Whenever I order a burger it gets cooked correctly- medium rare. And the wings are a favorite! The bartenders are always nice and very attentive. Rolled in here on a Sunday later in the afternoon/before dinner and it was busy! No issues getting a seat from the friendly hostess; we sat in the dinning area off the bar. Plenty of TVs here if that's your jam. We started off with the pretzel app which was good! The mustard/beer sauce almost had a gravy like taste to it. Not bad, just different. My wife went with a Caesar salad with blackened shrimp. The shrimp had some kick! I like spicy food and thought they were excellent. My wife was a trooper and had a few before having to relinquish to the heat. She enjoyed the salad. I went with the Crunchy Asian Wrap which was delicious! It definitely had an Asian like sauce with some heat to it. Overall, I really enjoyed the flavor. I have to give a shout out to the tator tots too. I was never a fan of these growing up. Seems the school cafeteria under-cooked them and they tasted like a soggy hashbrown. That's not the case here! Super crispy with a soft center. Mmmmm! I shared with my wife and she enjoyed. We were up in Enfield running an errand around dinner time and we were both starving so after a quick Yelp search, we landed on The Yarde Tavern and I'm so glad we did! The ambiance upon first walking in was great and we loved the live music playing which wasn't too loud so we could still have a conversation. We decided to split a few appetizers and went with an order of wings (Buffalo and adobo), calamari and fried pickles. First of all, let me tell you that the service was out of this world incredible. Our food came out so quickly and it was so fresh and piping hot. I judge restaurants based on their wings and these were so crispy and both the sauce and dry rub were fantastic. The fried pickles were also perfectly crispy and while we both loved the calamari, my husband couldn't stop raving about it for days after. Up in the area for a football game and stopped here for dinner on the way home. The reviews were good and I'm trying to figure out why??? Started out with fried calamari. Everything I requested be removed was on the plate and the one thing I didn't ask to be taken off, was on the side. Okay, that's fine, kids just won't eat it. Looked much better than it tasted. Kids ordered the chicken tenders, not good and the grilled chicken, way over seasoned for a kids meal. I had a chicken panini that I didn't really care for. Chicken tasted weird. My hubby had the Cajun chicken pasta, which he said was good. For dessert the chocolate lava cake was bad enough that we didn't finish it, but the Cheesecake was good. The service was good. She checked on us and made sure our drinks were full. The only mishap was the calamari, but that may have been a kitchen mistake and not her fault. Won't be back! read more

A day out in enfield to visit a local attraction brought us to yards tavern. We sat outside since the day was so nice. I ordered the apple salad my daughter the bread bowl chili and pierogi special. We split an order of chicken wings. Her little friend is a picky eater so simply the Mac and cheese. My salad was delicious. The chili was a deep Smokey flavor and the bread bowl very soft. I offered to trade a bit of my salad for the Mac and cheese but it didn't happen. I've been here a few times with my co workers and it's definitely a nice place to go out with a bunch of people for happy hour. Yarde always has enough seating for us which is great because we usually come with a party of 4-6+. I've gotten the nachos here which are pretty good. Recently I got the buffalo chicken sliders which I really liked! The fries were way better though. The menu is pretty extensive for such a small place but there is literally something for everyone! The tap list is pretty extensive as well but I haven't explored it too much. My major concern about this place is after it hits 4:30/5pm it turns into this obnoxious dive bar. It got so loud so quickly that we couldn't even hear ourselves talk so we eventually left. Honestly it wasn't even that packed when it got this obnoxious it was just a bunch of older people acting like they were in college which was really weird and very concerning. If it weren't for the weird ambiance towards 5pm I would easily given Yarde 4-5 stars but this crew really puts a damper on your visit here. Came here for some drinks and some tacos on a Taco Tuesday that seemed a little out of place but regardless filled us up as we enjoyed our margaritas and drafts during happy hour in the middle of the week. The bar area is the main attraction of the restaurant being right in front as you walk in which is the best part of the place as you have your TVs, drafts and Keno. We sat at the booths sipping on drinks while we chatted and occasionally snacking on spinach and artichoke dip with some toast pita bread which is a nice change up from the usual chips that are found in other places. I enjoyed the Sam Adam's seasonal while the rest of the group had house margaritas. All in all a nice night out with friends without breaking the bank too much. read more

