We picked some zucchini, watermelon, onions, potatoes, local honey, banana bread, tomatoes, a huge cucumber, and some mangoes (not sure if those were local.

Why 5 stars? Because this was a fun family outing…read more --- --- --- I drove by Atkinson Farm a year or two ago and always had it in the back of mind as a place to visit, ever since. Recently, we saw them share on Facebook that they had some strawberries ready for picking and we basically hopped out of bed and headed over there. You pay $3 per person and $2 per bucket to enter. My wife waited in life while I took our son to play on the playground, which he really enjoyed. Once she was done, we headed back to the strawberries. There were several areas you could choose from, and it was pretty obvious which areas had been picked over already and which hadn't. Some sections would only have a few decent strawberries, while others were full of only the biggest and brightest. We nearly filled up two buckets and it was only $24. Sure, we had to pick them and wash them, but we had enough strawberries to last us an eternity. And they were pretty tasty too. The market where you pay for the berries after also had other various produce items and meats. I added on a jar of pickles on top of the strawberry haul. We will probably have to make this an annual tradition!

The strawberries had no flavor. Zero. I could not believe I had just picked two baskets full and…read morewhen I got them home and cleaned and tasted them (many of them as I thought it must be just a few like that), but none I tasted and none I gave to family members to taste had any flavor. The next time I pick strawberries you can bet I'll be tasting them in the field.

Sabra Farm - I drove there just to get eggs with the bloom on (unwashed, which can be sold if labeled such). Can be left unrefrigerated on counter.

One of the first things I took off the shelf to try based on an owner recommendation was the organic fermented garlic pickle mixture in a jar. I couldn't wait to take it home and open it up and take a little sample. It's spicy and warm and garlicky and just absolutely delicious, the kind of umami flavoring that good chefs and cooks look for. I'm making a Duo pasta dish today (pasta dumped in a large bowl that has a white cheese sauce on one side and a delicious tomato marinara sauce on the other, mix that up with a little grated Romano), and I can't wait to add that fermented garlic pickle mixture to the marinara, it's going to be amazing! I chose the sauce that had the carrot in it because that is an Italian grandmother's secret for making a delicious sweet marinara "gravy". The other WOW item I found and bought was the locally made sweet consisting of shredded phyllo, pistachio, and all covered in chocolate. I'm not really a chocolate lover, but I promise you that it was fabulous! There is a second a little adjacent room that they use for a little gift store type of environment and I loved the fact that I could buy two pairs of what looked like very comfortable knitted slippers made by people in the local church. I bought lemons, an absolutely gorgeous huge firm heirloom tomato, organic chicken and two types of lamb sausage, what looked like some great premade burger patties that are larger than the usual (very glad about that!), lemons and one of their three house Italian tomato sauces. The couple is dedicated to wellness and supporting local producers, we're very helpful in answering my many questions, they are very kind, and I can't wait to go back to try more things.

The parking is a little tight so I would suggest going earlier to when they open up. It seems like its very community like there most of the customers seemed to know each other as well as the owner. So when I entered in (looking somewhat lost) the owner was kind enough to walk me through what was where and answer any questions I had. The fresh eggs and bacon were enough for me to come out again however they have so much selection fresh veggies, beef bacon (didn't even know that was a thing). The site is on the main page so I would suggest checking that out ahead of making your trip out here. The owner and staff were engaging and helped me with my selections. The staff was helpful and patient with all my questions which made it easier to make selections and make hurried choices. If you want to try out some fresh farm food I highly recommend Victoria's Natural Market especially the bone chicken broth (they have a beef broth), bacon, and farm eggs.
