Great haunt attraction complete with detailed sets, engaging actors and big scares! And it's all tied together with a mysterious backstory. I attend 30-40 haunt each year, and did 10 in the Northwest this year and this was one of the best. There was also an escape room near by if you need thrills. Timed entry helped to reduce wait times. Some food vendors nearby but no real concessions. Hope they at least add t-shirts or stickers do I can show my haunt pride. read more

Avoid. I went with a group of friends. We all bought tickets in advance for the 9 PM show. We waited outside for over an hour and got in around 10:15. Good set design, and some good costumes. The cast was... just not up to the market on fright. A scary costumed bartender demanding what you want to drink... A few hidden jump scares with the cast coming at you from predictable places. We were in there for maybe 20 minutes if you count the wait time after having our tickets scanned. For $20, the 75 minute wait, and lackluster performance you should look else where. read more

What a scare! What an amazing venue! Before anything, I want to say parking is pretty easy, right across, there is a parking structure where you can park for free, yup FREE. Don't we all love free? As for the Frighthouse itself, I loved it. My friends loved it. Pretty much all you can ask for a scary haunted house. Every segment you walk through is very scary, the details was amazing. I forgot how many rooms you go through but it is easily at least seven. The scary actors were hiding in spots you wouldn't expect. Also got some scary actors outside Frighthouse entertaining, I mean scary customers while in line. I like everything about it, I just wished it was longer and had more to it. Not saying it's bad as is but there's something missing and I can't point my finger on it. Overall a very scary evening. read more

Went to the 7pm time on Friday with my wife. Short wait, but a rush to get people in. The employees are fantastic and friendly. Decorations and crew are great. My only recommendation is to spread the time between groups as people got backed up inside the haunted house causing the scare factor to disappear altogether because you know what's coming. Especially when there isn't a wait or very little of a wait. read more

Expected a good scare when looking at the place, me and my wife were expecting only us to walk through, instead, we got put in a group of 8, so the people in front got the jumpscares, we walked through like it was just a normal stroll in the morning, super underwhelming and was NOT scary, waste of $45 if you get put in a big group. read more

I've been around a few haunted mazes in the Seattle/Tacoma area, and this one is my clear favorite. Rather than throwing together random body horror or excessive jump scares, this one is well themed with a consistent story and good actors, some of which interact with you with lines (not just "boo!"). I would put the story and theming up there with mazes I've done in Knott's or Universal. read more

I'm not a huge haunted house fan, but my daughter really wanted to go. It's worth noting that just because you buy your tickets online does not mean that you won't be waiting in line. We went on a Saturday night at around 7:40 p.m. and it was a solid two-hour wait just to get in. I almost bailed, but of course my daughter ran into a friend and wanted to stay. Warning: If you are claustrophobic, the WORST part of the haunted house was the entrance. They have a tunnel that you have to push through and the material is filled with air. The tunnel is tight around your head and shoulders. My daughter started having a panic attack, but I talked her through it. While the idea was novel, I think it lasted about 20 paces too long. I started feeling like I was going to die in that tunnel, but then out we popped. The haunted house staff were very good at jump scares and very good makeup and costumes. We had a fun time, all of us holding hands and screaming. For $3, you can also buy a glow stick, which means that the actors won't jump at you. My only real complaint was that dang tunnel and the long line, but that was my fault for not going right when it opened. The weird part is that they never asked to see our tickets. read more

What a fun night. The actors were out on the street & scaring the unsuspecting, messing with people. The wait was long (buy your tickets online, a service charge/$2.50/tkt but it's worth it), but we had such a great time. The actors & controllers talk to you & talk about the experience and give estimated times. They get everybody in a fun halloween mood. They do a good job of controlling the flow so everybody has the best experience & don't get a heads up by the group in front of what the next scare will be. The experience has everything a great haunted house should have; good & edicated actors, great sets, ambience, real reported ghosts, pushing you to the limits of panic & wanting to run or stop you in your tracks & not wanting to take another step into the next room. Loved the props and set. The theme is awesome! Theres a eerie feeling about the deep ocean. Its pretty length, sorta wish my group took our time instead of pur fast pace haha but that and the fact most of the actors are terrible, are the only bad things. There were good moments and ig it depends on ur scare level but my group of 5 can all agree that for the most part, the actors sucked lmao We had fun! But if ur looking for scary, i wouldn't say this is the one. read more

There was hardly any wait to get in when we went. The staff in front are very nice. The walk through was not scary, my preteens were disappointed. There were a few things I did like and would probably go back again mostly because there was no line, but this will not be a yearly visit for us. Also towards the ending the groups started to get too crammed together which caused us to keep bumping into other people which became annoying having to worry about that rather than enjoying the experience. read more

