One Star - If I Could Give Zero, I would!…read more I told Jarrett EXACTLY what was wrong with my car and gave him the codes straight from AutoZone. He insisted on charging me $75 to "diagnose" it himself, only come back with the same information I had already told him. Total waste of money. Then he claimed two parts needed replacing - one of which had already been replaced recently. He brushed it off as "defective" and said he'd change it out so the check engine light would turn off. It didn't. Not even close. Next, he said I needed yet another part that I'd have to hunt down myself at a junkyard or eBay. When I asked him - the mechanic - to get the part, he reluctantly agreed, as if doing his actual job was a burden. I told him I would pick up my car at noon on Saturday. Instead, he shut the shop down early because "business was slow," even though their posted hours are 9-4. Then he told me to come on Sunday. On Sunday, he wouldn't even bother showing up and told me to just send him money through Cash App and take my car. Funny how that option magically wasn't available the day before. Days passed. No update. I contacted him - he fed me some story about waiting on a call from "the Ford guy." More days passed. I called again. The call disconnected right when I said who I was. He never responded to my follow-up message. Completely ghosted. So here I am: check engine light still on, problem still unresolved, and $250 gone for absolutely nothing. Great job, Jarrett. I'll never see you again - and that's a promise. And for anyone reading: take a hard look at the "five-star reviews." A bunch are from first-time reviewers and/or people who only had easy jobs done - like replacing headlights. Nothing major. Save your car, your wallet, and your sanity. Go somewhere else.

I hate this so much that I've bought my last two cars from Carvana simply because I wouldn't have to speak to anyone. I find the stereotypical car-buying experience (new and, especially, used) to be unnecessarily stressful and taxing. Today, this has changed. When I found a slightly better deal locally than I did on Carvana, I took the plunge. From the beginning, Angela was super helpful and responsive. She didn't insist on talking on the phone and was happy to text details, which is infinitely more manageable during the workweek. When it came time to make the trek to Austin e Autos, Angela let me know that she would be off that day and handed off the deal to Isaac. Isaac is the best. Isaac put us through the paces of letting us test drive, then talking numbers. At no point did the numbers they advertised ever change. I came in with pre-approval through USAA, and they did not push me toward in-house financing. This has never happened to me before. They usually push that really hard. Once the numbers were agreed upon, we were handed over to Stephanie for the paper signing. This was equally painless, and there was no push to buy extended warranties, wheel insurance, GAP, etc, etc, etc. The numbers we discussed with Isaac were the exact numbers we signed off on with Stephanie. Incredibly painless, transparent, and honest process. My wife loves her car, and I am very impressed by the buying experience. If you're in the market for a used EV, look here first. All the stars. Thank you, Isaac, Angela, and Stephanie!

The major car dealerships will not take the chance of doing dishonest business but apparently the independent dealerships do not hold themselves to the same standards. Warning - Lemons Sold Here!…read more This is a repost. Somehow my post was taken down. This is what happend to me at this dealer. I purchased a car from this dealership for my son, who was heading off to college. The Cars4uTX sticker is still on the back of what is now a broken car. At the time, it seemed like a great deal--low mileage (61,000), no accidents, everything looked clean. But after just 6,000 easy highway miles, the transmission completely failed. In my opinion, the chances that the dealer didn't know the car was on the verge of a major failure are XZERO. Just Google "Nissan transmission problems" or ask any AI platform for an overview. AI Summary on Nissan CVT Transmission: Nissan's CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) has a well-documented history of issues: premature failure, overheating, whining or shuddering noises, and more. These problems often result in delayed acceleration, power loss, or total failure--sometimes even leading to accidents. Selling the car as-is is an option, but I'd be lucky to get a few thousand dollars for it. Fixing it and then selling it is another possibility--but honestly, unlike a dealer like Cars4UTX, I'd feel guilty passing a car with known transmission issues on to another person or family just looking for reliable transportation. All I can say is this: buyer beware with this dealership. Ask every question. Do your research. Don't expect the dealer to be upfront--they just want to move inventory. This has been a very expensive lesson for us. There are plenty of other dealerships out there. Choose wisely.

