I found this place on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives. Only a few blocks from my hotel so why not. Sat…read moreat bar and met Mike. More on that later. This place is so cool! Just the vibe is awesome but to meet Mike. This is his place. He is the guy that was on D, D, & D. An absolute treat. Slow night so I got to talk with him. Again, more on that. The chicken skin appetizer. OMG. So good. I need to figure out how to make these at home. Had the FTC burger and tots as Mike was nice enough to dissuade me away from the Moo Caliente. Says on the menu "VERY spicy". Mike gave me the Reaper aioli for my tots. Holy hot! But tasty. If you like really spicy, take the Moo Caliente on. Now Mike is the owner, bartender, and designer of all this. I have never had the opportunity to actually speak with the guy I saw on TV but he is so down to earth he acts like just an employee. What an honor to get to hang out and speak with the owner. An incredible experience and you must try Farmer & the Cow if in Wilmington

Street Corn Nachos- not your traditional Nachos but not bad Korean BBQ Brussel Sprouts- a definite miss- it had way too much sauce Burgers- were good Frankie McFurter- just ok Overall, a good experience

This is a review for Angelo's Pizza. Personally I preferred Pizzeria Bardea. I'm honestly not sure…read morewhat was going on at Angelo's. From the start, things were weird. The person taking my order didn't seem familiar with the menu, which was surprising for a place focused on something as straightforward as pizza. It took quite a while for the pizza to be assembled before making it to the oven. After ordering, I waited nearly 40 minutes, which I had buyer's remorse, considering I could have just ordered two pre-made slices and heated them up. Bardea was able to get an order in and out in like 10 minutes. Even weirder, comes the confusing part after Angelo's takes the pizza out of the oven. Twice, the pizza made it to a box, where employees stood over it, seemingly unsure of what to do. They appeared to be discussing it and even taking photos while the pizza just sat there getting cold, for several minutes. Is this an Instagram moment? I genuinely had no clue what was happening. By the time I finally received my order, the pizza was luke warm and the whole experience was frustrating. I have no interest dealing with whatever was happening here. I hope they work out the kinks of whatever the heck was going on at this place.

DE.CO is one of the cutest food spots in downtown Wilmington. There is something for everyone, from…read moresushi, tacos, and pizza to coffee and drinks. I haven't tried all the food stalls yet, but they're on my list. The layout has lots of seating in the center, with food on the side walls. It's like a more upscale food court. The vibe is chill, with simple modern yet cozy tables and benches amid lots of slightly industrial design touches. It's a good spot for lunch with colleagues or sitting alone with a book, especially on off hours. If you're looking for something a bit elevated but not super fancy, DE.CO is a great spot.

We recently held a celebration of life for my mom here, and from the moment we walked in, I knew…read morethis room was going to hold something special. Planning an event like this isn't easy -- there's so much weight to it, wanting every detail to honor someone you love -- and this team made that possible in a way I'll always be grateful for. The decor in the room was beautiful. Soft draping along the ceiling, a gorgeous chandelier, candlelight, and floral centerpieces on every table -- it felt warm and intimate, like the space itself was wrapping its arms around all of us as we gathered to remember her. Seeing my mom's photo up on the screens around the room, surrounded by family and friends sharing stories, laughter, and tears, is something I'll never forget. The service that night was incredible. The staff moved through the room with such care, making sure everyone felt looked after, but never once making it feel like just another event. The bartenders, especially, brought such an open, easygoing energy -- they were so fun to be around, and they helped lighten the mood in a way that let us laugh and celebrate my mom's life, even amid the grief. Looking back, that mix of comfort and joy meant so much. The food was super delicious too, and in moments like this, even small things -- a warm meal, a kind smile, a drink poured with a little extra care -- mean far more than people realize. I have to give a heartfelt and BIG shoutout to Amanda, the event coordinator/manager. She was an absolute sweetheart, and her calm, caring presence made it possible for our family to actually be present in the moment instead of worrying about logistics. She made sure everything -- from the setup to the TVs and microphones working perfectly for the tributes -- ran smoothly, and her thoughtfulness didn't go unnoticed by any of us. Hosting something this meaningful in a space that felt this beautiful, with people this kind, made all the difference on one of the hardest days. I am endlessly grateful to Amanda, the bartenders, and the entire team at Tonic for helping us celebrate my mom's life with so much love. I can't recommend this venue enough!!

We had to park a couple blocks away, but the weather was nice and cool, so we didn't mind. There was no cover charge, despite a band playing. The band was called The Jimmies, and they played music from the 80s (A Flock Of Seagulls, Billy Idol, Springsteen, Prince, etc.). Although I didn't eat, I noticed they had food for sale (burgers, hot dogs, chicken, etc.). An extensive craft beer selection both on tap and in cans was also offered. I had the Dale's Pale Ale from Oskar Blues brewery and the Hazy-O from Dogfish Head brewery. Both were pretty good. The place was pretty big with lots of tables. In the center were people playing corn hole. There was a sand area for kids to play (beach theme?). Once the sun went down, lights hanging from rope above us were turned on, creating a nice ambiance. For a city that doesn't have much (this came from people who live there, not me), this was a nice way to spend a Saturday night.

We will not be returning unless they accommodate more for families. There is unused space that they could easily put a child's sandpit or even some play stuff. Really disappointed we made the trip out here. We also found scrap metal in the sand area.
