I called Sandi to have a spa day for me and my bridesmaids the day before our wedding a few months before our wedding (April 22, 2012). She was very sweet and asked lots of questions about my skin, my now husband's skin and the girls. She was full of information and very willing to work around my schedule on the 21st. My husband and I went in for a "pre-facial" and a cleansing about a month before the wedding. Our skin looked spectacular afterwards! I'm a picky person when it comes to facials, and I've had a lot of mediocre ones in my quest to find a first class facial here in San Diego. Please don't be uncomfortable getting a massage by a man. I have had 3 massages by Ken and have never had better results! I spent a year going to Massage Envy with okay results. Ken's massage technique is so comfortable and painless that I initially thought it wouldn't do much for the pain in my neck & shoulders. Instead I was amazed at how much better I felt! He's very professional and I never felt uncomfortable at all. I don't HAVE to have a massage every 2-3 weeks like I used to. I stay pain free much longer now. This is my second review and my first in the "new" location. I drove around for a while looking for it (it's nestled in a tiny office building off FLetcher) and it was worth searching for. Sandy is very skilled and makes you feel welcome. The place is down-to-earth and comfortable, though small. I had a facial and a foot treatment that were both through and indescribable. Prices are half what you'd pay at a higher-end spa, and I prefer the low-key atmosphere here. I bought a massage package from Groupon for a massage,which included massage, hot stone massage, dry brush, foot scrub and wine. My Massage Therapist was Sandy Munoz. She was amazing. She really listened what I told her and was very attentive to my special needs. She really took extra time to make sure I was happy. She would ask if the pressure was to my liking. I made my appt on line, which was very easy to use. I got an email reminder which was very helpful. I will be going back to Sandy again and use the special for the same service that the spa provides for a better price. I definitely recommend and will be back. They recently started offering appointment scheduling online via Schedulicity. I received an e-mail and went ahead and scheduled for a wax for the same day but a few hours later. I show up for my appointment and there's no one there! I was upset to say the least since I took time out of my very busy Saturday to go. Well, I called the number and got Sandi's voicemail. I left a message that I was out front waiting and would wait another 5 minutes. I didn't get a call back until 3 hours later!! I didn't answer my phone but she left a message saying that the person who I was scheduled with didn't look at her online schedule before she left the spa and she would be happy to make an appointment for me on Monday....hah! I never called back and would never return to a place that treats their customers second rate. There are plenty of other places that are more professional and offer great service. The only reason I even went to There She Glows is because it's close to my house and I received the e-mail about scheduling online, which is convenient, but only if they check it!!! read more

Terrible customer service! I purchased a Groupon for massage/foot scrub. I called to make back-to-back appointments for my daughter & myself, because there is no way to do that on their website. When I called, Sandi said "text me because I am going to grab some lunch". Seemed odd, but I texted, she responded, and we set up an appointment. Tried to add on a pedicure the day of and lo and behold, she did not have us on the books at all! She offered me an appointment the next day, which did not fit our schedules. Basically, I was told "too bad". Besides that, this same service is listed for a lower price on their menu than the Groupon cost. In a business where customer service is key, I'm not sure how they will succeed. I'm requesting a refund from Groupon. read more

STAY AWAY FROM THIS FILTHY POORLY RUN BUSINESS! I bought a groupon package for my wife's birthday. I called numerous times but nobody would pick up the freaking phone. I want to thank you for ruining her special day. I also went by the spa and it was closed during business hours. I have to say that when I looked inside it looked disgusting filthy. I saw left over food and trash all over the floor. Now that's disgusting! Shouldn't that be a health code violation! The filthiest spa I've ever seen!!! Went in for a peel, facial, and foot massage that my fiancée purchased for me off of Groupon. It was awkward to say the least. The girl didn't introduce herself (I found out after everything was done that her name is Alexandria), and barely spoke the entire time. To top it off, she had what sounded like a horrible cold, because she was sniffling and coughing the entire time. I bought the two for one Groupon deal. The person who was with me had a very enjoyable and relaxing massage. She loved the woman who did her massage. Me. Not so much. First, we were to be offered a glass of wine before the massage. That never happened. Second, the fairly new masseuse was obviously not into his job at all. Barely 10 minutes into my massage the music stopped. And he never started it back up. Then he told me he would have to check his phone to keep track of the time as there was no clock in the room. Well, he must have a terrible sense of time because he checked it multiple times and each time he did was for more than one to two minutes. Third, a foot massage was to be part of my massage but when my time was up I was told, "sorry, I ran out of time." Maybe had he not been checking his phone so much he wouldn't have. He went so far as to tell me after my massage that he was new and that he was checking his phone because four people booked with him and he was responding. Seriously??? I also told him at the beginning that I like to not talk when getting a massage. What did he do. Talk till I stopped responding. I was tense throughout the massage and was greatly disappointed. When I got home I emailed the owner to tell her of my experience. She was quick to respond and apologize. She offered me a free massage with someone else and said she would send me another Groupon so I could take advantage of her offer. I never received it. After a few weeks of waiting for it, I emailed the owner again. This time I was ignored. I tried another email but was again ignored. I would not recommend this place as it clearly is not professionally run and in my situation, it was more than apparent that the customer is not important. Save your money and your time. DO NOT buy Groupons as a gift for others for this place. It's a waste of money and time. Such a shame as it is close to my home and I'd hoped to have it become my go to place for massages. Instead, it has become my example of where not to go. I gave this one star because it didn't offer a negative number. Could I have gone into a deficit, I would have. I am a business owner and were this happening at my establishment, I would make sure the disappointed customer was taken care of and that I turned their negative impression of my business into a positive one. That is what builds clientele. Not ignoring them. This place is not even close to what I was hoping it would be. read more
