Really awful experience after many months of going to Zen for pedicures! My original tech was busy so they gave me another tech, the gel polish started to peel and chip off the same day. I notified the salon and explained what happened; they requested I return asap to have it fixed. I didn't end up making it until much later than expected and they refused to correct their original mistake. I've luckily found a new salon down the road, rather than the 30min hike I was making to Zen! Everything happens for a reason! I had been going to zen for well over a year, every 4 weeks. I would always bring a reference photo of what I was looking for and had no problem. Recently I went in to get my birthday nails done. Showed my reference photo as usual and no problem. The process started. He started painting my nails and it looked nothing like the photo. He tried again and I figured let me let him finish to see the final results before I judge them. He finished and again they look nothing like the photo. He then tells me well I can't make it look like that...ok well it would have been nice to know that before hand. At this point iv been there long enough I had to leave. I call the salon later that evening to express my displeasure and I left a message I wait around all day the following day and no call back. I call the next day and speak to another gentleman I tell him the whole story and he tells me to come back for a color change. Perfect I think. Wrong. I come in two days later as my work schedule allows and show the original reference photo and was told that wasn't something they could do. We decide to do something different. Once he takes everything off and before he starts the process again he tells me it will be an additional $70. I said I'm sorry I just paid $80 for a fill and color 4 days ago and was told Tuesday to just come in for a color change. He never said i had to pay since I did get what I asked for. I was told they have to charge for services rendered. Obviously I was very upset as I don't want to pay another $70 but now I have bare nails that he's left me with. They offered no compensation for then fact that they butchered my nails and charge me again to fix them. Even the new nail tech telling me they shouldn't have even tried it's not something they could do. So they admitted fault but I still had to pay for their mistake. It's ridiculous. I even left a review via their texting link and have not heard back. This is terrible costumer service and they are just money hungry. Needed a pedicure and decided to check this place out. I got there right when they opened. I was a little overwhelmed by the amount of color choices! Once I picked my color out my technician got started right away. I was offered a complimentary drink of wine, soda or water , but I declined. I'm unsure of the nail tech, but from my understanding it had started off well, but became rushed towards the end of my partner's service, leaving her nails improperly cured and without the requested chrome finish. I then spoke with the managerial staff, as these nails were meant for her graduate school graduation, and Chloe did an amazing job with getting us in with a nail tech who took my partner's requests seriously! After each step of the service, he checked in with my partner to see if she was satisfied with that step, and if not he restarted the step without complaint. Huge let-down I was really excited to get a mani/pedi here with my wife after being on the road for six hours. Reviews looked great, and it was along our route to NJ. I called to make reservations for both of us, and confirmed we wouldn't have a wait once we got there. When we walked in, the place looked nice. We were greeted by one of the techs giving a mani, and asked to sign ourselves in. We were about 10 minutes early to our reservation. Half an hour later, we were sat down in massage chairs to start off with pedicures. My wife's pedi started then. I was left waiting another 20 minutes though before someone checked to see what kind of pedicure I wanted and start. I let them know I wanted the men's sport manicure ($31) and to add extra massage to it. They seemed confused by this. They told me it would be an extra $5 for five minutes of massage. I asked if it would be $36 total, and they told me multiple times it would be $41. Confused, I settled on just what was listed in the menu for the regular men's pedicure. They have a bar and offer complimentary cocktails of which are super cute and taste so good! I Definitely felt bougie with my margarita! The girl who did my nails name was Holly and she was super sweet and quick, yet efficient. I was so pleased with my nails and the atmosphere. It was super busy consistently, but that can be a good sign. Holly made my nails look natural and not super thick acrylic layers, which I appreciated. There were realistically a few cons to this place and one was was the prices, I got a FILL and it was 52$, they up charged for very small things, but I didn't complain because the drink was cute and tasty, I assumed that's where the rest of it came from LOL. There is someone that comes up to you in the middle of your service to tell you the price of your nails, and there is a an up charge if you're using a card which I found strange. This place looks very upscale and the new renovations are beautiful. The pedicure area in the back is so relaxing with low lighting and spa music playing.
