I've been going here for years. Lately, the menu keeps getting smaller. Fewer things to choose from. Portions down, prices up. I leave hungry. They "nickel and dime" you for everything. $1.50 for a small condiment cup of extra salad dressing and $1.50 up charge to grill and not fry the Bang Bang shrimp. Nowhere on the menu are these up charges listed. The bill gives suggested tips which include tipping on the tax. Chocolate sauce and not fudge on desserts. This place used to be great. Came with a couple co-workers on a whim. They were late so I was able to take in the environment. For someone who graduated college with a sport management degree I can see why this is a place you come if you enjoy sports and or betting on sports, TVs all over the place! Definitely needs a renovation and some much needed tlc inside and out though. The Saturday early afternoon crowd was aged. Place was quiet for a sports bar which I'll take after working a twelve hour shift. The main speaker was just loud enough where it was just background noise. Place feels like a casino to some degree without all the pizzazz. While I waiting for everyone to show up I ordered a coffee which tasted like it was brewed and sitting for some time. Once my group showed up we ordered appetizers and our meal. I had a clam chowder, mozzarella sticks and pork bellies were also ordered. I tried a pork belly and it was ok. Same with my chowder, put more pepper in it than normal and clams were chewy. As for our meals, I had fish and chips which I enjoyed. Steak & cheese looked like a mouthful and the patty melt looked as is. Big turn off was the cigarette smokers 5' from the doorway as we were leaving. I have not been to Bobby V's since pre-covid days, and tonight we decided to stop in. I am glad we did! First note, to sit in the main dining area, one has to be 21, so maybe it's not geared to families, but with televisions covering every inch of the walls, it is DEFINITELY for the sports lover! Food was great! The sticky soy wings reminded me of great Korean BBQ and they were meaty, crunchy and well sauced. 10 out of 10. The chicken sandwich and burgers were well sized and prepared perfectly. The chicken patty did not seem like a Sysco pre-made product and was a surprise actually. The winner for dinner was the turkey club. It is not often that a regular sandwich gets me full. There was plenty of meat on this thing to do that! Finally, I have to mention the service. It was a busy night for a Thursday, right before a three day weekend. The bartender with support from maybe two others, had about 15 tables of various size parties, and never skipped a beat. She was on top of refills, food came out hot, plates were cleared at a high level. She was busier than the proverbial "one armed paper hanger" and got me tired just watching her! First time going to Bobby V's. Very spacious venue with TVs galore and off track betting. Seating available at bar or table settings. Appetizers and burgers on the menu. The waitstaff was attentive to serve the wide beverage and snack selections. There is ample parking in front of the entrance. read more

Went here on Saturday of Valentine's Day weekend for the sole reason of them not having a wait for a table. We called around to a few places and this was the first one we found with no wait. After entering the restaurant it was a pretty cool set up. Not your typical sports bar, there are all kinds of sports on that i'd never think to see at a bar. There are also way more TVs than I've seen at any other bar I've been to. The service was not great....our waitress would walk by multiple times seeing that we had empty drinks or were done with our food before coming over. It seemed like they paid more attention to the 'regulars' rather than new customers. What I thought was weird was the manner in which they enforced the COVID restrictions. I have gone out multiple times since indoor dining opened back up in CT and this was the only place that handled the restrictions the way they did. Our waitress made us order a 'meal sized portion' of food each before we could order a drink. After ordering our appetizer she let one of us order a drink, but not both of us. However, then once we finished our meals she let us continue to order drinks even though we were done eating....it was just odd to me. I also noticed they did not wipe down the table and they gave us menus covered in grease. We ordered wings as an appetizer and we both ordered a bacon cheeseburger for our entrees. The wings were honestly some of the worst I've ever had. The flavor of the sauce was fine, but the quality of the meat just tasted off. I had one and let the person I was with finish the rest. The cheeseburger was alright, but not great. It tasted halfway burnt, and the charred flavor was really all I got throughout eating it. The coleslaw was weird and had very little flavor. The chips were decent and seemed homemade. Overall I was not very impressed with this restaurant, but it was kind of what I expected. I would definitely come back to sit at the bar post-COVID and just order some drinks. The drinks were priced decently and it looks like they have a good happy hour, but the food and service is not anything I'd come back for. read more

