Went for happy hour with coworkers. I was a little put off that I had to stand in a long line to get a drink or order food inside. It seems safer to just have staff just take orders at the tables instead of a constant flow of people constantly walking past our tables. Great waitstaff, prompt service and nice beer selection! We came here on a Friday night with a party of four, so I was afraid we'd need to wait, especially given all the cars parked on the grass. We were seated right away though, and our waiter was EXCELLENT. He was so energetic and enthusiastic about the food and happy to make recommendations for beer and entree selections. Our group got the nachos as an appetizer. These are a must-have if you visit! Don't forget to order them topped with the award-winning chili. My man got a cheeseburger, which he enjoyed very much. Our friends got the mac and cheese entrees, which basically looked like a very enjoyable way to experience cardiac arrest. I had the fish and chips, but wasn't particularly impressed--big portion and yummy fries but the fish itself was a bit bland and soggy (hence four instead of five stars). Some other thoughts: Fridays at this place are VERY boisterous, and there is live music on the weekends. We actually left a bit more promptly than we might have because we were seated right in front of the band, and couldn't deal with the strobe lights they threw on towards 9 pm. It was a great place to go with friends, but I would have been frustrated by the loud groups doing shots if I had gone there with the hope of enjoying a meal and conversation. For the most part, I like this place...though nothing about it makes me scream to go here. The food is simple, and usually good. Basic bar food that will not overwhelm you whatsoever. It is edible and won't make you sick either, however. The interior is nice and was redone about 7 or 8 years ago. If there is no band, it is perfect. However, it is fairly small and if there is live entertainment - [parking] and getting inside is an absolute nightmare. I was in there one night for the Savage Brothers...someone, not even in our party, spilled a drink on me, and the bouncers threatened to throw me out!!! I have been here dozens of times, and in fairness, that was a one time incident. They always have plenty of new, different beers and their prices are competitive with anywhere else around. Staff has never been overly friendly, but by no means rude or inattentive. read more

I have been to the Yarde Tavern a few times and it is usually great. I put in a reservation for 7 people around 8pm, I was told it would be half an hour wait. There were plenty of open tables in the dining room but they may have been short staffed. We waited in the bar and after half an hour asked the hostess how much longer it would be, seeing that my cousin brought her infant and came in right as we thought we would be seated. The hostess stated she did not know how much longer it would be. We waited about twenty more minutes and did not hear anything from the hostess so we left. Unfortunately I am not sure if we will be back to dine in because this was a pretty bad experience with no explanation as to why they had so many tables open yet we were not seated. read more

The Yardehouse is not terrible. I like their martinis, particularly the espresso martini. I like the setup of the tv's - it's a good place to grab food and beer and watch football or baseball. I don't really expect more than good bar food there, so if you have higher expectations, I do not recommend this place. I would not recommend much of their food selection. The meatloaf was not very good. The potatoes are okay. I like the fries, but they're average. I've never been there during a live event. I can't imagine that the Yardehouse can fit many people at all, and we see the place the flat-out packed on some Thursdays and weekends. read more

We visited here on a sat night were expecting a party of about 10-12 people. I called on s Thur. to make reservations and was told they don't take reservations but could absolutely accommodate us. We arrived and was told they couldn't. Give out Mr. name and edited . I noticed after a bit they had large table they were using for folding napkins. I asked about that table and was told no. I reminded them their not making any $ on that table line and. 5 min later the manager seated us there. After 10 min the waitress offered us a larger table and we were moved apparently the wait staff wanted their work station back. New table was smaller. High points: Draught beer selection is pretty extensive and very delicious. You can tell they take care of their Draught system unlike some bars I have been to. Atmosphere could be described as cozy and relaxed. Volume was a little loud given that the place was packed full. We did not stay for the band (we went on a Saturday evening around 630) Kettle Chips with the Chipotle aoili are a phenomenal combination for an appetizer! The perogi appetizer with bacon and onions was also a very good choice. Chicken Panini was very good, tasted fresh. Low Points: The Texas Tumbleweed burger was okay. It came with WAY TOO MANY "tumbleweeds" (which are fried onion straws) on it. In fact I had more of those then actual meat between my bun. I did however enjoy the fried jalapeños on it. All in all its a good place to go for a good beer and a decent meal. Would I go there again? Absolutely. read more

We've came many times previous to COVID and were always pleased. I understand COVID has changed everything for restaurants and how they operate, but Yarde needs to put more work into figuring out how they can operate better during this time if they choose to be open. If you sit outside, you don't have a waitress and you need to order both drinks and food inside. This process was chaos and the employees inside were very confused. Not to mention, social distancing was not a thing inside nor was it even possible with the amount of chaos and people standing inside waiting until the employees figured it out. Food was good but some was cold by the time it came outside. I'd recommend choosing another restaurant during this time, there are many others who have figured operating during COVID out. read more

