The restaurant was bustling and we thought nothing about being "ignored" but my wife insisted that we walk to the main entrance and get in line. We were shocked when the front end staff found no reservations under my wife's name. Thankfully, "Shaker" had noted our earlier visit with my wife's service animal and had made a handwritten to the affect that we had a dog. Whew, crisis averted thanks to "the man", Shaker and his attention to detail! Dinner was uneventful and the service by Franco was exceptional. We enjoyed the bourbon glazed Brussel sprouts before our entrees; she had the 8 oz tenderloin and I had the osso bucco. Everything was terrific and the pace, leisurely. Someone from a company we work with in the area had been in town for months and become a regular here, so my 2nd visit was even better. On my 1st visit, someone recommended the tenderloin steak tips, so I decided to save the famous pizza for the 2nd visit. Good call - the steak tips were solid. On 2nd visit (with regular leading the way), we went with the cheeseburger pizza, which sounded kinda weird, yet... gotta try something new, soooo... we did! And it was awesome. So good - never had anything like it before. Got cheese curds on the side, which were also stellar. There were pickle buckets that had what looked like black mold on them. The ice buckets were rarely cleaned, and I personally saw a bug in the ice that was being kept for serving drinks. There were also constantly flies around the bar and other areas of the building. There were rodent traps around the building that, from what I saw, weren't being checked regularly. At one point, a dead rodent was left in a trap long enough that it started to decompose and caused a noticeable smell in the building. I understand that no bar is going to be perfect and that bugs or mice can happen, but these weren't just one time things from what I saw. Seeing these issues continue without being properly dealt with was concerning to me. I'm not writing this to be spiteful or to get anyone in trouble. I just think customers deserve to know what I personally witnessed while I worked there. Hopefully management takes the cleaning and pest issues more seriously.