Stopped in for a quick drink. Quick is not in their vocabulary. There was no bartender to be had. After ten minutes went to the host to see where everyone was. Host returned couldn't find the bartender. Went to the men's room, found the bartender in a booth hanging out. Came over made two really awful tasting drinks. The dirty martini was green from the olive juice which also tasted very very old. Bartender left never came back. Had to get the host to get someone to get us our check. So I'm flying in from out of the country and my fiancée totally surprised me at the airport! It was so sweet of her. So she took me right across the street to Bobby V's to check out their happy hour! There was a Yelp Elite Event here quite a while ago that we missed so this was our chance to check this place out! Atmosphere/Appearance: The parking lot is absolutely massive so if you don't get a spot then you know it's super packed inside for some huge event. The parking lot can be a bit confusing with its one-way markers and directions, but you'll get the hang of it. Inside is just as big. It's a giant dome with, I don't know, maybe 100 TVs all capable of showing different programs due to the sports betting that happens inside. It was a Thursday afternoon during happy hour (Monday through Friday 3:00pm to 6:00pm). It wasn't too busy, but there were plenty of people around. I loved how the booths all had high walls that went above our heads to give us a great feel of privacy. Service: Decent. It took a little while for our server to see us at first, but eventually she made it over. From there on it was smooth sailing. Food: Our happy hour cosmo was strong and very delicious! I think I had 2 of them and that's all I needed. I don't see the Buffalo Chicken Dip on the happy hour menu anymore, but that's what we got when we were there on March 7, 2019. Hopefully the restaurant's website is wrong and it IS still on the menu. Anyway, it was delicious. It was chunky, spicy and filling. We substituted all the chips out for vegetables, because... they're better for you. Lol. Value: $4.00 for those strong cosmos and maybe $7.00 for the dip? This place reminds me of the sports bars I remember from my childhood. Good food, lots of room and TVs everywhere. There is a game you are interested on one of the many TVs as well as Off track betting/sports betting for those over 21. The staff is friendly and the food comes out pretty quick. We had boneless wings and fries for my son, boneless Indian dry rub for my wife and I enjoyed the shrimp po boy and sweet potato fries. Food was very good and everything was cooked perfectly. I went to Bobby V's to watch the game with my friend. He loves sports and likes to gamble. The restaurant is full of tv's, a huge bar and seating area. The tables and chairs are a little outdated. There are small tv's in some of the booths which is pretty cool. I ordered sweet potato fries with some type of mule which contained lime and ginger beer. Fries and drink were mediocre. The waitress / staff were kind. One more fun fact, the internet connection / WI-FI was terrible. Neither of us could get decent service. read more

Updating my review... This has been one of our favorite, Go-to restaurants for the last 3 years. An injury has kept me from dining at the restaurant, so all of my experiences have been delivery through DineInCT & DoorDash. This has always been a reliably excellent restaurant to order delivery from which is why I've waited for so long to update this review. I don't know and hope the quality & consistency of their food has not changed in the restaurant, so to be clear something (new chef? New business model? Manager?) has changed & this restaurant is no longer consistently excellent when ordering it to be delivered, and it's breaking my heart. I'm only docking them 1 star for now, because I want to believe this is a fluke, and I'm hoping it's only happening with delivered meals. I have been ordering Bobby V's seared salmon 1-2x a week for about 3 years, because *No One* had a delicious sear like theirs. Their salmon was so reliable good it haunted me (I craved their crunchy salmon). Suddenly after the summer of 2021 they changed the way they cook their salmon, the very sear that made them stand out, gone (as was our favorite Asian Salad which I'm told is seasonal). Ok you're thinking, just request a better sear? I shouldn't have to, the item is described as "pan seared salmon", but I do request it be seared well, or to crunchy, every time I time I order it. 1 out of 8x they deliver a better sear... it's still not their legendary sear, but even just having the edges seared in an improvement and makes the salmon taste so much better. Last night I ordered blackened salmon and requested a crunchy sear, and received plain (not blackened), fishy-tasting (not fresh?) salmon. This is not the first time they have recently forgotten the blackened seasoning, I just started to order it blackened, hoping it will help make their salmon special again. I couldn't eat the salmon last night, and actually decided against feeding it to my dog because it had a strange looking sheen. I may not like the new way they're cooking the "pan seared salmon," but I've never received anything but the fresher quality seafood from this restaurant. I'm genuinely upset about this experience. I have found Bobby's has started to pick and choose which instructions to follow. I have a GI condition that requires me to eat a gluten-free, and mostly keto-like diet. I asked for my large (paid $3 extra