The person who took my international passport picture was polite and knowledgeable. He knew right away what photo dimensions were needed. He is so polite, gives his all, and is so joyful to work with. My husband doesn't really smile well in photos... but John's personable personality quickly warmed him up and we had some great engagement photos of my husband. His package prices are in the mid range. not too cheap and not too expensive. But he went WAYY over what he was paid for. He volunteered to come to our rehearsal so that everyone feels comfortable around him the next day. He showed up early to take family photos before the ceremony. and he stayed after until EVERYTHING was done. and quality! He asked me what kind of style I want. While the photography was well done, when I tried to contact Lisa about…read morepurchasing my parents' wedding photos from over a decade ago, she outright refused to do anything other than an all cash purchase, was difficult, and threatened to throw away the records if we did not pay in cash. It felt tantamount to extortion. While I fully support what photographer do and understand that a lot of work goes into the final product, the outright refusal to work together -- or worse accept any type of non-cash payment -- shows that Michael Carr Photography does not care about long term customer care. We would never consider using them again in the future knowing this is the way past clients are treated. (Not to mention, the wedding photos in question put them on the COVER of The Knot at the time. They got their money's worth in referrals alone.) Choose another photographer who works in the modern age and cares about their customer's experience. Lisa and Michael do not. EDIT: Per the response it's clear that customer service is terrible, still. If they wanted to rectify it, they'd reach out. Karen started the business and has been doing this for 25 years. I met with Debbi who does this because she loves her work. They enjoy doing candid, but not intrusive shots, and are bossy during posed photos and use digital cameras. If I remember correctly, you do own the rights to the photos i.e. your proofs. The office has an indoor portrait studio and a half-acre garden for outdoor photographs. They can shoot bridal and engagement sessions, and weddings. They also do individual, groups, businesses, children, expectant mothers, and pets. The only problem was that they cost a lot more than I wanted to spend on photography. Photography is important to me--I want good pictures of this one day dangit! But 3 hours of coverage with online viewing, album, and parent album, and bridal and engagement sessions was $3650 before taxes. $500 deposit is due at booking, balance due 2 weeks before wedding. They do give a 10% discount for paying by cash or check.

My 12 year old daughter commented that she was fun to work with Barfield is not cheap, but you get what you pay for and the electronic turnaround for proofs to review on you PC was in less than an hour--how about that for service. The location and setting options are expansive. If you need important photos taken use Banfield and not uncle Lou and his iPhone.