My husband and I believe this is the best haunted house in the area. The props, decorations, special effects and paintings on the wall were done extremely well and the actors are very spirited. You can tell that a good portion of them are very good at improv. We had several creepy conversations with them, and some would follow us for quite a while, after we thought they had gone away. Also, the length of it is really nice. We went to another haunted house that seemed to be over in minutes. But with Frighthouse, you get quite a journey and it actually has a story you can follow. Going here was the perfect way to start Halloween night. We will be back next year!! read more

What can I say, THEY GOT ME! Starting out, the line went by fairly quickly, which was a plus! Now I'm normally not jumpy, or scared walking through haunted houses, but frighthouse made me definitely jump quite a few times! The sfx, and props combined with the scare actors really knew how to build up a ominous environment, that definitely made me feel uneasy, but every moment was enjoyable! This was a fun scare-house in Tacoma. First, I want to say that they do an excellent job of keeping the line moving, when we first got in line we were around the corner and up the street, but we got in within about 10-15 minutes. During the wait time, outside, they even had some performers coming through the line to scare people. They send you through the actual house in groups from 2-6 (depending on your group size) which is great as it allows you to enjoy it with your friends. In order to keep the scares up, they pause each group before having them enter, giving some space between each. This is great, as it allows for surprise and noise based scares to happen for each group without giving away that it's coming from the group before. The issue is that a slow group can result in a back-up of people making their way through and the actors didn't seem too prepared to improv their scares if they couldn't get a surprise scare because of a backed-up line of people all making their way through. I also feel as though there could've been more actors in the house, to provide more scare opportunities. Now, that being said, the actors were definitely into the process and some were very interactive, which I enjoy in a haunted house. The house also had a fun story to which you made your way through, it wasn't just a bunch of hobbled-together scary things that didn't relate to each other. This was a major plus in my book because it was more interesting. Overall, I definitely encourage you to go if you're interested. Do note, if you're used to Halloween Haunts and Horror Nights of SoCal, this isn't going to be of the same caliber, for obvious budget reasons. But, it was still fun and well worth the $15 admission! read more

So we as a group ( my best friend and her husband ) took our kids ages 11, 9, & 7 to this and it was pretty entertaining as a family. I was thankful we left our 5 year old back at home. That would've been disastrous! Us moms kept on saying how glad we were that we didn't take them. I personally haven't been to a "haunted house" since I was a young child. But it was well put together and I really had a great time. Took us about 15-20 min to walk through it. Its not something I would go to as an adult with other adults if that helps, but I can see young kids like late teens early 20's enjoying this with friends ... also if you had older kids this would be a great family event to go enjoy in celebration of Halloween. I'll tell you that out of 3 kids the oldest girl was so scared she kept begging to go back through the whole ordeal and the youngest 7 year old was crying at the very end. We had to console him and I personally have never seen him nor would think he would've cried. So maybe 7 is too young? I on the other hand was not scared but did enjoy the staging and actors and the theatrics of the event and glad I did it. Would recommend! Hope this review helps others .. read more

My husband and I went through this on their opening night and really enjoyed it. With timed tickets, there was virtually no wait. The props and sets were very convincing and the scare factor was up there. The place actually did used to house corpses, so that alone is a big creep factor. Went and did the Lair of Shadows Interactive and immersive presentation and it was off the charts amazing. Never have I done a haunted house style venue where I felt like a piece of the puzzle and not just a lamb in a chute. Went opening weekend of 2019. I drove an hour to get to Frighthouse Station because I was on a haunted house tour with my friends. I might be somewhat of a critical critic because I work at a haunted house, but the experience was not great. Most of the effort went into the entrance of the attraction. Not a surprise because they want to bring foot traffic into the attraction from the street. The major problem was the lack of actors. It was opening weekend so I would expect energy and employment to be up, but it just wasn't there. Maybe things improved in the coming weeks. The theme was also incoherent. The first half of the attraction was themed to rabbits (as in bunnies) while the second half was themed to mechanical machinery and hospital-like monsters. Something of a deranged doctor. Even if the actors improved throughout the month, the story (in all likelihood) did not. It is a shame that it felt like all of the theming and money was put into getting you into the door, then once you paid and entered, the experience decreased. However, there was great entertainment outside of the attraction and many good photo ops. Obviously not worth driving an hour to see. Only visit if you live within the city limits of Tacoma and you really like haunted houses. read more
