HORRIBLE customer service! Although they're quick to approve just about anybody...they're also quick to rip you off and take their vehicle back the first chance they get. They DO NOT ANSWER THE PHONE!!!! You can call back to back the entire day and they will let it ring, pick up and hang up, send you to VM, and then call you back but hang up when you answer. I give NEGATIVE 100 stars. They're rude, inconsiderate, scam artist. What I found out recently was they have insurance on each vehicle and if the vehicle is picked up and not recovered by the customer for whatever reason..they're insurance will pay out the remaining balance that the customer owes on the loan..therefore the sooner they get it back the more money they get at the end of the day. I've done business with this company since 2015. Initially with my first car I had no problems at all. When the motor went out about a year later, they put me in a new car. This is when Johnny was over the maintenance department and Wendy was my account manager. They were the best. I paid the second car off with no problems. About 6 months later I traded in my Second car for a 3rd car. The dynamic of the customer service had drastically changed since cars #1 and #2. I have never missed a payment or paid late. I've never been threatened of repo or had an ill word to say until December 2024. I came down with COVID and was out of work for 2 weeks. I reached out to explain and ask for grace from my account manager Alexandria. She was the absolute worst. She was rude, ugly, and disrespectful. I think what bothered me the most is that she just doesn't know how to talk to people. Because you make payments you are beneath her is my impression. I escalated to the accounting Supervisor Mary Ann who has always been a straight shooter but for some reason, she sided with her staff instead of of listening to the recorded calls. I have escalated things all the way up to the owner and nothing was ever resolved. My husband went into the hospital for open heart surgery back in June 2025. The car I was purchasing broke down 2 days into this medical journey. They used a shady mechanic who trumped up the maintenance from $1000 to $6300 and refused to give a monetary break down. Mind you they (Alexandria, her associate, and MaryAnn- all 3) had threatened of "vehicle recovery" several times while the vehicle sat in my driveway broke down and unable to move. When I finally told them to come get it they refused and begged me to keep it. They have had this vehicle in their possession for over a month and still continue to call and harass me for payments. The customer service sucks, the complaint system they have in place sucks and all my years of loyalty, on time payments, and positive referrals of others meant nothing. I absolutely refuse to continue to do business with such people who will knowingly and purposely treat you inhumane. So we "sold" a car with Third Coast. We're moving and needed to sell our Honda Accord. We asked our "uncle" if he was wanted to buy it for the CarMax appraised offer of $2,500. It was a great price and we figured he would use it himself, sell to another family member, or a church friend. However, he called us a few days later saying his wife is allergic to the car, he fixed it up and then sold it for more money. We didn't care, good for him. But here's the catch. He has a check for $3,250 in my wife's name and wants my wife to cash it for him. This seemed odd to me, we thought it was his car now, why are we involved, so after a couple hours of yelling at each other in two different languages, I called Third Coast directly to get some answers I was directed to the sales manager Chris Mitchell, left him a message and he called me back within a couple hours. Turns out, a couple hours after my "uncle" bought the vehicle from us, with the Title in hand, he goes over to Third Coast to flip it for $750 more. He tried to get a check cut in his name but Third Coast refused because even though we signed the title over, it wasn't registered under his name. They'd only cut a check in my wife's name, if he provided my wife's ID (which we provided to him, unknowing all of this, assuming it had to do with a title transfer). So he received the check, waited a few days, and then called us with his made-up story. Anyways, we we learned our lesson about trying to be nice and selling a vehicle to family at a discount. Next time, we're just going to Third Coast for the extra $750 over CarMax appraisal. This would not have been sorted out without the help of Chris Mitchell. Thank you! read more