First-time visit 2/8/24 about 2 in the afternoon. Went here w/a friend after we had poor customer service at a nearby chain restaurant. Good tavern/pub atmosphere w/plenty TV's tuned into sports channels, music playing in the background. Not too loud, able to talk with your indoor voice. We were greeted and seated in short order. Server quickly came over, greeted us, took our drink orders, then brought our drinks over, and took our lunch order. My friend had the buffalo chicken sandwich w/fries, I had the tuna melt w/fries. Both orders arrived to us in a few minutes. Both sandwiches were good - bflo chicken came open faced w/lettuce & tomato, chicken spilling out the bun. My sandwich was stuffed with tuna, w/cheese on the top and bottom. If you like your tuna w/ some chopped celery, a bit of sweet pickle relish, and tomato slices -- you'll like this one. It could have been warmed thru more, but it was good. Fries were good too. I plan to try out the coleslaw next time, as well as getting the cheeseburger. My friend wants to try the Reuben sandwich. Our server (Rachel?) was the best. Friendly and attentive, she provided us more napkins w/o us asking, checked in w/us at the right times and asked if I wanted a refill just after I finished my iced tea. Perfect pub food! They have an entire system down for COVID which is perfect! I had a great experience at The Yard Tavern. My client recommended it for a quick lunch. We sat outside and it helped that it was a beautiful day! We both ordered the Zoodles with Chicken and Basil sauce. It was DELICIOUS. I want it in my belly now. Since I live really far from Enfield, I will just have to try to replicate it a home. It was a big pile of thinly sliced zucchini, like angel hair, sautéed with a garlicky basil sauce, some tomatoes and mozzarella balls. Oh an chunks of pan seared chicken chunks. I ate the whole thing even though I should have stopped halfway through. When I'm back I'm Enfield, I hope they have it on the menu again. Ok..went there after a Santana cover band at the Broad Brook Opera House...They were FANTASTIC! But, I was hungry, so we left kind of early and used Waze to find food...went to a strip bar, 1st - NOT intentionally! Then a pool hall, then Yarde Tavern. By then, it was after 10:30 PM - not only was the kitchen still open, but everything we ordered was fresh made AND delicious! I'm a really fussy eater and my husband will eat anything...I got steak & cheese egg rolls - OMG! Hand-made and FRESH! With a (not too powerful) horseradish sauce - TO DIE FOR!!! I got a cobb salad and blackened chicken burger, which I got to go. Julie, at the bar, was THE BEST! I'm out for fun and hubby is driving, so...Julie really took care of me! It used to be that when you ordered a Rueben and fries you would get a Rueben you had to cut in half and you likely brought the other half home for later along with some fries. Not so today. The Rueben shrunk to the size you might make at home. A lot less fries too. No choice of which meat went into it either. I know most restaurants start slipping after they have been around for a while and I think that is what is happening here. It was loaded with elderly people today. Maybe they have smaller appetites. I got takeout from this place for the first time on Superbowl Sunday and I'm so glad I did. I ordered the loaded tots and wings. The loaded tots weren't on the menu, but I saw pictures of it on Yelp and decided to get it. The portion was very generous and was deliciously topped with cheese, green onions, and bacon bites. For the wings, we ordered half honey bbq and half garlic ranch. I'm so glad I did a combination of a dry rub and sauce because it really is the best of both worlds. If I had to choose, I'd prefer the garlic ranch (especially when you dip it into ranch dressing..I swear by it) because it's more flavorful in my opinion. However, honey bbq is also pretty good so I hope I wouldn't ever have to choose one over the other. The wings were juicy and the flavors were on point. Get the wings. Seriously, just get the wings. They have over 20 dry rubs, and they come out crispy and flavorful. Be aware that the "hot" isn't really hot, but they were too good for me to even be a little bothered that they weren't spicy. There are 50 beers on tap - be adventurous! The server we had was lovely, offered samples of the dry rubs and beers, and was able to recommend things to us without hesitation. We also had a reuben and a Philly cheesesteak, but get the wings. Fries are good, sandwiches are huge, but get the wings. Parking is a little iffy - the lot isn't the best (big, but...) and they could likely redo the lines and make it better, but it's worth it.
