Unfortunately what I walked out of the salon was far from what we had discussed and FAR from the color swatches we chose & 0 ashy tone. after she initially put my color on and washed me & began dryong me I could tell something was wrong. She kept making remarks about how she wasn't sure why the color/toner didn't grab and why it wasn't the color we agreed on. She also continued to ask me if I liked the root color brown - I didn't mind it, but it definitely wasn't the deeper brown that we agreed on. She then stated she could try to lighten some of my areas up and reapply the toner and see if it would grab on lighter pieces better. I specifically stated I didn't want large streaks I'd rather it look more melted/blended in if we did lighten bc I don't want thar feel, i wanted a bayalage feel. So I trusted her and she began highlighting areas of my hair. Mind you there's no color melting and I'm being foiled. She rinses me out and begins drying me and immediately it's a nightmare. Worse than before. I have a HUGE white streak that is not symmetrically placed at the front of my face - I love a money piece, but this is an out of place wide white streak. My hair is also noticeably damaged from this in this area as well. She states she feels bad and she can't allow me to pay her for her services because she knew the color was not what I wanted. I asked her to let me pay her for the cut and the eyebrow waxing. My total was 57.00 and I still left her a 26.00. She continued to state that she wasn't sure what happened. She was going to talk to "someone" and would definitely be reaching out to me, I told her I appreciated that and her time and we would get it figured out. It had been 2 entire days and I've heard nothing from her or anyone else at the salon for that matter. I am now upset because I was hoping she'd at least try to make her errors right. Feels very shady & honestly very unprofessional... she knew I was disappointed in what I walked out with 4.5 hours later. She is a sweet girl, but inexperienced and I would highly advise against using her for your service - pics of inspo vs what I got attached.

After moving back to the great Charleston area, specifically Summerville I googled salons. I'm happy to report I found that needle in the haystack! Located in a safe and easily accessible part of town, Attitudes Salon is the best choice for men's haircuts (sorry ladies, I can only address the men reading this). The reservations are easily made on the simple to navigate website and they'll even text you reminders. Walking up, I'm not sure what I was expecting for "Attitude," was it a biker, princess, or a pinky up attitude? The answer is the attitude what you'll leave with once your hair is finished, that of confidence and satisfaction. The inside is that of any other salon; shampoos, conditioners for sale and use here, obviously seats and stations to do their work and a cashier counter to name a few. The ladies here are very friendly, even at the early hours in the morning while all being able to smile with a energetic "Attitude." For my experience I had a wonderful stylist named Jami. Fair warning I had no clue who she was but as soon as I saw her, I remembered her from high school and while she's changed and no longer 21 (but 22....) she hasn't changed. What impresses me the most about stylist is they're also wonderful conversationalist, a good skill to have while passing the time. Jamie cut my hair with love, speed and accuracy while being able to hold a conversation, offer advice and most importantly take and give good jabs as in jokes. Honestly, she made my time fly by as I didn't have a care in the world but most importantly, when she was done my hair looked exactly like the photo I showed her. In wrapping up, Attitudes is a wonderful salon that takes pride in making their customers feel as if they're the focal point and striving to meet your expectations. The key is they go out of the way to make customers feel special by listening to your story, offering grounded insight and laughing at your jokes while styling your hair that is better than anyone else can offer for an affordable amount of money. I'm glad to have reconnected with Jami and took a chance with Attitudes b/c they now have a loyal customer. I made an appointment with Rachel for hair and makeup on Saturday, the day of the wedding, as well as an appointment for the prior Wednesday because I desperately needed a haircut as well as color. I was pretty nervous, as this was a leap of faith that I'm not used to taking. I explained the situation to Rachel, and she immediately put me at ease. We discussed the style (up-do) that I wanted for the wedding, as she assessed what would be the best course to get the results that I wanted. I had been coloring my own hair and it needed a serious amount of correction. She took a few "before" pics and then she got started. She began by blunt cutting the dead ends off, and removing some of the length, about 4 inches give or take. She began a very long correction and coloring process that lifted some of the awful color that I had ended up with and blended several beautiful colors in a balayage process. She then proceeded with a real haircut, and style. The total process took a fair amount of time, and I was in a hurry to get to the hotel and meet up with my sister, so I rushed out, and hurried through a few pictures that her assistant wanted to take. She showed them to me, and I asked to see the "befores". OMG!! The change was nothing short of epic! She hadn't changed the color in a drastic way, but the layering of beautiful tones as well as the best haircut I've had in many years was simply amazing. The confidence she gave me as I started a four day wedding weekend with people I had yet to meet was off the charts, and meant more to me than she could possibly know. Now I'm just trying to figure out how to afford flying to Charleston every six weeks or so because I don't want anyone else touching my hair!
