So we headed out to Natural Grocers and they do have them. I've decided to look for Duck Fat and yes they have them. I use it to cook. It has K2 Vitamin properties and you know what they say, its better to eat your food than taking supplements. But if you got only supplements why not. I also bought MCT oil and my mom also bought Jarrows: Glutathione supplements. We really loved it here. I just ran out of Duck Fat, I am due again to return and get a new jar. I should stock them up.

I love the small store layout, so it doesn't feel overwhelming and the food is usually 10/10. However, while I understand they are pressured to be fast when checking out and that's totally fine. I hate small talk, I don't appreciate the cashier (one specific girl) throwing out items into the cart without a care. Things that you typically shouldn't just toss in Willy nilly and 9 times out of 10 she's extremely rude and gives nasty looks. I actively avoid her when she's on register.

Working behind the counter was Ms. Jenna. She greeted us with a warm smile and a friendly, welcoming attitude that made us feel right at home. She kindly let us know that if we needed anything, all we had to do was ask. We took our time wandering through the store, looking at all the unique items they had to offer. I couldn't leave empty-handed, so I picked up two bags of their chipotle-flavored pecans as souvenirs for my brothers. Whether they'll share them with anyone else is another story entirely. It's a local grocery store with some locations in Dallas (and one in Waxahachie) but this is the first time I've been into an Ann's. This location is on the bottom floor of the 101 Center apartments facing Abrams St. It's right next to City Hall, the Downtown Library, Levitt Pavilion, Inclusion Coffee, etc. Ann's is larger than a convenience store but definitely smaller than a Whole Foods or Sprouts. Nevertheless, they have a pretty decent assortment of food, drinks, household goods, and supplements that fall under the broad natural grocery category. They have a nice selection of local and specialty beers if you're looking for something to take to one of the Levitt Pavilion concerts. They even carry several products I've never seen at other natural grocers. Some products are a bit pricey but most of them are comparable to what you'll pay at one of the larger chains like Whole Foods, Sprouts, or Target. There's also a free rewards program you can sign up for at the register and coupons you can sign up for on their website. Everyone is nice and helpful in the store. The manager even offered to try to get in some items in I was looking for. Definitely check out Ann's and support your local natural grocery store!

The business owner refused to refund or exchange the item, insisting it wasn't his fault. For an $18.00 product, this level of inflexibility and lack of empathy was surprising and unnecessary. As a business owner, he writes off losses every year, so accommodating a clearly defective item should not have been an issue. This kind of treatment makes me not want to patronize this establishment again, and I will be sure to let others know how they choose to operate.
