Women's Locker Area

New resort spa at Jamul Casino. Many things to like about it, and some areas that can be improved. Good: New beautiful facility with lots of amenities. We tried everything; sauna, steam room, hot tub, massage chaise in lounge, terrace seating. All very nice and new. Bad: Co-ed hot tub, small outdoor terrace (only shade, no sun from 11:30AM - 4PM during our visit) no hooks to hang towels/robes near any of the amenities and spa guest do not have access to the hotel pool. We were told the pool is for hotel guests only. Our visit was within 2-3 weeks of them first opening but they still have some kinks to work out. The biggest issue was not having access to stairs to get to the spa. My friend has a phobia of confined spaces. She never takes the elevator. We spent 30 minutes trying to get approval to use the stairs. Per the Security Director, she could not use the stairs to go UP one floor to the spa but they would allow her to use the stairs to go DOWN one floor to the lobby. MAKES NO SENCE AT ALL. We considered cancelling appointments but worried we'd be charged a no show fee and she didn't want to ruin our day. She took the elevator but the incident put her in a bad place physically and emotionally, initially. We expected to enjoy a stress free day to reset and relax with a massage but because of the nonsensical issue with no access to stairs going up, it wasn't the best way to start our day. It took meds and some time for her to calm her nerves and the massage helped, too. We appreciated the concern and service from everyone in the spa and made the best of our day. The security issue is separate from the spa, but something to consider if going to this facility. In regards to the pool, even if they allowed spa guests to use, I don't know if stairs would have been available -- it's a rooftop pool.

Want a massage experience even better than you'd find at Glen Ivy or Murrieta Hot Springs? Come to…read moreSycuan. I brought a large group with me last weekend and they all said that their massages here were better than any others they've received before. I got a back, neck, and shoulder massage with Cody and he did a wonderful job. Before my massage he told me everything that I could expect during the massage (e.g., how he would pull lightly on my ankles because that effects the back). He was very communicative about everything and it made me feel very safe! The massage bed was also heated (which I have not experienced before at any other spa) and the head rest was very soft and comfortable. Towards the end of the massage, he used a peppermint balm on my neck and back called yoga balm. The coolness from the balm lingered for a while after my service and helped me stay relaxed while I went to the other rooms in the spa. The steam room: it was my first time using a steam room so I don't have anything to compare it to. But, it was a very large room where at least 8 people could fit comfortably. It was very warm in this room, so the ice cold towels right outside the room were a good touch. The sauna: I've avoided saunas my whole life because the first time I ever tried one it was very small and claustrophobic. I wanted to get the full experience at the spa this time, so I gave it a try. This sauna was quite large and did not feel claustrophobic. Overall: Everyone was so professional and kind. Kathleen and Kimberly helped us check out at the end and they were lovely. My only wishes were that they had more jacuzzis and that they had a mud mask/bath experience.

I actually didn't pack my makeup bag because I wasn't sure if it would be crowded/easy to get ready in the space. I definitely should have - the cute chairs and mirrors would be so perfect for me to set up shop. The facilities were so clean and comfortable. Only a few other ladies were using the facilities at the same time and anytime I changed I was the only one in the room. I was so comfortable and had an amazing massage. My husband and I took our friend for the first time to get a massage and his whole world was changed. I'm so glad this is the one we took him to because this is definitely a good impression. He and my husband loved the steam room. They stayed there the whole time. I enjoyed the dry sauna and was just ecstatic about the roomy showers. There is a frosted glass door and a nice area to derobe/get dressed without getting everything wet. Afterwards we chatted about our massage experience and while our friend and I loved our massages, my husband had a lot of modifications on the way his massage bed was set up (height/pillow location) and he had some requests on areas of work on his back that he felt could've been handled a bit better. Tho overall we all loved it and had a great time. The price is very good compared to similar resorts. I would love it if I didn't have to walk across a smoky casino to get there but it may just have to be worth it for this place.

Not much information there, but I seen a few photos and there was a number to contact. I called the number and Corrie answered right away. We discussed prices and options and I decided to give it a try and come in for a session. I called when I was on my way and she gave me an address, which my GPS showed as a 7-11. But as I got closer I called again and she directed me to some apartments close by. From the moment I walked in the door it was obvious that the photos from her website were either severely photo shopped or taken at least 6 or 7 years ago. Corrie is much older than she appears on her site. I came in and after a few minutes began the massage, if you could call it that. Her fingernails were about 3 inches long and made it very hard to actually give a massage. After getting there and finding she was much older than I thought and had nails too long to actually give a massage I then had too deal with her phone going off non-stop and her stopping every 10 minutes to answer or check her texts. Definitely not worth $200. And to top it off, for about a week after that I would receive random text messages from her that were obviously meant for other people. I actually has to block her number on my phone to get them to stop. Wish there was a way to give less than 1 star.

I tried salons in Alpine, El Cajon and Lakeside and always felt like the job was rushed and the paint was shoddy. Asking for a flower or small design always felt like pulling teeth, to the point to where I stopped asking. I wish I tried Native Dreams years ago. The salon is pretty and well kept. There was a glass of water waiting by my chair when I came in. Even tho I knew I was the last service of the day, and I booked last minute, I didn't feel like the job was rushed. The polish on my toenails is FLAWLESS. I've never been so happy about the paint on my toes. My nail tech was super friendly and we chatted the whole time, which made me feel more comfortable than the awkward silence I'm used to at other salons. I had been avoiding this salon because I thought it was a big corporate place, but it's family owned and operated. In all honesty, it was the best pedicure service I've had in years. Highly recommend.