I Been doing business with third coast for a he past 15 years and every car I've bought from them always had issues I'm a ASE certified mechanic and i tried using the warranty they give me but there mechanic la are trash they can't figure out the issue if it's not an easy fix so I jus fix the issues my self jus these past 2 months I bought a car and not even a week later all the oil leaked out because there chafa as mechanics left the oil plug lose so that engine was knocking they had the car 2 weeks and all they wanted to do was replace the drain plug so i talked to my sells person and she got me in to a different car well this car was better but then I had the car washed and the windshield was leaking and all the electrical got wet and it shut down the system for protection they had the car for 2 weeks now and I called the shop Manager and he said they ordered a part but he didn't know if it was gonna wrk that shows that he doesn't even have faith in his own guys its easy to get a car there when u have credit issues and they know that so they sell trash cars to good people that are just trying to make it through the struggle doing business with them this time has hurt me financially because I have to pay others for a ride to work and taking a uber cost me $100 a day there taking there sweet time to fix it but they demand there payment when it's due they did offer me a loaner car but they told me to put full coverage on the broke don car it didn't make any sense because I was going to be driving a different car if my financial situation was not affected by this situation it wouldn't be an issue so if yall need a car and u have credit issues it's best to save up a good down payment and go to a dealership that has quality cars of course you have to out down almost half the price of the car wi credit issues but you get what u pay for so stay away from this place unless you have time and money to waste read more

Wendy has screwed me and lied about everything. She was supposed to change the date on my payments 3 or 4 months ago and it took her a month to tell me I needed to turn in check stubs. I took in my Hyundai Elantra to see if Third Coast would be willing to pay $750 over a Carmax offer, as advertised. That offer is not guaranteed and is dependent on the condition of your car. After the buyer assessed my car, he agreed to purchase for $750 over the Carmax offer. I came back a few days later to sell, and the process was as smooth as silk. They looked over the car again, gave the thumbs up, and processed the paperwork quickly. I was walking out with my check in record time. Everybody I talked to at Third Coast was pleasant and professional. A special shout-out to the Sales Manager who took it upon himself to help me out when I arrived early for the initial assessment of my car. He was busy but very nicely offered to call me when the buyer was available within the next 30 minutes (so I didn't have to wait at the dealership). He was as good as his word. Information was not available for it online so I made the drive from NW Austin to N Lamar today to speak to someone about it. I walk into the office area and the two girls sitting behind the counter do not even acknowledge me. I stood there for a few minutes thinking they would either greet me or some one a little more customer friendly would notice me. Didn't happen. This location was in Round Rock,Tx......yes there one on Lamar and in Round Rock,Tx. I went to Round Rock location and saw a car that hit my eyes and I liked the color and look good. I saw that the miles on the car was high for a price they were asking for. dealer and I went into the office and my mind is like it got high miles and price is wrong....I asked is there any other cars that fit to my budget and they says no don't worry toyota last long time. I asked is there any mechanical problem I could be aware of and they says NO. I bought a car from them before and it was good and I trusted them!!!! Not even a month after I got the car....I had to have the brakes done,new pads and new rotors which cost me 800 dollars and more bad news.......it would take 1,700 dollars more to get the car back to normal running condition. I was shock and like omg and I called the dealer told them what happen and what the cost be....they says sorry can't help ya. It get better....I kept calling and then we finally agree on something when I came to the shop back with the car, they backed out of the deal and I was struck with a car that was falling apart. I drove it for a year and 6 months finally car was so bad that I didn't trust driving it and they finally decided to help me into another car but start payment all over....I was like hahaha no no no no I am not starting a different payment on a different car. Don't come to this place to get a car. I hit a deer in my car. The insurance totalled the car and the dealership got paid. I was always on time with payments and thought they would work with me on getting something with no money down. FAT CHANCE! Last night my girlfriend's SUV would not start .So ,I told she could us my Truck, that I purchase at Third Coast Auto. Behold the darn would not turn on, the lights, radio, etc came on, but it would not start. I could here beeping sound ,that would go on and off. I notice a blinking red light underneath the dashboard. What had occur, the tracking device was activated and shut off the ignition. Keep this mind that am current on my truck payments ....I call Third Coast morning and they deactivated the device. I ask whom activated the device, I was told they did not know. I would think the person whom deactivated, could be the same person whom activate? What really piss me off, I ask for 24 hour # that I could call ,in case this ever happen again. They do not have one and I would need to wait, for them to open for business the next day hours 9am-6pm. I ask what if I had an emergency and needed to take someone or myself to the hospital? What would they do, there answer was call 911. I ask what if would of disable the device, if I needed the truck for an emergency. By far the WORST car company... Period!! Two weeks after purchasing a vehicle from Third Coast i have a flat on my front right tire. I was sold a car with a bent rim. Soon after my starter goes out. Third Coast wanted to charge me $400 to get it fixed. Soon after i lock my keys in the car... Once again no help. Brakes went out in the car 3 months after i purchased the car. Third coast still chose not to help. I'm behind a couple payments after all of this. After making a payment from being delinquent... I make a partial payment and my car gets towed the next day. I was just informed by my Godmother that they took advantage of my Godsister who is 18 years old. Why they took $2500 from her and want her to pay $240 every 2 weeks? Plus they used her friend's address who is also 18 years old and have her as the main buyer. I told my Godsister do not make any payments on the car and to turn it in. My daughter got a Pontiac Sunfire from them and 2 months later it breaks down and they found a crack in the motor....they weren't going to switch out the car or let her out of the agreement...then they gave her 1 choice a 03 Honda Element 2 months after she got it the AC went out...3 months after that the converter went out $1700...6 months in and we had to replace the starter and now the wires have to be replaced...called and spoke to Robert and let him know that the car was broke down 5 hours away he said ' to get the car back to them and they " will see" what they can do, but that is what happens when you buy a used car'....DO NOT BUY FROM THIS PLACE YOU WILL REGRET IT...I'm calling the Better Business Bureau and contacting a lawyer....Lemon Law has to apply. read more