We went for a late lunch and beer. I'll start with the Beer: Great selection of draft beer. I think they were $5.50 a pint (or probably one of those fake 12oz pint glasses) Good mix of local and craft brews. Food: I ordered the pulled pork sandwich which was around $9.50. Came with choice of fries (sweet or reg) coleslaw and something else. The pulled pork was pretty gross. i do not recommend. Super fatty, no real pork inside and drenched with a sweet, low taste sauce. On a kind of ok grinder roll with cheap pickles and their cole slaw. I skipped the bread as it was overpowering and tried to eat the pork, but the chunks of fat and gross in it turned me off. Clam Chowder: seemingly fresh, but super bland. no real taste or flavoring involved. I saw a few Burgers go by which looked good...that may be their sweet spot. Location: Good inside bar area with good seating. def a good drinking spot. The outside patio is nice, however, its pretty much in an industrial area, 10 feet from the road with cement trucks and semi's roaring by. Not the best atmosphere outside but....still outside. Service: pretty good for a mid afternoon. attentive and fast. All in all, good place to drink and eat reasonably priced bar food. i'd go back. read more

My first time was very pleasant & highly enjoyed my food. So my boyfriend & I went one day & he got served the wrong food entirely, they never said their veggie burger was crushed up broccoli. An excellent bar on the edge of town. This place has a nice atmosphere, a diverse drink selection and a great menu. I also went when there was live entertainment and the band was rocking, plus there was no cover on a Friday night. They also serve food until midnight on Fridays. I had a pastrami rueben that was perfectly put together. The pastrami tasted amazing and was rich and flavorful. The sandwich was well put together, was not greasy and was firm enough that it did not fall apart in your hands. I also upgraded to the kettle chips and was very glad that I did. The kettle chips were crispy and tasted like the offspring between a french fry and chip sexual encounter. My companion had the Mediterranean wrap which she was said was great. The french fries were great and very plump. This is definitely a place worth checking out, especially on a night with live music. read more

This was my first time coming here, my boyfriend and I had the calamari as a appetizer it had shredded Parmesan, capers jalapeño and red peppers that was really good. I order a Cobb salad for dinner my lettuce was old and my egg was green I felt bad complaining because my boyfriend had to send back his steak tips because it was smothered in oil and the asparagus was way undercooked. Last night I had two Fish n Chips dinners and it was as if they took the fries and fish right out of the oil and plopped it into the to-go container. Literally just a hop away from my home. I can always count on them to make a mean Rueben and tonight was no exception. My sisters loved their calamari appetizer. Fries and coleslaw were good. All good times. I enjoy coming here to just hang out. Definitely way better than what was here before - fancy shmacy places that never really fit in. Very casual. There are some foods I would not recommend - their wings are not great. And it does look like it can be hard to find parking on some evenings. We just had an AWESOME experience at the Yardehouse! We showed up on a Saturday night with 3 adults and 3 children (2 needing highchairs). The place was PACKED and the wait was going to be longer than we wanted to wait with 3 crazy kiddos. We were just about to leave when the manager came over to stop us. He told us he would figure something out if we really wanted to stay. He ended up pulling over a different table and squeezing us in. We were very comfortable. He even came over in the middle of dinner to make sure we were enjoying ourselves and that the kids were comfortable! My sister is also pregnant (with twins) and was craving their fried pickle appetizer... everyone else thought that sounded gross so she was going to pass. She explained the situation to our server (Nicole) and they ended up doing a small batch of fried pickles for her on the side with her meal! VERY accommodating and food was great. By far the worst restaurant experience I have ever had. Walking in, a few back of the house people were outside smoking cigs, cursing and hawking spit---just nasty. Service was slow, took us a half an hour just to get our drinks. Place got busy as we waited, we were like the table our waitress didnt care about. After my fiance handed her our card, she came back and informed me "I accidentally charged you $180.00 for the table that was sitting here before you." I asked for the manager who was unapologetic, offered no solutions and tried to turn (somehow) the situation into my fault. I'm not one to complain but WOW after 2 hours on the phone disputing this extra transaction all I can say is: Please don't waste your time and energy on this dump. read more

I work in an office building close by and this is definitely the go-to place for tasty, affordable chow. We often have office happy hours here, it's fun, but it's a popular joint so be prepared for it to be loud and standing room only on certain nights. Highly recommend for a casual bite to eat! This isn't a place I'd normally go, as I'm a vegan and there aren't many options on the menu. However, we hosted a party in the side room for a friend's birthday, and I can't say how impressed our entire group was with our waiter. Since we had buffet-style food, he was mostly focused on drinks. Throughout the party, he made several great drink recommendations for both beer and cocktails, was quick, offered samples if we wanted to try before committing to a whole glass, got everyone's order correct, and remembered our preferences. I'm a picky drinker, and every recommendation he made was spot on. Plus, at one point, I ordered what I know is a ridiculous drink: a vodka tonic with "an excessive amount of limes". Now, I like my v + t limey, and anytime I ask for extra limes or an excessive amount of limes, I'm brought maybe one or two extremely thin slices. Brendan promised to get my drink right, and I had to laugh when he came back...there were thick slices covering 3/4 of the glass rim. This guy was incredible! However once we were there our server was great and the food was decent definitely better than an Applebee's or Chili's. I don't like the fact they lie to get you on the door.
