Get the wings. Seriously, just get the wings. They have over 20 dry rubs, and they come out crispy and flavorful. Be aware that the "hot" isn't really hot, but they were too good for me to even be a little bothered that they weren't spicy. There are 50 beers on tap - be adventurous! The server we had was lovely, offered samples of the dry rubs and beers, and was able to recommend things to us without hesitation. We also had a reuben and a Philly cheesesteak, but get the wings. Fries are good, sandwiches are huge, but get the wings. Parking is a little iffy - the lot isn't the best (big, but...) and they could likely redo the lines and make it better, but it's worth it. First time to The Yarde Tavern. Great beer selection, I had the Porter which was fresh with great flavor. The St. Patrick's Day menus had many options of which I chose the corned beef sandwich. The corned beef was a little dry and chewy, but had good flavor, a side of spicy or Coleman's mustard would have been nice to have. The sweet potato fries were the best I have had in quite a while, awesome! The service was very good. I will certainly come here again for good food, higher quality than typical bar food. read more

This was a good stop on a road trip in the area. Right off the highway and plenty of party. They have a nice outside area set up as well with pretty string lights. A lot of beer on tap especially local beer. They do have live bands so if you're coming for dinner definitely ask to be moved to the other side of the restaurant. Great sports bar with a great selection of craft beers on route 5 near enfield, Ct. Divey feel to it. Got the calamari which was remarkably well spiced and good. On the other hand, the chili which apparently was mentioned as being famous was remarkably bad and cold. Mixed drinks were A-ok though the beers are a must try for any beer lover. Pretty solid bar food. I've only taken out food here, but this place is always bustling. The bar seems to be always full. (Slightly loud so not the best place for a date. They do have a small outdoor area which is cute) They also have a lot of events- looks like trivia on a weekday, happy hour deals on Sunday, and today, they had some art glass class going on inside. I LOVE when restaurant really make an effort to package your Togo food well. I've ordered the nachos and it is fantastic. They will pack the chili on the side and really make an effort to make sure you get a "hot" meal. (I've noticed the waitress lets the kitchen know your here to pick up the food so that they can pack it up right then and there- instead of it just sitting on the counter) They also will pack all the silverware you need along with condiments. Their buffalo chicken sandwich is really good. The chicken breast is very crispy and yet light on the outside while juicy on the inside. Mashed potato was a solid mashed potato, no complaints. I did not enjoy the wings: they are very big in size (which is not the good type of wings- smaller the better!) and it was wayyy too dry. Either over cooked (and some of my wings had some burn? marks on the outside as if overfried or stuck to the fryer aka not evenly cooked) or something. They also did not cover the wings in enough sauce. If it's going to be dry, at least drench it in sauce so I can't tell! I was pretty disappointed in the wings. The sauce flavor was good but honestly it was almost hard to tell bc I barely got any of the sauce. I'd probably not get these again. I do appreciate the giant tub of blue cheese they packed in my bag bc I needed it to swallow these dry wings. Fries: I have mixed feelings about their fries. It's a little greasy (which is ok) but also it's like a steak fry size (which in my opinion, is the worst type of fry). I still ate it all and it was better than the wings. Probably will stick to the mashed potato. So far, this place is like mediocre for me, I will continue to try more things (but with some caution). I really did enjoy the nachos so I will give it another chance. (Maybe dining in) I do feel like they are a great establishment especially for enfield (where there is nothing). I went there twice the week I was in town. First day burger (solid good. Nice crisp lettuce tomato and onion. Second day steak tips with the makers Mark dark sweet savory sauce. LOVED The steak tips and sauce with the peppers and onions. I like that the peppers and onions were cooked pretty good they weren't crunchy. The rice that came with the steak tips was fair at best. A little higher quality rice pilaf would make the plate really jammin. They have a pretty good beer selection. Its A pretty busy place so probably good to get your ducks in a row especially with drinks for when your server is at the table. They mix all of the nacho toppings with the chips before baking therefore every chip is loaded with chili cheese goodness. The chili even has chunks of beef like you would find in a beef stew that are so tender ahhhh I wanna go back right now, my mouth is watering writing this review. The half sized portion was perfect for two hungry people, they also give you a generous portion of sour cream and salsa on the side. They do beer fights for $11 your choice of 4 beers. And considering they have like 30 beers on tap (maybe slightly exaggerated) picking just 4 out of the bunch was hard. If you like cider they had about 4 or 5 different kinds on draft which is a rarity. Def has a dive bar feel considering about 10 bikers sat down before we were seated. They walked in and didn't even wait to be seated, and hostess seemed annoyed but rightfully so. Wait staff was pleasant and let us sit at a free table in the bar area when we asked. I've been to The Yarde Tavern a few times, it really depends on when you go, on how the place flows. I went here on an evening during the week once, and it was just fine. The service was quick, the place was average busy. The wrap I got was good. I went here on a Saturday night to see live music, and that was a mess. The Yard Tavern is a smaller place, they don't have the space for live music. As much as I love live music, and gravitate towards places that offer it, some places are just not meant for it. No matter where I stood, and I had to stand, since there was no available seating or tables, I was constantly in someone's way. And when the band was eventually ready to play, while the waitstaff was trying to do their job, it was a very tight space to maneuver. You're constantly at the risk of elbowing someone, if you're drinking, walking by, possibly dancing, whatever you're doing, you're going to get elbowed or someone else will. The place is too small for live music. They offer a nice selection of craft beers here, which I appreciate. I totally forgot to take pictures, but the outside is beautifully decorated for the season, with multicolored mums, various pumpkins and an array of string lights. I am perhaps one of the pickiest people in the universe when it comes to restaurants and I don't post reviews very often but this place is PERFECT !!! I've been here three times and everything was super. Firstly everything was well spiced, interesdting and fun to eat. Often you go to restaurants where they're very timid about putting spices into their food. Not at the Yarde Tavern. Everything, from drinks to dessert proved to be a playground for my taste buds. Oh, and the service was perfect as well. One more note - often times in restaurants your food order comes out with your server and often in my experience that means the food does not come out hot to your table. The Yarde Tavern solves this problem by having kitchen staff come out with your food as soon as it is done. After only three visits in three weeks this definitely will be my go to establishment. Been going to the Yarde Tavern since it opened. Always good food with an extensive menu. I've had the Mediterranean wrap, chop salad with salmon, buffalo chicken salad, etc .. all delicious and packed with great flavor. Food is good quality. This place can get pretty rowdy and packed Thursday-Saturday evenings, so if that's not your jam, stay away during those times. Service is usually pretty good, but considering the pandemic, it's been spotty lately. Had to flag down our waitress a couple times for refills and had to go up to the bar to pay our tab after waiting about 10 minutes to see if waitress would come around again. She didn't. Went to Yarde Tavern for the first time with a group of friends. Lunch was good. Everyone enjoyed their meals from fish and chips to Asian wrap to burgers. Snafu with one of the meals so one woman had to sit and watch us eat while they remade hers. But good overall until. Really rude red haired woman started clearing the table and dropping dishes and bumping into seated people to reach dishes on the other side of the table. The pulled pork quesadilla got a positive review. Meatloaf sandwich was decent. But though the cajun chicken pasta was stated to be 'pretty good', it was placed awkwardly in the bag and melted through the bottom dropping everything to the floor of the car and leaving me scrambling to find another bag to carry everything in. Flavorless, grizzle and just not worth even $6. Fries were adequate at best. One glass of wine which wasn't very good and one beer in our grand total was $45. Had a delicious Octoberfest Dinner at the Yarde Tavern last night. Started with pints of Spaten Octoberfest, my favorite and a large pretzel-yummy! Wondered why there was no head on the beer, but it tasted ok. I had the Beer Brat Dinner that came with Spaetzle , Sauerkraut, and Red Cabbage. The brats were tasty. They came with a cheese sauce they was curious. My husband had the Kielbasa sandwich which came with sauerkraut. The kielbasa is made locally in Enfield by the Janik Sausage Company and he said it was the best he ever had. The pretzel roll was fresh and the accompanying French Fries were hot and nicely spiced. Maybe it will be an addition to the regular menu? Good job, Yarde! read more

