Went last night first time there the food and service was exceptional I would recommend this place.

A bit too expensive for what you get. The steaks are ok but not exceptional. There were some very expensive steak on the menu but we did not order those. The bbq vegs and spuds were tasty. It was not that busy but our waitress forgot a couple items we ordered. (wine , coffee) Overall the place is nice and cozy though a bit brighter lighting would be nice to read the menu. read more

What a fabulous place, from the staff, the ambiance to the food everything was fabulous. Baked fresh in house bread, burger buns, and open flame grilling what more could you ask for. We stopped by our first time for a quick lunch and wow wow wow was it good. We both had the Barbacoa burger and fries. We will definitely be back. I'm very disappointed in our experience here. We had a 5:00 PM reservation but weren't seated right away due to a lineup, even though it was opening time. More importantly, my guest has severe food allergies and provided the server with a detailed "yes/no" allergy card for the kitchen. We were reassured her meal (a simple tenderloin and vegetables) would be prepared safely -- but it wasn't. She became very sick in the days after our visit due to an ingredient she should not have been given. For the price -- nearly double what we would pay elsewhere -- the lack of care and safety was unacceptable. We were also asked to pay our bill around 6:30 PM because they had another reservation for our table, even though we had only received our meals about 30 minutes earlier. I cannot recommend this restaurant for anyone with allergies or for guests who want to enjoy a relaxed dining experience. The customer service and attention to safety fell far below expectations. read more

The restaurant was booked as a venue for a large group of 30+. The menu and drinks were set. The staff were great. Our server definitely had us, along with the bar tender. The food was delicious. I am not personally a desert person, so not my favorite. However, the pretzel app and steak meal were incredible. I loved the bed of mashed potatoes and cooked carrots. read more

What a ****** hidden gem! Literally! People would never find it or know it is here. Tucked away in an industrial area is this sweet little spot. Great food, great cocktails equal awesome for me. The apps here were excellent. I think we had the beef carpaccio and Brussels sprouts. Both were really good. Steak entree was good and friends had the short rib. They loved it. And did I mention the cocktails lol Also, I left my car a couple of days because when you live downtown, I could not rush to Spruce Grove. Found this on a fluke driving back to Edmonton from out of town. It is in an odd area and for sure i wouldn't have found it if I wasn't lokking for it. Really nice inside. Open air concept. Beautiful dark wood with blue and silver accents. A great place with atmosphere to relax. Our server was prompt, and friendly and very knowledgable with the menu. It is classy without being pompus. Love the menu. You can tell that the owners picked it with care. It was hard to decide on what to order. We decided to order the Steak Tartar to start. The steak tartare contained whole grain mustard aioli, crispy capers, pickled shimeji mushrooms, cured egg yolk, grilled benny's crostini, and parmigiano-reggiano. I went with the Pappardelle -fresh handmade pasta, ragu of beef short rib & grilled vegetables, roasted tomato sauce, parmigiano-reggiano, grilled focaccia my hubby went with the wild boar burger. The steak tartar was amazing. I love trying everyone's steak tartar and this one was unusual with the crispy capers and the pickled shimeji mushrooms. I love the combination of rich from the beef and the egg yolk, the salty from the capers, and the tartness of the mushrooms. My pappardelle was tasty. The pasta was perfect. You could tell it was home cooked and the mixture of short ribs and vegatables made a very balanced dish. And really filling. My husband liked his wild boar burger. Ot was a good portion with tasty flavours. If I was in the area again this would definately go back read more

If I could rate our visit 4.5 stars that would be perfect! 5 stars for service from Colin and 4 stars for the food as we found our steak and the accompanying potatoes overly salted. However the ribeye was cooked well and the smokiness was great. The broccolini was a touch undercooked for my liking at least. We also ordered to share the "bacon & eggs" which my husband couldn't stop raving about the special sauce it comes with (even mopping up the extra sauce with our son's fries lol) and the grilled Caesar salad was also loved by my husband whom usually isn't a lover of any salad. I enjoyed the salad but the croutons were super hard as was the bacon topping the "bacon and eggs" dish. For drinks I ordered the tequila based cocktail "let's get fizzical" and it was delicious! Hubs had a couple of glasses of Malbec. Our son had apple juice which was actually served in a fancy copper Moscow mule-type mug - he thought that was cool. Speaking of my son, they have a kids menu located in the back of the drinks menu, so my son enjoyed his cheese burger and was too full to even have his fries. Space is warm and inviting inside with an open kitchen. Washrooms clean and tidy. They don't have high chairs available but offered a booster seat that had security straps. Not ideal as I had to keep my arm on the back of the booster seat for the duration of dinner to prevent our baby leaning too far forward and tipping it over but space is at a premium here so I understand a high chair would just be in the way. All in all a lovely experience though. Wonderful service and solid food options. Would recommend and would come back to try other items on the menu. read more

