The staff were getting busy when we arrived after a show at the citadel but they were quick and made sure to still check on us frequently. Waters were never empty and our food came out promptly after we ordered. I was immediately drawn to the fermented purple corn drink (Ponche De Chicha) which was so delightful! Fruity but not over powering. A nice amount of ice and an interesting pineapple garnish to go with an interesting drink. We were also very eager to try the brussel sprouts, which were absolutely amazing! Brussels Sprouts Elote: honey glazed Brussels sprouts and drizzled with that chipotle lime aioli, and so much feta cheese. Plus I believe a portion of sales of this dish goes to the food bank. Always love supporting a good cause while enjoying good food. To finish it off we had to dip into the dessert menu and get the Sticky pudding. The sauce divine and I wished for a smidge more. A touch over salted but still delightful. I still stand by my review 7 years ago this place gets the full 5 stars!

Our server was friendly and fun. And she totally matched the atmosphere. Food menu is limited. I would like to see a few more selections particulary since they get their meat from Smoke next door. I went with the Zombie which was a flippin 4 oz. It was delicious. And well worth the price. To eat we tried the burnt ends, the fries, and the mac and cheese. Food came out slower than typical but it was a good use of our time to enjoy the space and our drinks. Food was good. For sure the burnt ends were the star of the show. But the mac and cheese was good and creamy and the fries were well flavoured and plentiful. Sliders were well constructed. come here for amazing drinks and snacks! And the food is an added bonus.

Compared to the melting pot I would say the quality is about the same but I do prefer the melting pot dippings for the dessert (pound cake ). I don't remember the portion size of the melting pot so if you do remember you can just compare with the photos as that is the course meal for two. With the attached photos that is the 4-course meal for two which comes out to about $170 after tip and one drink (missing a soup that I chose). The main course portion gives you six pieces of each meat (coast to coast option) and there were 4 different types of meat and the scallops on that option were sliced into 6 pieces so you essentially only get like 2 scallops. For the cheese portion they said they could bring more bread if needed and for the chocolate they did not say anything so I am not sure if you can get more or not for the chocolate portion. Their four dipping sauces were pretty good though. They had a garlic dip, a sweet teriyaki, a butter chicken and a tar tar sauce. That being said you are essentially paying for the service and experience. It started out pretty decently and everything came out after we were done with the previous course. However, after the main course for some reason our server never showed up again. We waited 50 minutes before we were able to flag another server from another table down to get our last course. They explained everyone was training that day so it might be slow but I don't see how training is required to check up on your table a few times within a 50 minute period. We were sitting for a total of 3 hours by the time we got our chocolate. Currently, I think the melting pot and this place are the only fondue places so there are not many options if you want a full course fondue. I would not recommend it if they have not fixed their staff issue but if they have it would be comparable to the melting pot.

I liked it, It made it more intimanite. Menu varies depending on the season. But I am sure that everyone will find something they would like. We chose a few things raw elk with fried capers, shallots & blueberries, the seared scallops with celeriac puree, capers, garlic and butter, saskatoon berry brisket with beef and carmelized onion on bannock, and the pappardelle rabbit ragu with parmigian reggiano . We also took two cockails which was delicous. Service was prompt and friendly. Food was delicious. The stand out was the raw elk. Delicous combination of thing that do a party in you mouth. I would go back just for that . The only thing that I didn't enjoy was the brisket. Way too sweet for me. Be warned it is pricey. Expect to empty your pocket book.

A mix of hipster cool and classic. I also love a restaurant that does a good Christmas tree. It made it feel festive and cozy. Our server was bubbly and kind. Really enjoyed her service. She was helpful in picking out things for us to try. The menu is diverse, and pretty much has something for everyone. And we happened to score on Happy Hour which was some good eats for an affordable price. What we chose from the Happy Hour Menu Korean Fried Chicken Brusell Sprouts Sparrow Tots Arancini All these were 9 dollars. We also chose two happy hour drink specials for 9 bucks Spicy Sparrow and the Old Fashion We also had the Beef Short Ribs with gnocci and the date pudding. Food was really delicious. I liked everything. The beef short ribs with gnocci were probably our favourite but not a deal. All the happy hour things were tasty. The big surprise was the Korean Fried Chicken which had a great mix of sweet and spicy. The Sparrow tots were great too. The only thing I would not reorder is the date pudding. This was a dime a dozen. Nothing standoutish and could get a great bread pudding at many pubs for cheaper. Try this place. Especially at their Golden Hour.