We ordered the Reuben which was 1 1/2 inches of lean corned beef with just the right amount of sauerkraut, and the Mile High Burger which WAS a mile high! Both were delicious. I've gone here for lunch & dinner dates with my husband, Mother's Day with the family, lunch dates with my friends, and staff luncheons with my boss & coworkers. I introduced the Yarde Tavern to a friend who'd not yet been--always fun for me. Walking in, we face the bar area, which looks cozy and fun...but I usually sit in the dining room to the left. I can hear and focus on my table convo better. Seated by a friendly server at a nice, clean table, we got our menus and looked at the front-page offerings, which change up and are seasonally-focused. Always some good things in there, but I had a hankering for two of my faves: the Caprese Flatbread and Caesar salad (w/o chicken). My friend ordered a Grilled Turkey Wrap with Tavern Slaw. I cannot say enough low much I love the Caprese. It is the perfect marriage of flavors: garlic (zippy!), basil (savory!), oven roasted tomatoes (tangy!) and ooooooooooooooh, that balsamic reduction. To. Die. For. The Caesar salad is delish, too. Love the dressing, and the romaine is always fresh and crispy with just the right amount of shaved parm. Both are generously sized--I ate half of each, was comfortable sated, and brought the rest home for another meal (yes, I am eating that Caprese for breakfast, don't judge me). My lunch companion loved her choices, and also brought half the large wrap home. We sat, had a leisurely lunch, and wrapped up with a coffee. Our waitress was so sweet and we didn't feel rushed. We lingered, chatting and just enjoying ourselves. I think I've made another repeat customer. This place deserves it. read more

Driving to the airport from Amherst, MA and found this gem. Probably, one of the best Reuben's I've ever had and it's a lunch special! Truly was my lucky day. There's a talent for making a Reuben and this place nails it! Thin sliced tender meat on both slices of Rye with the perfect amount of sauerkraut in between. When you can easily eat a sandwich this size you've found a slice of heaven on earth. My son's buffalo chicken sandwich was great, too! And the French Fries perfect. Thank you!!
