At no time did we feel overly pressured and felt empowered to make the right decision for our family and finances. We worked with Art who was incredibly friendly and made the process quite easy. I purchase a 2010 Chevrolet from Mac Haik's Hutto location about two weeks ago. Jose O' Campo was my sales person and he was very help full. The entire staff was great. The whole process took a little over an hour, from pulling in to the lot to pulling out in my new truck. Once I got it home I did one more once over and found that there was a small problem with the truck. I when back and talked to Daryll Rodriguez (who did an awesome job with the financing) and he gave me the number to a person at there G-Town location and said they would take care of it. Let me start by saying that everyone I talked to was friendly and eager to help. I test drove a vehicle then left to decide if I wanted to proceed with purchase. After an hour I called back and told them I wanted to do the deal. When I arrived over an hour and a half later the vehicle was out front with signage removed from windshield and parked in front of office. I noticed they didn't bother to clean the exterior even after I made a comment from original test drive, oh well I'll wash it myself I said to salesman. Now the slow, time consuming , no computer working paperwork's begins! I lost track of time and was ready to get out if this place. I have made numerous car purchases and this one seemed long compared to others. Finally ready to leave with my used, not so clean new purchase. As I'm driving away I noticed they didn't even bother to refuel the damn thing, nearest gas station here I come. Here I am a week later and vehicle is doing fine. I called today around 9:30 am to speak with Jose about a question pertaining to payoff of trade in, he'll check with main office and call me back I was told. At 4:00 pm I called back because he is obviously not going to return my call. My question was eventually answered by someone else that works there. If you want a used car from Mac Haik go to the main dealership, it appears the satellite location in Hutto is a forgotten place in terms of a true car buying experience. read more

All the sleaze that you'd expect from a car dealership. I get something in the mail that says I've won a prize: $25k, an $800 ipad, a $500 or $250. Not only does it say that, but there's a small digital box attached to the flyer that shows I have a winning number! I call them up and explain i have a disability and it is a hardship for me to come down. Chris, the person I spoke with won't tell me if I've won. He won't tell me anything except that everyone wins something. I figured it was a con. I go down because there's $25k on the line. Even for the $250 it was worth it because the lady I called on the phone at their 800 number said I was "guaranteed" to win one of THOSE prizes. The person who greets me does a song and dance and starts to fill out a registration form. "Excuse me, but what is there to register for? What's this about?" "I don't know. It goes to the managers, maybe for data purposes." Blah, blah, BS. On hearing my irritation, she asks if there's a problem. I said, "I called this morning and told Chris that I have a disability and it's a hardship for me to come down. He wouldn't tell me anything except that everyone wins something." Chris, btw, told me that this was an insured prize offering and that everyone wins something. I was pissed off. The person I was with said, "I don't have to listen to this," and walked away allowing her boss to speak with me. She didn't care why I was angry. I tried to tell him why I was angry, but he didn't give a damn either. Oh, maybe they've had other people who they tried to scam get angry, too, and that's their response. He told me I won a $5 gift card. I told him that they need it more than me, that they just validated everything about car dealers being sleazy, and that I will never walk onto one of the Mac Haik dealership lots ever again, and left. That goes for my family, too. This was completely inconsiderate and uncompassionate of them. Car dealers still need to learn that people should be treated with respect. My bad for going. I hope they enjoy having this on Yelp. Followup: the next morning, I get a call from someone there who sounded as if she had no idea what she was doing. "Hello?" "Hi...pause..." "Yes?" "I'm aaa calling about the Mac Haik flyer you received in the mail. Would you like to come down to see what you won?" "Is this a joke?" Are you kidding me? This is what you do to someone who you walked away from in your store and because you ignored me everyone in the store heard me finish what you didn't want to hear? Wow. They had fast talking salesman who was from out of town to help them move cars off their lot. This guy made false statements that I did not catch until later. The accounting guy in fact concurred with these lies so it wasn't until my insurance broker looked at my contract that I saw the problems. A month later and the accounting guy is still dragging his feet. Don't deal with these people. They make even the term 'used car salesman' put to shame. read more

