She takes vendors money, sells their things, and doesn't pay them what they are owed. She removes comments from social media that don't make her look like a good person. She currently owes thousands of dollars to hundreds of people. She laid off staff with a text. She refuses to let vendors retrieve product and constantly makes excuses as to why they cannot come get their items. She back talks people in emails and expects no one to react. She constantly lies to people and plays the run around game. Her events are hogwash and there is never any clear direction. She cancels events and doesn't refund people their money. She has claimed she is filling for bankruptcy not once but twice now. Encourages people to fill out payout forms so that when she does file for bankruptcy they cannot get their money until the settlement is done. Her name is Mary Plummer. Do not support any of her business' because she has multiple .... She changes the names of groups and stores when things go south and reopens soon after 'closing'. She makes all of this public on her Facebook unless you leave a comment that isn't in her best interest to have every one see and then she blocks you.

Well, stop I did, to see if they had a gift for a friend's birthday. First, I love any store that smells like balsam as you walk through the door. The scent makes me feel like a kid again. I'm not from Maine (have been here long enough to feel at home), but as a kid we used to drive here from Ohio and spend a few weeks going up and down the coast. The smell of balsam reminds me of these trips. Second, I was shocked by the variety they had. Maple syrup, Maine souvenirs, crafting supplies, wooden figurines, and antiques. The have a sign stating that they "glue chairs". I didn't know that was a thing, but apparently, it is... They also sell wreaths and Christmas trees during the appropriate season. And finally, the owners were as nice as could be. They had out hot chocolate for the kids, and they wrapped my little gift up neatly. The Blue Lobster has mugs, hats, magnets, merch and much more! I almost spent my entire check in there! Their store is spacious too so it's quite easy to move around and shop freely. There are silk flowers and gifts and bobbles galore from tacky to elegant. It is a bit claustrophobic but it's set up so you go in one way and out the other. My friend and I just took our time and tried to take it all in, impossible . Ohh yes there is also penny candy and fudge ,though I only gave that a glance, honest. We didn't even get to the antique barn next door which was a shame because it looked really interesting also. As for the customer service, the woman that was there with us was lovely. They had an amazing variety of gifts from Maine/Portland, and everything was fairly priced. I ended up buying 11 postcards for just $10.50 -- a steal compared to what I've seen at other gift shops when traveling around. The postcards were also beautiful and very high quality. We all ended up picking out a few things and some fun items/ art to take back home. The staff was super nice and made small talk and were very accommodating. They took extra care & packed up our items for traveling back home. We would recommend and definitely come back again on our next trip.