Decided to come try this place for lunch one day. Very charming place and was quite busy already when I came in at 11:30. Ordered the pulled pork sandwich. It was okay, nothing fabulous. The bun was very dry and the sauce just didn't agree with me. The side greens were great though. Pretty sad that the greens are the star here. May return to try something else. Don't know. Nothing but great things here! Our new favourite spot! They have awesome drinks, awesome service and awesome food! They have a wonderful list of cocktails. We had the Caesar's and smoked old fashioned. Highly recommend both. The smoke on the old fashion was top notch!! Started with the bruschetta. Highly recommend. I'll be dreaming of the bacon in this dish for a while (insert salivating emoji). For our mains we had the pulled pork w/parmesan fries, smoked pork ribs, smoked chicken and beet salad w/smoked chicken. Pulled pork & parmesan fries were very tasty. Smoked ribs were fantastic. The bark was so good and they had a lot of "fall of the bones" meat. Don't be afraid of the smoked egg; it was delish! The beet salad was pretty good however had too much arugula for my taste (which wasn't mentioned on the menu). Would be nice if they smoked the beets. I do recommend. The smoked chicken was ok but not stellar. We will definitely be back!! read more

Honestly I was a little sketched out when I followed GPS to what looked like an industrial park but as soon as I got inside I changed my mind. First the smell hits you, the smoking and it is awesome! Also there is just a laid back atmosphere. Very nice inside. The service was amazing our glasses were never empty and the waitress was warm and friendly. We all had burgers so I cant say I know a ton about the selection but what we had was great and massive portion for a burger. It isnt cheap, so bring your wallet but it is worth it!! read more

Definitely a hidden gem. I don't think I would have ever stumbled across this place in a million years. The restaurant is tucked away at the back of the building and basically invisible from the street. You'll swear that Google maps is lying to you when it tells you that you've arrived. However, once you do arrive you are in for a treat. This is no low-end industrial diner. This is as classy and as modern as any restaurant in the city. The impression is only amplified when you open the menu. I can't think of anywhere else in Spruce Grove with a menu this diverse. I was there at lunch and ordered the steak tartare and it was simply sublime. Not only was the steak prepared with excellence, but the garnishes were chosen with special care. I don't think I've ever had pickled shimeji mushrooms before, but they were an inspired choice by the chef. The service was also very pleasant. Our waitress was prompt, attentive, and had a good sense of humour. Overall, if you're looking for a next level dining experience in Spruce Grove I strongly recommend that you give Barbacoa a try. read more

The steak is great - no question! The restaurant is in the absolute boonies! Why would anyone dare put a restaurant in the middle of an industrial section of small town Alberta? But, they did - and they are obviously prospering. We couldn't find a small enough steak - not everyone wants to eat 12+ ounces of beef! If you're spending anywhere from $56 - $74 on your steak, it would be nice to have the bread and butter thrown in for free - even if it's homemade. And the "fire-roasted vegetables" that were to accompany the steak were sautéed garlic scapes - I'd call that a garnish, not a vegetable. In prime Alberta summertime, could you not throw in a few carrots or beans? So...great steak, great service, but chintzy with the bread and butter and no vegetables. And to spend over $200 on a dinner for two and be surrounded by guys in ball caps? I think we'll save our money for our next trip to Europe. read more