for a large) Caesar to have no dressing or croutons, and indicated that I *did* want the shaved Parmesan cheese. What I got was 2 cups of plain Romain and no Parmesan and that bad piece of salmon. The gluten free chicken tenders had no seasoning in the breading. My husband did love his wrap. Bobby V's has always had consistently awesome and flavorful food. Burgers, wings, really great salads... we have always thoroughly enjoyed their food. I order delivery more than the average person/family because I am still healing from a injury. We never tired of Bobby V's & as I've said tend to order from them 1-2x every week. I hate having to caution you away from their salmon, but it hasn't been spectacular since last summer & I'm going to have to start getting it elsewhere... Joe's Pizza in Simsbury center has a nice sear, Marco's in Tariffville and Winged Bear are also excellent. We will still order from Bobby's from time to time in hope that they've addressed what's not working (I can't be the only consumer to notice something has changed in the last 4-6 months). First time here and really enjoyed it. Very cool atmosphere and if you want to watch sports and have a beer and some food this is the place to do it. Especially if maybe you have a bit of time before you need to check into security for your flight, it's right up the street from Bradley International Airport. FOOD: Pretty good! I had their Mac & cheese and it was pretty yummy. Our waitress turned me onto adding hot sauce to it and it was actually really really good, I would have never done that otherwise lol. AMBIANCE: It is a large place and very dim but decent lighting in the right places. Plus the many televisions they have in there illuminate it as well. Stopped in on a Sunday evening about an hour before closing. Not a lot of folks here for the size of the place. Ate dinner at the bar. The bar staff were very good and attentive. The food was good. I had the Buffalo Mac & cheese and the Texan burger. I always have to try the Mac & Cheese if it is an option when out. The burger was pretty good but the Mac was a bit disappointing. Went here for a Happy Hour from work. A very different ambience for a sports bar, from the way the seatings are set up to the order of the display screens, over all it gives a good vibe. It was a quiet day when we had gone and we were told that the place gets packed during game nights which I am not surprised. A very pleasing and surprising appearance for a sports bar and I liked it. We got seated pretty immediately and I like the way the seating areas with the couch, the booths i should say, are laid out. The booths give you a sense of privacy. A few of my friends are pretty loud and the layout of the booths saves us from the cold stares. Like the seating too. The waitress, the girl who assisted us was Lisa, very friendly, fast, gave us her recommendations and also joined us in the fun chatting with us. Very friendly group of staff. Drinks & Food, the drinks is the usual that you can get any sports bar. But the food from the happy hour menu are great. The size of the nachos and the flat bread (chicken margaritas flat bread that we ordered) were huge portions and a good dig during Happy Hours. Even the dinner menu is very different when compared to the other sports bar. Very good standards for a sports bar and a very good one. A definite must go. read more

I was very pleasantly surprised. I had visions of a dingy Off Track Betting parlor, but no -this place is bright and cheery and created a great impression from the minute I walked in. The wonderful music really helped -great stuff from the Velvet Underground and David Bowie made the playlist! It seemed like every wall in the dining room -bar was covered by soundless television screens, one of the screens was the size of a movie theater screen. Lots of different baseball games, horse racing and oddly poker. By the way, in the history of television, I think televised poker games may be the oddest thing ever televised. Well, maybe Big Brother too, So the dining room and bar are huge, the interior was way more welcoming than I would have expected. The food was very good too. I started with a Bobby V Ale ($6) from City Steam that I thoroughly enjoyed. I was very happy with the Clams Casino Flatbread I ordered. It ran $12.50 and had a real nice amount of clams, bacon, tomato, and cheeses. My wife had the Turkey Club Wrap ($11) that came with home made chips and a pickle. Pretty reasonable prices and a very cool atmosphere. Our server must have had an off night. I asked for crushed pepper for my pizza and she said "sure" then forgot about it. And when she brought my bill and credit card she also forgot to give us a pen to use. I'd like to check out Bobby V's on an NFL football Sunday. That would be fun... Wow sensory overload: there are huge tvs everywhere, but I guess it is a sports bar. Huge selection of beers on tap and good happy hour specials. The food menu has something for everyone. I got the portobello poutine. The fries are thick cut and crispy on the outside, they held up well to the gravy, mushrooms and cheese. Also on special was their flatbread. I tried the pepperoni flatbread. The pepperoni was crisp on the edges and nice little kick (some of the best pepperoni I have ever had). The sauce was just enough to cover the flatbread and complimented the pepperoni and cheese. read more
