Mellara has such a special presence: warm, calm and heart filled. I loved her teaching of the Yoga Nidra practice. Suzy her co-teacher at the retreat has a bubbly, loving vibe that makes people feel safe and comfortable. I loved the overall flow of the retreat: starting in silence, the balance of Yoga and teachings and the openness and love that the teachers bring to this work. The retreat attendees were also lovely and enjoyed the friendliness and community of the group. Food was wonderful and enjoyed that there was herb tea available all the time:)

Both Mellara & Suzy did an amazing job creating a beautiful and safe space for us to deepen our practice through yoga and meditation. The retreat was Friday evening, all day Saturday, and half-day Sunday... And was designed thoughtfully with strong, mild, yin, and restorative yoga. Meditation and teachings were woven throughout our entire time. In addition, there was opportunity to explore the beautiful Westerbeke Ranch (if desired) and spend time alone hiking, resting, journaling, or whatever the soul needed. Intentional thought was put into creating this time, and I was allowed to go deeper into my true self through teachings. It was a wonderful experience.

There were spots to put shoes/coats/etc. The studio itself was peaceful and large. There was a supply closet for things like blocks. The facility and check in process was super simple! The yoga class was super peaceful. We did a slow flow class that was for all skill levels. The class focused primarily on easy movements and breathing. I really enjoyed it and will be back!

I've tried other studios, but OD is still my favorite. It's a power yoga studio, in the tradition of Baron Baptiste (but without his irritating ego trip... I'm not exactly his biggest fan). That being said, their roster of teachers all have their own individual styles and thus their classes are all somewhat different. They all have different backgrounds: they include dancers, physical therapists, masseuses, triathletes, and just regular people who fell in love with yoga and undertook OD's 200 hour teacher training course. My personal favorites are: 1. Barbara: Her classes are a perfect mix of mind and body. I always leave her classes happy, feeling like I got a good physical as well as mental workout. 2. Deb: her background as a physical therapist really shows in the class she leads. Great for beginners, as she is patient and calm. 3. Laurie: She is great for those who are looking for a more athletic, less "yoga-y" class. She does a lot of great ab exercises at the beginning and end of class. 4. Joanne, aka JoJo: Her voice is mesmerizing, and if it doesn't draw you into a tranquil state of bliss, well, you must be a robot.

Do not waste your time with this studio. I once drive in a heavy snowstorm to her Cohasset location, determined to do my practice and stay positive. When I got there, I was given an audio tape to follow after I paid. There were 2 other students in the room. She had her husband, who was not certified (and at the time I was a full time fitness instructor with over 20 different fitness certifications including yoga and pilates). It was a joke. After that, I went to the Hanover studio. That is where the scolding and negativity is in full heat (pardon the pun but we need a smile here). I will never return and I think that the owner of this studio gives a terrible experience of Bikram. If you went there and had a bad experience, please do not give up on your experience- Bikram can change your life in many positive ways. As for me, I stumbled upon this review while looking for a Bikram studio near Plymouth and just found Hot Yoga 1620 which has Bikram - I am setting my intention to write a review afterward:)

There is a very controlling feel about this studio. You need to call or text each day prior to coming and the class times vary - the website is not accurate and there are no drop ins allowed. I have been probably 6 times now. Each time treading lightly as I noticed she is just inconsistent - and for me that is very hard to manage. Especially when interaction with her is required. Today; I was admittedly late. 5 minutes. I entered the room and was immediately scolded. Told to stand in place, do not unroll my matt, and that I was late. Yes. I was late; however, I had been in a class a couple weeks earlier where she waited for a student and started late to accommodate. So... I'm standing there thinking "Isn't that interesting" and literally contemplated what to do next. In the end I picked my things up and left. I think it's a shame. I had a feeling something would give at one point at this Studio and today was that day. I love Bikram and I was genuinely excited about taking it up again. You sweat and really feel cleansed at the end. I don't normally write reviews, but this experience so contradicted what yoga is. Namaste.

I enjoyed the mechanics of the reformer & joined with an unlimited membership that day. I have taken over 60 classes in less than 3 months & throughly enjoy each & every class. Not one class has ever been the same with each class providing a total body workout. I have noticed significant chances in my body relating to strength & overall fitness. I have never taken a fitness class that speaks to me as pilates does. All of the instructors appear to be very well versed in the human anatomy muscle family & how to make modifications to align your workout with your body's limitations. There are 3 levels of classes, with the 3rd requiring an assessment to access. There are all ages but unfortunately mostly women (of all ages) as I think my husband would greatly benefit from this type of fitness activity. I was nervous to start practicing yoga again, as I hadn't done it in years, but after taking my first class about 2 months ago, I haven't looked back. I now attend class 2-3 times per week and it has become part of my regular routine. I actually crave the hot studio and the opportunity to slow down my brain and focus on myself, which is otherwise difficult with 3 young children at home. Also, they play really cool music! I have had problems with being charged multiply times in my debit card and credit card. Talked to…read morethe owner very unpleasant and was basically telling me it was my fault. Tried to add a different card cause mine on file was compromised and was told I had to buy something In order to add card. She told me some of her employees don't have that access and that is how some of them were trained will others have the access to put in new cards without buying anything. I was never told that I should wait till the next day and talk to someone that could do it without buying something from the store. Also got charge for a class that was cancelled buy the instructor. not once but twice in two different cards. And was told basically my fault and with an attitude. Will never go back and just check your bank statements.

Also, I worried if anything happened to me (like falling or passing out), no one would know for a while (very quiet locker room). Nice price but you get what you pay for.

There's a large variety of equipment, but it's old and a lot of it is rusted which again speaks to the sanitization. The equipment is so close to each-other so people are walking right in your face which is uncomfortable. The spray bottles don't smell like disinfectant because it's so watered down. There's always trash in the cup holder in the cardio section. Locker rooms are subpar and the steam/sauna again does not seem sanitary. Would be ideal to get new equipment but I understand it's a small business. Hopefully there's some improvement planned in the future, but convenient otherwise and always enough cardio equipment despite rush hour times.