First of all, the ambiance here is lovely - very unexpected in this industrial area. However, it's super loud - my dad had a hard time following our conversation while it was so busy with patrons chatting. The let's get fizzical and whoa blackberry cocktails were very good. We started with the bacon bruschetta, the French onion soup, and the bread and butter. That bread is insanely good 10/10. The soup was ok but very salty. Look, I'm a salty gal, it's very rare that I say that - but this was salty AF. The bruschetta was yummy but not something I would want again. We ordered a wedge salad and a Mac and cheese for the table, the salad was beautiful but a tad overdressed. The blue cheese foam on it was way too much for me personally, I would skip it next time. I got the salmon, dining mates got a burger and steaks - which comes with roasted potatoes and veggies. My salmon was perfection - crispy skin, cooked just right. Delish. I would skip the crispy polenta but that's just my tastes. The salmon could have used a little acid to brighten it up as the sauce was a little rich - the herbs from the top of the salad did the trick nicely and would be an awesome addition to this dish. Steaks were cooked perfectly and tasted great. It's fairly expensive here in my opinion, especially considering how far we have to drive but I do appreciate the quality local ingredients and take that into consideration. My understanding is that the menu changes quite often, I'd go back again but I'm not jumping to go again right away. read more

Had the pleasure of a lunch out in this hidden gem (I'm not exaggerating, I thought my husband was making a trip to the safety store but the restaurant is actually tucked in at the back of the parking lot). The decor is modern and inviting. Service was ok, waitress had to check with the kitchen on a few things. They have a nice creative menu for drinks which I'll try if we head here for dinner. I ordered a delicious chef's cut steak which came with grilled root veggies. And my husband had a massive wedge salad that he actually could not finish. I'd like to eat here again. read more

After being voted #1 steak house earlier this year (I can't remember the source), I knew I had to bring my family. As a pescatarian myself, they don't have many options but I wanted them to enjoy the best steak in the city and surrounding area. So imagine our surprise when they had neither the Chef's Cut nor the Tenderloin. As a result, no one had steak. The food we did get was pretty good however the bacon burger was nothing special and the chickpea salad was super over dressed. This isn't a very good date night spot because we were warned about the noise level when we were seated. I will say the service was great but maybe give this place a call before you show up, if you're craving a steak. read more

Being as objective as possible, the quality of food was quite good, worth the hugely inflated price? I don't think so. The service itself was alright, however, I have never been to a restaurant before where they essentially tell you before you've even ordered that you need to eat quickly because they have other reservations after yours. This is an automatic fail in my eyes. Pair this with the fact that the waitress would not give us more than five minutes without her coming to "check on us " was extremely irritating. Continuous interruption of our conversation which was already very hard because of the ambiance which is probably the most terrible aspect of eating here. It is loud! So loud in fact that it is much more like being in a bar or small nightclub rather than a fine dining experience worthy of the prices on the menu. It is nearly impossible to carry on a conversation in this place. Shouting over the entire hour and a half. We won't be returning and cannot recommend this place to our friends. Hugely over priced for mediocre food. Our bill was $215 before tip. This was for two steaks and one hamburger. One of the steaks was very tough. I did not ask our guest how his steak was. I added on scallops which included only 3 smallish scallops for $23. The sides to the steaks were small and mediocre We also shared 2 mediocre desserts. No drinks were purchased except one person had a diet soda. The location was in an industrial section of Spruce Grove. Every time I've gone the food has been immaculate. Mouth watering delicious foods and beverages. The staff are friendly. The layout is so unique. Fantastic little Spanish restaurant hidden away in the industrial section of the city of Spruce Grove. It is definitely worth looking for as their service and menu is awesome. Not great its ok, although the steaks were cooked to the right temperature they did not have any fantasitc flavor. When I go some where to eat I expect to get a meal with a side, but you have to order your side at extra cost. This place is too pretentious. Can't say that the Caesar (drink) was really special either. I definitely can say I have had much better drink and food elsewhere for less $$. Not worth it in my books. The food here is terrific. Great ambience and decor as well. Staff are great! Only down side is the seating limit of 30 minutes as they're fairly busy. I don't like to commit to a smaller window and inhale my food. THe only reason I don't come more is because of this... I don't want to take a huge amount of time for lunch or dinner but I don't like being rushed- it's more elevated than fast food so 1-1.5h seating limit is more reasonable. read more

Superb! First time trying this new restaurant today. Went for lunch and had a great meal. My wife and I both had the steak sandwich which was outstanding with a large piece of steak that was beautifully seasoned and cooked to perfection with a great , but subtle, smoky flavor. Excellent fries as a side. We split a burnt basque cheesecake for dessert and it was delicious. Very nice decor and the service was first rate. The only small negative would be that it was somewhat cool in the restaurant from the air conditioning, but we are already looking forward to our next visit, even though it means driving out from Edmonton. read more
