I felt safe and relaxed with her, and the experience really helped me regain my confidence on a horse. My husband is a much more experienced rider, but he'd been off a horse for about six months and was starting to get a little grumpy without his horse time -- so he definitely needed this ride! It was wonderful that we could both enjoy the experience despite having different levels of riding experience. Summer was a fantastic guide--knowledgeable, relaxed, and genuinely so sweet. She made the whole experience feel comfortable and fun. You can tell there is a lot of love and care behind what they have created at Central Coast Trailrides, from the horses to the people and the overall experience. It was nice to simply relax, turn off my brain, and enjoy the ride without worrying about anything else. My horse had a fun, spunky personality that reminded me so much of my own gelding back home, which made the experience even more special. The trail took us through beautiful rolling hills, vineyards, and areas full of wildlife, making for some incredible scenery. Our guide, Brian, was knowledgeable, friendly, and clearly cared deeply about the horses and their well-being. The ranch also provided thoughtful extras like cold water, sunscreen, and bug spray, which were very appreciated on a warm day. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and I would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing, scenic trail ride with well-cared-for horses.

Our family often goes horse back riding on our local California road trip adventures and this particular experience was by far the best. Often times we have observed our riding guides to have a somewhat tough, rugged demeanor, which is expected of cowboys and cowgirls in order to have a strong command over their horses (and the group they're guiding!). This time, our guide Kayla was so sweet and warm to both the kids and horses alike, and our time with her, although unexpected, really made for an enjoyable experience. Our reservation inquiry over text was answered quickly, and we were accommodated on the same day (not sure if this is standard or unusual for this establishment). I texted back and forth with Vanessa who provided clear directions and detailed payment information. Another positive note was that Paso Robles Pastures also offers riding opportunities for younger riders, 8 years and under. Often times our youngest child has to stay behind but this time he was able to enjoy a ride as well. We were looking to stay in SLO or Paso on our way down to the Oceano Dunes and the prices were insane. So I started to look around and found this treasure off the beaten path.