My truck that I purchased through Third Coast Auto was damaged in a storm. I filed a claim immediately with my insurance company and Third Coast Auto came and "picked up the truck for repairs" this was put in writing several times " We have picked up the automobile for repairs" Third coast then took the truck to an " unknown location" of to be repaired. They stated that I was also late on my payment. I tried to make my payment and get the truck back and take it to a body shop of my choice and Third Coast refused stating that they were holding the truck and that their body shop would do the repairs even if I paid the payment they wouldn't bring the truck back because it was not fit to drive. Basically they took my right to choose what service company I was going to use to get the truck repaired and stated that since I was late on the payment they had the right to do that. To this day I don't have a writ to repossess order I only have them stating that they picked up the truck for repairs at the body shop they chose read more

****Rude*** Unhelpful***unprofessional**** My paper plates expired on 8/22. Called this morning at 9:20 am to see if plates were available. NO ONE seemed to know anything, the car was bought 3 months ago. After FINALLY reaching someone, I was told they would email me paper plates till the permanent ones were ready. Since I could not drive with expired ones. I also mentioned I had appointments to get to and could not drive until I recieved the email. Its it now 2:32 PM and NO email. I have been calling to speak to Gustavo the owner, the receptionist are rude and VERY unprofessional. They answer the phone and transfer without using a proper greeting. Then when I call back to ask for someone else I am given at attitude, transfered to THREE different people. Each one transfer me to someone else. When I called back yet again, I am told to hold for 15 min. Then when I call back again, I only get a voicemail. Clearly, customer service training and experience is NOT something that Third Coast trains their employees on. I am still waiting for a call and for my plates. At this point I am calling the Texas Department of Motor Vehicle Division (TXDOT)and file a complainant on the dealership. I am now on my 18th call to dealership and have yet to speak with anyone. I cannot leave my house due to risking getting picked over and getting a citation. read more

Paid my bill today at this place and for some reason which I was not told my account was locked. It took awhile to open it up and after a phone call from the round rock dealer to the Lamar dealer I was able to make my payment. Needless to say 3 hours after my payment was made the Lo jack system was activated for non payment. I made my payment at 4:30 pm and the system was activated at 7:30 pm an hour and a half after closing. This will be the only vehicle I purchase from third coast auto.
