loud. Another table complained about the excessive loudness and the singer responded by coming over to them and telling them they should've stayed home while shouting that if they didn't like how loud he was he didn't give a cra$. He was beyond rude and when I went to the table to apologize for this insensitive oaf they and all the tables nearby told me I was right. I went to the singer to tell him he owed them an apology and he attacked me viciously even threatening me. And the restaurant staff? Nowhere to be found. So spotty service , inconsistent food, obnoxious entertainment, and rude crude and potentially dangerous singers tells me enough is enough. With so many choices in the area I don't need to be abused all for the occasional decent meal. Stay away or bring air plugs when the music plays and don't dare complain. Found this place on Yelp and had decent reviews so my husband and I decided we wanted to try ordering ahead and getting the food to go (January 18th around 6pm). My husband ordered online (said website wasn't well done) and after entering his card information and submitting the order, he ended up on a blank page. Since he wasn't sure if the order went through (didn't receive an email confirmation), he called. Spoke to a guy who explained the their website is through a third party and sometimes it's problematic. The employee checked the back and confirmed they received my husband's order. My husband arrived at the place, said the environment looked cool and food looked good. But he said staff seemed problematic. He said when he walked in, there was some waitress at the front bitching to another staff member about a customer complaining that their martini was half full. When my husband spoke to a man at the front, they checked the back and said they didn't had his order. Husband explained that he ordered online and that he called to confirm. The employee said that they use a third-party service and can't track order. The way it was said made it seem like it's our fault for ordering through their website. My husband decided not to order and leave since he didn't like the staff member's attitude. Since environment and food looked good, I think we'll try this spot but actually go to sit down and not order out. Will write another review when we go. A recommendation would be to either fix the online order system you have in place through whatever third party or just remove the option to order online and ask customers to call. read more

Janet the long time bartender has got to go. She appears to be efficient at her job but her personality is horrible. No smile, not friendly and really only talks to the old regulars. The food and drinks are ok. We really don't want to watch her slurp her soup behind the bar. We overheard an obvious regular customer mention a suggestion and Janet took it as a criticism and really overreacted and aggressively shot back and said that is not in her area of responsibility, etc. The regular was made to feel uncomfortable and was visibly taken aback. Her manner made us uncomfortable too. We also find it interesting that the owner only replies to the good reviews on this site. Outstanding! We use to make it a point to visit Nicks Tomato Pie whenever we were in the area. When we heard that this had a connection to the original restaurant, we thought we would visit during our visit. The food was just fantastic.
