    Carolina BBQ wings
    Rhett B.

This is the original Things and Wings that has been in Dothan since 1992 with its wings, chicken fingers, and variety of burgers. Over these years, I have had mostly positive memories of Things and Wings and I am writing this review based on this one visit. I started off with Red Diamond Sweet Tea, but something about the tea tasted off. I ordered Monster Wing dinner. Yeah for Things and Wings including sides with their wing meals and not charging you for sides with the wings. There are so many sauces so I asked the waitress if I could sample 2 of them. She came through for me in a big way. She brought me very small slivers of chicken fingers with the sauces. I think the chicken fingers were the best of all! I chose the 2 sauces that I sampled (Miami Mojito and Bahama Mama), Teriyaki BBQ, and Carolina BBQ. The Bahama Mama was my favorite out of the bunch. It was exactly like Caribbean Jerk at Buffalo Wild Wings. The Miami Mojito was like a sweet and sour sauce. Carolina BBQ was a mustard BBQ sauce. Teriyaki BBQ is self-explanatory. So Things and Wings called this meal their Monster. I am thinking they are describing the number of wings you get with the meal because the size of some of the wings were pitifully small. I chose mashed potatoes and gravy and green beans. I enjoyed both sides but nothing special. On Monday night after 4pm, there is an All You Can Eat Special. Lots of sauces and choices at Things and Wings. The size of the wings were disappointing so I will go with chicken fingers next time.

So far these are the best wings I have found in town. Service is always pleasant and attentive. Love the deals they have too.

I love their boneless wings and all you can eat specials, but the price has consistently gone up over the years.

Our server was polite and greeted us shortly after we were seated. She brought waters over to the table and then gave us some time to look over the menu. The restaurant wasn't terribly busy, but it was busy enough to keep the two servers on in a study flow. While the location is nice. I did notice that there seems to be a lack of noise control as it was quite loud for my husband and I to hear each other over a two top table. I opted for the fried chicken with mashed potatoes and broccoli me while my husband chose the grilled ribeye with potatoes and brussels sprouts. My fried chicken was amazing! Had great seasoning. The mashed potatoes are really good and the broccolini was perfectly cooked for my liking. I would definitely order it again. My husband's ribeye was cooked perfectly to that medium , well temp. His potatoes were good but his brussels sprouts were a slight disappointment. They basically had no seasoning whatsoever and tasted like mush. It would've been better have they boil them and then put them into a cast iron for a little bit to get a little bit of crisp on them. Overall for a hotel restaurant, we found the location to be convenient and decent food.

Salad and tandoori chicken - tons of unsweetened tea that was fresh and yummy. Great portion sizes, good flavor and terrific service all at a reasonable price! A delicious meal in the hotel and being assured it's gluten free, along with fantabulous service- I could not have asked for more.

The nicely decorated dining room is super cozy. We tried the sweet potato fries as an appetizer- very crunchy with good taste. Not so dire about GF tho. When you walk in you are greeted by the hostess. And the poster that shows the dish here that made it in to the "100 must try dishes in Alabama". The decor feels Bristo Comfy. About 11 wooden tables, mostly 4-tops. White metal chairs that really solidify the decor. Love the photos on the walls, especially "our adventure". I loved the coffee menu, and tried the dark elephant. Dark mocha with peanut butter--- yes pls. And adult Reese's cup in a mug! I also ordered the soup and sando combo, which sounds kinda plain... until you see the soups and sandwiches to choose from. And ... it allows you to try the dishes they are most known for , the red pepper soup and chicken salad. Whatever you order here, you will love. And the service. TippityTopTalent!! They serve all the dishes with a smile and are just sweet!! As I sit here, enjoying my meal and pondering.. it feels like the more accessible KBC.
