Atkinson Farms is such a cute and family friendly spot. The staff in the front office are very welcoming. We came out to pick some strawberries and had a blast! They have a great shaded area with picnic tables where you could sit down and enjoy picnicking while the kiddos play on the playground. Definitely recommend bringing the family and kiddos out for a fun day on the farm.

First let me just say upon entering the building there were three young girls working not one of them said welcome In how can we help not knowing if it's that person first time are what I had to say hello to them then I ask about the strawberries and the response was unbelievable also maybe it would be helpful to post on the site when strawberry season ends so people don't have to make a blank trip not everyone likes berries! My first time visiting I probably will never go back it's a shame that my experience had to be like this! Over all the property looks like it could be a great place to have a good time if presented that way...

    Sandpit area

I brought my kids to pick blackberries and they had a great time. This small farm is great for a quick outdoor adventure that helped teach about farming. A big plus was the playground, the sandpit, the covered patio area, and the live donkey. I recommend you bring bug spray though. The mosquitos caused our trip to be cut a bit short.

Beautiful farm located in Spring with fresh fruits and berries. Playground for the kids and seasonal items for picking. Make sure to check out their website for the current harvest.

    Picking strawberries and having fun

I had a wonderful time picking strawberries with my husband! Even though it was towards the end of the season we had a nice time gathering whatever was left. The produce inside was also wonderful! Loved the honey jalapeño mustard and the blue cheese stuffed olives. 10/10 would go again

WE LOVE IT HERE! We went to Froberg's Farm in Alvin, TX in the past and wanted to find something closer since we live in Spring. And we found this gem. 10/10. Very family oriented and friendly, this is one of the first things we noticed after parking. One of the staff member's named Teresa is very sweet, greeted us once we parked and showed us where to go. The parking is plentiful. The strawberries are $3.99/lb. The hours are slightly different from the sign. The staff member inside told us they close at 1:30PM on weekends and close at 5:30PM on weekdays. Also, at least during right now, staff mentioned if you bring the bucket back next month - you can pick the blackberries & don't have to purchase another bucket. They have fresh vegetables, milk, canned items & drinks available for purchase inside. There's a nice sized playground with lots of swings, slides, etc. for the kiddos & there's a covered patio area with benches and tables for shade/to hang out while kids play, if needed. We also saw a donkey! We'll definitely be back & SO glad this farm is up the street from us.

We love to come here and pick berries! I always buy some fresh produce on my way out as well. I love how convenient it is, and they have nice well kept facilities. Its great to come and have family fun while supporting a local business at the same time! Win win!

Who knew that produce boxes could be so much fun? (So I had to start off the new year with my first review from Atkinson Farms). Have been picking up fruit and veggie boxes from Atkinson Farms for the past few months at Local Foods and the Dish Society. Filled with seasonal local products, like red and golden beets, dinosaur (lacinato) kale, carrots, winter and summer squash, Brussels sprouts, turnips, melons, red peppers, cabbage and more, it has been a challenging culinary adventure cooking with the latest harvest. Fast forward to the holidays and trips to the Urban Harvest Farmers Market where Mike Atkinson brings a large selection of his latest and freshest crops every Saturday, rain or shine. So nice to be able to make a customized box of goodies. Want cauliflower? Choose from purple, orange or white. Love radishes? Pick watermelon, French breakfast or daikon white. Add some broccoli, butternut squash and purple, sweet and white potatoes to complete a very full produce box. Was also so nice to chat to Mike about what to grow and when to plant in my own backyard garden. Thanks for the tips on onions and tomatoes. The onions are thriving. The farm up in Spring will have an open house in March. Can't wait to visit and check out their market and U-pick garden. Until then, I'll be picking up their delicious Farmers Market boxes closer to home.

Bought buckets $2 each. You can bring your own though

Took all 3 of our kids there. Absolutely loved it. Spent half the day there. The playground was awesome and me and daddy had a blast picking strawberries. Got a couple more things at their farmers market on the way out. Highly recommend.

The tomatoes are awesome, the help is another issue, not friendly whatsoever. Somewhat rude, can't even thank you for your purchase.

Looking for farm-fresh produce? Local honey? Homemade preserves? This is THE place…read more I have been coming here for years. As soon as they open in the spring until closing at the end of August, I am here at least twice per week. There is nothing like the taste of locally grown, pesticide-free produce: *Corn is absolutely delicious. Worth the extra cost, and remember that these will not be picture-perfect ears because no pesticides are used. Snap off or cut off the top if you find a little worm and remember that this is what you do in exchange for natural produce. *Watermelons are addictive. Scrumptious! *Cantaloupe: sugar-sweet. Grab it when they get it, otherwise you'll miss them because they sell fast! *Red potatoes are WAY better than what you'll get in the grocery store. These reds make hands-down the best mashed potatoes you will ever eat. *Tomatoes (either from their farm or other local farms): nothing like what you get in any grocery store. These ARE tomatoes. *Squash: zucchini, butternut, acorn, gold bar and others. The flavors explode in your mouth! *Eggplant: the regular or Japanese (when they have it) variety has the most distinct flavor whether you're making parmesan, grilling it or frying it. *Greens: kale and other greens. Super tender! *Cabbage: makes the best coleslaw you will ever eat. Stock up on local honey before the end of summer, too. Honey lasts forever, and they will be sold out come August. Support local business! Super-friendly staff and phenomenal produce. You can't go wrong.

One of the first things I took off the shelf to try based on an owner recommendation was the organic fermented garlic pickle mixture in a jar. I couldn't wait to take it home and open it up and take a little sample. It's spicy and warm and garlicky and just absolutely delicious, the kind of umami flavoring that good chefs and cooks look for. I'm making a Duo pasta dish today (pasta dumped in a large bowl that has a white cheese sauce on one side and a delicious tomato marinara sauce on the other, mix that up with a little grated Romano), and I can't wait to add that fermented garlic pickle mixture to the marinara, it's going to be amazing! I chose the sauce that had the carrot in it because that is an Italian grandmother's secret for making a delicious sweet marinara "gravy". The other WOW item I found and bought was the locally made sweet consisting of shredded phyllo, pistachio, and all covered in chocolate. I'm not really a chocolate lover, but I promise you that it was fabulous! There is a second a little adjacent room that they use for a little gift store type of environment and I loved the fact that I could buy two pairs of what looked like very comfortable knitted slippers made by people in the local church. I bought lemons, an absolutely gorgeous huge firm heirloom tomato, organic chicken and two types of lamb sausage, what looked like some great premade burger patties that are larger than the usual (very glad about that!), lemons and one of their three house Italian tomato sauces. The couple is dedicated to wellness and supporting local producers, we're very helpful in answering my many questions, they are very kind, and I can't wait to go back to try more things.
