Do you like getting calls from people who tell you "they have an appointment with you" as your morning call without ever having made an appointment? (an appointment to them is something they and their company decide is an appointment.They pick day and time. They let you know what it is the day of. Really, is that something you need to get your pretty head involved in?) Do you want a company who believes that waiting till the last minute to try to "swing by" and see your loved one is a best practice? If you are headed to the doctor and they call you, they will push to see you in the few minutes that are available because that is "all they have." Do you want a company that tries to push services on you even when told no by using a sales tactic of "Well your doctor ordered it?" My doctor ordered it in case we needed it. We don't need it. We don't need the scare tactic that we are refusing doctors "orders". I am glad my doctor made it very clear to me why it was ordered and easily could be refused. Would you like a company that can't be bothered when you mess up their average by your loved one being hospitalized "too much". You can't slow down their flow by getting "sick". They are trying to run a health care skilled home nursing business here and they ain't got time for that! (sick people hurt profits!) Do you like errant therapist knocking on your door because their company hasn't communicated to them that your loved one is in the hospital and has been for a week? Why they would not let their therapists know and not have them roaming around needlessly? Do you like give concise two sentence instructions that are ignored by 90% of the staff? Stuff like "Please call the day before you want to come out. You can best reach me at this number." Sentences like these are feckless wishes of fools. If you love the above things, then AccentCare is a company you want! They give you all this in spades. Who needs communication and professionalism when you can have AccentCare? We did appreciate a couple of the employees. They were good at their jobs and we are thankful for their services. However, you can tell from the top down this company is as poorly run as it gets. Poor time management and poor communication...but mostly, poor core values.

She first visited another Concentra location, where she was told her insurance would be be accepted at the Thornton Parkway clinic, so she drove there expecting to receive care. She arrived at approximately 4:00 p.m. After reviewing the clinic's hours afterward, we learned that the normal last-patient cutoff is generally between 4:15 and 4:30 p.m. Despite arriving within that window, she was told they had stopped seeing patients at 3:30 p.m. If that was the case that day, why was she sent there in the first place? The front desk staff was rude, dismissive, and showed no compassion. My wife wasn't looking for special treatment--she was simply seeking medical care while in significant pain. Instead, she was made to feel like an inconvenience. What concerned us the most was being told that she would be "better off going to the emergency room" without anyone checking her vital signs, asking meaningful questions about her symptoms, or having her evaluated by a medical provider. Recommending that someone go to the emergency room without any medical assessment is both frustrating and concerning. She wasted valuable time driving from one Concentra location to another because of inconsistent communication, only to be turned away while in pain. That's time she could have spent receiving appropriate care elsewhere. Healthcare starts with treating people with respect and compassion. Unfortunately, that is not what she experienced at this location. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and addresses both the poor communication between clinics and the lack of professionalism and empathy shown at the front desk. No patient seeking help should be treated this way.

The nurses are very rude, inconsiderate and seem unable to do their job. The center looks ghetto and like it is struggling to stay afloat. The doors are not automatic doors and everyone there is way too busy to help. I literally almost fell down because a customer was walking through quickly while I had just opened the door, he bust through and I almost fell. When I went back to get X-rays I had to ask 3 times before getting super firm and demanding a wheel chair. Then when I got into the x-ray room the rudest nurse, grabbed my foot and was pulling it back and forth without out care or consideration for my injury. Finally, the exam was over and I needed to check out. When I checked out, I told the nurse what the doctor had said. She only scheduled 1 of my apts and I had to call back to get the other apt on made. I have also received medication for a knee when it is my ankle that is injured. I was never told I was being sent medication and so all I can assume is the nurses were too busy and accidentally sent me a medication meant for another patient. I never wanted to go back to this clinic again but had per workers comp claim. It was the same rude nurses, the same attitude of too busy to care and the same nurses unable to read and follow basic instructions. I am now attending Peak and WILL NEVER step foot in a Concentra again.

