It is filled with good light, good music, & good smells. Yes, of course, it is a store. They have meticulously curated their collection of stones & crystals, jewelry, bulk herbs & homemade incense, books, pendulums, candles, & more. However - what makes The Veiled Crow stand out (& why I am confident in saying that it's one of my favorite places in Rhode Island) is that it's an EXPERIENCE. Both Loren & Tracey are masters of their craft & are so willing to share their precious knowledge with anyone who asks. That's the key, though. You have to ask. "What herb should I make tea with if I want vivid dreams?" "What incense should I burn if I am grieving?" "Which stone should I keep in my pocket if I am anxious?" or even just "Where do I begin?" Both Loren & Tracey are profound, intuitive, & engaging. Don't be intimidated; there's no prerequisite for being there & they don't judge. They listen, they ask questions, & they explain everything in layman's terms. They help you to find what exactly it is that you're looking for - even if that's just an open heart to talk to. I have no doubt that they are doing exactly what they are meant to be doing with The Veiled Crow. Just a bit more about the physical space: In the back of their new space is a gorgeous gallery room in which they display local art & hold their workshops. They display new art each month! There is also a smaller room in which private readings take place. It looks cozy & inviting. The bookshelf is an organized collection of essentials, novelties, & this & that. Donna rescheduled my appointment 3 hours before I was supposed to come in, and then no-showed for when we rescheduled. I drove 25 minutes, sat in the waiting room, texted, emailed, and called. No response. The worst part is, I STILL haven't heard from her and she decided to keep my $50 deposit. Not cool. Keep your money and don't waste your time.