I would have put ZERO but there is no option for that. I have had nothing but trouble with these people from the beginning. I bought a car from them a few days ago not even 12 hours after im stuck on 35 in 5th gear. They tow it to Mac Haik in Georgetown to repair it. i tell them it may be the transmission but they insisted it was the fuel pump and "fixed" it. the day after i get my car back, It breaks down on 79 during rush hour with my two small children in the vehicle. I finally make it to Mac Haik in Hutto they inform me that indeed it is the transmission that is the problem. After being put in a different vehicle for days and them trying to convince me to buy the other car for more which also has a hole in the muffler. They inform me that not only can i not get my money back for the first "LEMON" they sold me but they wont fix the transmission for me and i have to pay for it myself. I have been informed that they are going to whole sale it out. so they are making the money they made off of me and they will also be making money from selling it to someone else while it is still mine. It is my car but it isnt. They are trying to claim they are helping me but they are trying to sell me a different car for 12,000 that is priced online for 10,000 and call the ad online a typo (fyi this is the car i am currently driving) WORST car buying experience ever. I will never reccomend anyone else to this place. P.S. If you do decide to purchase a vehicle from these people make sure someone is with you who knows a lot about cars because they will try to get one over on you for sure. If you point out a problem they will assure you its 110% O.K. and "fix" it for you and send you on your way. Please beware of their terrible customer service and their P.O.S cars. I wish I could give this place negative stars! Went here interested in a used suv. It was out of our way but we liked the vehicle so much we decided to take the 45min drive. The salesman there were just sitting on the couch and watching Tv. No one offered us water or anything. Once we were attended we filled out all the necessary paperwork but left disappointing because of the bad loan offer. They called us back the next day and said we were approved for a great deal. Unfortunately we couldn't go right then to get the vehicle but we agreed to be there the next day. Just an hour before we were supposed to be there I get a call that the vehicle is SOLD. This dealership was awful I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. My husband had a specific way to prove his income and they said that was fine. They let us drive off the lot after taking our money (which was a significant down payment) and come to find out two days later the proof of income we have won't work so they tell us that we have to bring the vehicle back but they won't be able to give us our money back right away because it was already sent to the bank. We called BS on that and told them if we didn't get our money back that they weren't getting the car back we signed a contract. After a week of this crap we finally got our money back and they pretty much acted as if there was never any problems from the start. So unless you want to get screwed over and have awful service I wouldn't recommend this company for anyone. read more

I received a mailer recently where you have to peel back several places to reveal a code, and if you have matching codes on the left and right then you've won "something." Lined up beside each possible code is a certain amount of money. My 'winning" code was 777 and lined up beside the 777 was the amount of $1,000. Of course, there was some very fine print but I don't own a magnifying glass so I decided to investigate in person. My very personable saleswoman took me through a survey of my "car-buying needs," which I expected, and then took me over to a cardboard stand to show me that, based on the "winning number" printed on the mailer, I had won a $2 bill, which she gave me. I pointed out on the mailer where each code was lined up beside a certain amount of money, and she pointed out the very fine print, which she admitted she couldn't read because it was so tiny. So, I've just saved you a drive. If they won't tell you how much you've won over the phone, then I'd skip this if I were you. You're welcome! read more

Illegal bait and switch. I took my 18 year old son to this dealer in hopes of obtaining a vehicle for him to use to get to and from work. The first time that we visited a few months ago, my son did not meet the income requirements to qualify for financing, even though they claim to guarantee financing. I felt that the attitude from the sales team was a little bit cold and unfriendly, but just dismissed it since it was close to closing time. Today I decided to give them a call, since my son's hours had increased, and he had saved more for his down payment amount. I inquired about the possibility of getting a vehicle for under $5000, and was told that they had several. The sales person, Sattea, seemed most excited about a '98 Honda Accord, that had just arrived from a trade-in. He said the vehicle was to be sold for between $2500.00 and 2999.00, and proceeded to send me a text message with attached photos of the car. I told him I was definitely interested and would be by as soon as my son got off of work. When we arrived that evening, my son walked in ahead of me and told another salesman that he was there to see the 98 Accord that was $2500, and that salesman said the car was $5000, I walked in and several salesman seemed concerned as to what vehicle we were talking about. So I explained that I had called in a talked to someone on the phone about the vehicle. Sattea greeted us and said that the vehicle had been taken to the service center for inspection while he was away earlier, but that he would go get it, in the mean time, he wanted my son to fill out financial information. As we filled out information, we noticed that he never went to get the car, but was instead helping another couple had had come in after we did. He walked in and out of his office several times leaving us waiting for almost an hour with no explanation. On one trip into his office, I again asked the price for the Honda and he said $2500 but he was hoping to be able to get him into something nicer, and quickly left again. He finally came in and said that because my son is so young he would need a co signer or a large down payment. I told him either would work IF WE COULD LOOK AT A CAR and THEN make a decision, and with the low price of the Honda, we may just buy it outright. He said he understood and we be back soon. After another 15 minutes, I went back out to the main waiting area only to see that the other couple had been test driving and looking at several vehicles with Sattea. I asked a different salesperson to assist me since Sattea too was busy, and he informed me that they were trying to find a vehicle that matched our financing options. Now at no point has anyone asked us how much we planned to put toward the down payment, or what we were looking to spend, so they seemed to be making a lot of assumptions. I asked the new salesman where the Honda was, and he said it was in Georgetown and needed to be checked before being sold. After only a few minutes the new salesman brought us into his office and said that they only had two vehicles that would work. He then told me what each vehicle would require for a down payment, and a monthly payment. When I asked him the actual price of the vehicles he said he DID NOT KNOW. REALLY?? I was passed being shocked at the treatment I was getting so far, so at this point I was just fed up. He told me he would have to ask his manager what the price was and would be right back. He came back with figures of around $7000 and 6000 respectively. I asked what day the Honda would be back so that we could test drive it, he then informs me that the Honda is not for sale. This is the same guy who said it was being inspected to ensure is was ready to be sold. He said it was never for sale and that is was a "Wholesale" car so I did not want it anyway. At that point I was done, I thanked him and left. As far as I know, it is illegal for a car dealer to quote a price for a specific vehicle, then either raise the price of the vehicle, or discriminate against a particular customer from buying it. read more
