I ordered the Leading Lady salad without cheese, and my friend ordered the Mac and Cheese. About 20-30 minutes after we placed the order, our waiter informed us that they were out of the Mac and Cheese. It's fine if you're out of a menu item, but letting us know after we had already been waiting for that long seemed inappropriate. Eventually, my salad came out covered with cheese, even though I asked for no cheese. The chicken that came with it was also very dry. My friend opted for the BBQ brisket sliders in lieu of the Mac and Cheese, and he noted that the meat was dry and that there wasn't enough BBQ sauce. The fries were decent, though. Overall, not worth the visit, unfortunately.

We were a party of four and wanted to get a drink while waiting for a dinner table. First thing he said to us was "I am not serving food", I thought that's odd no hellos or welcoming remarks. One of us said we just a want a drink. He continued conversing with an old couple and then they left. The bartender then started cleaning or "something" with his back towards us, so we waited patiently for him to address us. He finally turned around and one of us asked him if someone was sitting at the bar where it looked like the customer was finished, the bartender said yeah there's somebody there. We prob waited another few minutes standing in front of the bar and the bartender never said "hello what can I offer you to drink" or anything to the effect of being welcoming to the bar. When we finally sat down he kept tending to "things" behind the bar before he even addressed us with a dismissive attitude while asking us "what do you want?" I finally asked if he's ok? He stated "yeah I'm ok" and then got defensive and replied with the same annoyed attitude he had while we were walking up to the bar. He replied with a sense of arrogance "are you ok?" His arrogant delivery was very crass and I asked why he was having an attitude with our party. And he just laughed under his breath. We rode motorcycles for over 4 days and we just wanted a beer in a nice atmosphere but did not receive any of the basic customer service from this place. I do not recommend this place unless you just want to be annoyed with bad customer service with a sense of arrogance from a bartender who should be more welcoming especially in a customer service venue. To the bartender: if you lack sensitivity and customer oriented dialog you probably should stop working in the hospitality industry. You are not good for your company image. At any rate terrible customer service, felt like the bartender was only worried about receiving a tip basing his judgements on customers appearance.

I figured if they're happy back there then I shouldn't worry about what comes out. I wasn't greeted with chips and salsa which was a surprise, seeing how it's a staple at every Mexican restaurant I've ever been to. So that was a bummer. You would think that nice salty chips and spicy salsa would pair well with a cold beer. It would make you thirsty for another thus adding to their bottom line. It's probably for the best after that salty mess last night at the Garage restaurant in Oklahoma. I still feel like Lot's wife after she looked back at Sodom and Gomorrah. My bubbly server took my order of a beer and a Mexicali hamburger steak (closest thing to meatloaf that I could get). It came to my table piping hot. My steak was covered in chopped green chilis, and was extremely delicious. The beans and rice were standard, so no woop there. Panz Alegra was pretty busy on this Saturday night. You can sit in the bar area, or the regular restaurant. The bar was a hoppin', while where I was seated was pretty tame. Unless you consider the exuberant busboy dancing his way to tables entertaining. He made me a bit nervous. The guy was one misstep away from adding more dishes to my table than I was comfortable with. Ricky Martin he was not. You can't go wrong with Panz. You can get better, but who wants to drive all the way to Las Cruces. Quick Tip: This place boasts American-Mexican-Italian food on its menu. Interesting. I never would have thought that American food would find its way on the menu. Oh, from the outside, the restaurant looks abandoned. One of many relics you can find along Route 66. But don't be deterred. There's people inside, dancing and otherwise.

The service was ok, good in terms of attentiveness, they were swamped and there was a wait to get in anways. Food came out pretty slow but then I am not sure if they are usually completely full. The Chile Releno was reallly good and had a lot of flavor to it. The tacos were pretty basic and the rice was good. My meal came with a large folded flour tortilla with a butter pad that confused me. The menu was expansive and some of the burgers that passed by me looked really good. They touted a sign that said an best authentic mexican food award, but really its tex-mex. Ill go again for sure try more and update.

A few of the places recommended to us had already closed, but I had read that Junkyard had an amazing pulled pork BBQ sandwich. Since we definitely weren't dressed for anything fancy, I told my fiancé that a brewery sounded perfect. When we pulled up and saw that the place was veteran-owned, it immediately felt meant to be. My fiancé is a veteran as well, so that made it even more special. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted warmly by the staff and told to sit wherever we liked. We looked around for a bit but eventually settled at the bar -- and I'm so glad we did. While we were there, we ended up chatting with the bartenders and other patrons, and everyone made us feel genuinely welcome. After such a long day on the road, it felt less like stopping at a brewery and more like walking into a place full of friends. Great food, great atmosphere, and even better people. We'll absolutely be back!