My dad requires a lot more care than my mother does and moving them. My dad is thriving too, and has been working with the therapy people that are in this place. The food is wonderful and I try to eat here every weekend with my folks.

Memory care (MC) only has 2 sizes of studios--385 and 520 sq feet. The views you have contribute to the price as well. They also have Assisted Living with their Essentials support, provides a bridge between AL and MC. Food is pretty nice. Heritage week was being offered where unique foods from other areas around the world were being featured. Service was pretty great. Kind, compassionate when talking to residents. Beautiful set-up with dishes being offered on display as you walk in. Love the front desk team. All super nice and energetic. Very knowledgable and helpful. A nice sized theater for movies. Arts and crafts room. Library space. Outside deck/seats and tables with a very calming and beautiful view. Exercise class in the morning and other activities throughout the day. From the moment we walked into Cherry Hills Assisted Living and Memory Care (CHAL), we knew it was special. The atmosphere felt warm and welcoming, and the staff truly seemed to care about the residents. My aunt moved in about a year ago, and it was a huge adjustment - she had been living independently and had no plans to move. The team at CHAL went above and beyond to help her settle in and feel comfortable in her new home. They were patient, kind, and always took the time to make sure she was doing okay. Now, a year later, she's happy and thriving. She enjoys the staff and the beautiful facility. It's such a relief knowing she's well cared for and surrounded by people who genuinely care about her. We're so grateful to everyone at CHAL for making what started as a stressful transition into such a positive experience. I can't recommend them enough!

Having been a Caregiver for those afflicted Alzheimer's and Dementia for a number of years now, I…read morehave seen many memory care facilities throughout the city; my experience with this Brookdale care center was worse than awful. I had a client there several years ago, and I have never been so disgusted by what I saw, experienced, or felt. Maybe things are different now, but back then, it was really bad. What I saw: the residents at that time, were not supervised by staff when I was there, and were literally banging their walkers into each other. As they got more and more agitated, I chose to step in since no one else was around to. The residents were up wandering around at all hours of the night, and seemed to be free to go in each other's rooms; I, myself, witnessed other Brookdale inhabitants in my client's room. Some of her personal items turned up missing, and management couldn't account for either the missing items or intrusions; despite repeated requests, they did nothing about either. What I experienced: 99% of the time when I arrived, the residents were pounding on the locked door and shouting "get me out;" when I opened the door, they would rush me and try to leave. I I would do my best to stop them, but couldn't alone control disorderly dementia invalids who nearly bowled me over as I tried to get to my client. Once again, there was no staff in sight. What I felt: my stomach was in knots and I was constantly worried about my client...about her safety, health and welfare. We chose to move her to a different facility where she thrived. Interestingly enough, a staff member from Brookdale predicted that my client would get "kicked out" of any establishment for her behaviors. Instead, she did better than ever. It goes to show that positive attitudes, patience, understanding and staff members who are there can change anything

After having experienced two grandparents in the general retirement area, and one of those grandparents later in memory care, I can say with confidence that the family chose well with Morning Star. Yes. There are always difficulties in communication, insurance, billing, and everything else that you might expect from dealing with any sort of business entity at all. This simply comes with the territory. But what makes me happy with how my grandparents lived out their time at Morning Star is the respect, dignity, and help that they got from a great staff. If my grandfather was feeling ill, the staff would bring soup to his room. If he needed help with medicine, there were services to assist in managing his pills. Finally when he died, the staff was helpful to the family in planning for my grandmother. In memory care, my grandmother was taken to every meal, she was brought to the daily activity session, and was never just left in her room to fade away. Her defiance was met with patience, and the staff always let us know about anything she might need (socks, pants, etc.) The last few years of someone's life is an uncomfortable topic. Death is an uncomfortable topic. But I'm so happy that Morning Star made my grandparents last days more bearable.