WARNING Lemons Sold Here, Undisclosed Safety and Emissions…read moreDefects, Dealer Misconduct, Emissions Tampering, Contract Pressure, & No Accountability We were referred to Cars 4 UTX/Alex & Sons for cheap used cars, but warned "be careful--they sell lemons." Our 2014 Mazda CX-5 seemed fine on the outside but hid serious issues. Dealer's own shop "passed" it for emissions, but an independent inspection found an illegal O2 sensor spacer (emissions tampering) and nearly $7,000 in needed repairs. Contracts were only in English--my girlfriend (limited English, first-time buyer) was pressured to sign alone. She put $2,000 down, and is now stuck paying $430/month for 5 years ($26,000 total) for a car that is not legal to drive. Dealer refused to provide inspection or repair records, removed the car from their website after our complaints, and never addressed any issues. We filed a DMV complaint; the dealer got to see/respond to everything, offered a vague "unwind" (buyback) but never put anything in writing. Once faced with real repair costs, he stopped communicating and tried to go through the lienholder instead. Bottom line: This place has a pattern of selling unsafe, misrepresented cars, ghosting buyers, and using procedural games to avoid responsibility. Documentation available to any agency or buyer. ADDITIONAL UPDATE: Title: Emissions Tampering, Odometer Issues, and Deceptive Inspections - Avoid Alex & Sons Affordable Review: Alex & Sons Affordable Auto Sales performed the emissions inspection for a used car we purchased from a dealer on the same lot. After purchase, we discovered a 12-mile odometer gap between their emissions test and the sale, raising serious suspicion of odometer manipulation and OBD2 resets. An independent shop found an illegal O2 sensor spacer (emissions tampering), multiple pre-existing safety and emissions defects, and over $7,000 in immediate repairs--none of which were disclosed by Alex & Sons. The follow-up emissions test failed within two weeks, proving the car should never have passed their inspection or been sold as roadworthy. Their inspection allowed a dangerous, tampered vehicle to be sold to a first-time, limited-English buyer who was pressured to sign contracts alone and with no advocate. Alex & Sons has not addressed these failures or provided documentation when requested. Other buyers report similar patterns: failed inspections, odometer gaps, review removal, and major financial harm. Avoid this shop at all costs and insist on a true independent inspection before buying from any dealer that uses their services. Documentation available to regulators on request.

I found the car online and had to drive from Galveston to Hutto to go get it. John held the car for me for 2-3 days until I could get out there; even though, he had other offers on it. When we got there, he handed me the keys, and allowed us to test drive the car by ourselves, trusting us to come back. Neither him, nor his friend and co-worker, Mike, bothered us while we were looking at the car, checking for damage, making sure all the buttons, lights, etc. worked; and that the car was in good condition. They were actually helpful and answered all of our questions with no pressure. They were no hassle, straight-up, and to the point. Not to mention, they gave us a great deal on the price!!! They made the car buying process quick and painless, in fact, it was a very pleasant experience. He even offered to take care of us, if any issues happened after we purchased the car. Additionally, they recommended a cute cafe for us to eat at afterwards, which was delicious and another pleasant experience. Needless to say, it was well worth the long drive to Hutto, and we will definitely be purchasing our next car from them. It is rare to find genuine, honest, good people like John and Mike. Thank you for making our car buying experience as painless and pleasant as possible! We greatly appreciate it and wish there were more people like you!

I called and left a message Monday morning and received a call back from the owner, John Phillips. I pass by his lot every day coming and going and noticed that he always seemed to have lots of nice looking stock on hand. I was in the market for a late model Infiniti and noticed that he had several on hand. When John called me back, I delivered my typical "This ain't my first rodeo speech," so as to let him know that I was not going to be a push over. John was very humble and friendly, it was immediately apparent to me that working with him was going to be fun and easy. After speaking on the phone a few times, curiosity finally got the better of me and I stopped by after work. John is a man's man who loves to talk about fishing and his kids, and we got along famously. He presented me with several options, and earned my trust by revealing several aspects of the deal that are normally kept from customers. It was an educational experience, even for someone like me whose bought several cars and has friends who have their dealers license. The car had some minor imperfections, but John made some calls and got me taken care of. As it turns out, this is not his first rodeo either and he is incredibly well connected, and apparently incredibly influential with his business contacts as he was able to get me some nice freebies and discounts. Having purchased 10 cars since moving to Austin, most of them at Austin Infiniti, I had a good basis for comparison for rating a car buying experience. John and Texas Auto Ranch are far and away the best I've ever encountered, and because of integrity, his personality, and his willingness to go above and beyond, he's earned a customer for life. Here are some pointers: 1. Call him first to find out if he has what you want, or visit his website. 2. He may be able to find what you want if he doesn't already have it. 3. Be nice and you'll be amazed at the level of service you receive. 4. Give John a shot at your financing even if you already have your own lined up. He could have saved me some money, as it turns out. 5. Compare his prices to anyone in town; you'll be amazed. 6. Tell him that you contacted him because of his YELP page, so he'll believe me when I tell him it will actually increase his sales.

Josh was patient, responsive, and incredibly easy to work with throughout the entire process. He kept me informed as the vehicle moved from allocation to transit to arrival and was always willing to answer questions along the way. What I appreciated most was that Josh never pressured me. He focused on helping me get the right vehicle rather than simply making a sale. The pricing remained consistent, communication was excellent, and I always felt like he was advocating for me rather than selling to me. When delivery day arrived, Juan Leon took over and made the final steps of the process smooth and straightforward. He was professional, friendly, and made sure everything was taken care of before I drove away. After talking with several dealerships during my search, Cedar Park Toyota stood out because of the professionalism, transparency, and customer service provided by Josh and Juan. The dealership honored the agreed pricing, there were no surprises, and I left with exactly the vehicle I wanted. One thing worth mentioning is that Toyota of Round Rock is much closer to my home. It would certainly be the more convenient choice. Yet for my last two Toyota purchases, Cedar Park Toyota has earned my loyalty. The experience, communication, and trust I have built with their team made the extra drive an easy decision. I would absolutely recommend Cedar Park Toyota and would gladly work with Josh Roberts and Juan Leon again in the future.
