It has been a week since our first visit, it was very rainy but the line to get in for dinner was still long. My son and I got a two-top near the bar so we could watch the World Cup. I was there for about 20 minutes until I was offered any service, even though the manager walked past me and said hello twice. The bar was full the bartenders had their hands full and the service bar tickets were coming out like a CVS receipt. The diners and drinkers all seemed like they were in a good mood and there were a few jokes about the drinks service, but nobody left. Our server Nicole saved the day! She was attentive and got us our drinks as soon as the service bar could complete them. She was pleasant and energetic and someone who makes you want to go back! Our wings were as good as any in the area. Our burgers were both cooked perfectly with the toppings done well. The crowd was much more relaxed this visit and the atmosphere was less stressful. I took a walk past the kitchen area and I could tell it was run efficiently, which explains the great food service. Once management gets the service bar and bar tenders up to speed, this will be a place the will be a regular stop for people I the area. There is plenty of parking, easy access to RT 295 and other major roads which makes it a good place to stop during a drive through our wonderful state. The Turtle has a 5 star potential, but they have to get their beverage serving and efficiency figured out.

Another successful addition to my food investment portfolio. At this point, my friends are convinced I own stock in every new restaurant that opens, and after opening night at The Thirsty Turtle, I can't exactly prove them wrong. The place was packed, but the atmosphere was clean, modern, and had a great vibe. Service started a little slow, and I briefly wondered if my "investment" was in trouble. Fortunately, our bartender, LAUREN completely turned it around--friendly, funny, and attentive, making for a great overall experience. The chicken vodka sandwich was incredibly tender and packed with flavor. My husband's BBQ bacon burger was cooked perfectly and was just as delicious. We both agreed the seasoned fries deserved their own fan club. We started with the dumplings (definitely worth ordering), enjoyed a couple of well-crafted cocktails, and somehow still found room for the warm, gooey apple blossoms with vanilla ice cream. Sweet without being overly sweet--the perfect ending to the meal. For an opening night, I was genuinely impressed. Looks like my food portfolio just got a little stronger. I'll definitely be back... purely for research purposes.

We didn't realize that the restaurant was a part of a country club until we arrived (no where in the reviews did it mention this) but we've done brunch at other country clubs throughout Jersey and it was wonderful. Upon entering the restaurant we saw their only brunch option was for a brunch buffet and from our quick scans of the buffet walking to the hostess stand we all decided we would not be doing brunch (pastries looked like they were from Coscto, warm food looked as though it had been sitting there for a while and the omelettes coming from the omelette station didn't look spectacular so we opted to do their lunch menu instead. Service was SSSLLLLLOOOOOWWWWW! From the very beginning until the very end. It took about 15 minutes before our server arrived to greet us, then another 15 for our first round of cocktails to come out, the about a half an hour for us to be told that they were out of 1 of the 3 appetizers we ordered ... so no lie, after being there a full hour we finally received 2 of the 3 appetizers and were then just able to order a second round of cocktails and our main courses. The cocktails weren't the greatest either. We thought perhaps the first round was our fault because we all tried their "blackberry espresso martini" and we knew it was a risk from the beginning ... so we ordered "safer" cocktails for round 2 and the prosecco based cocktails were even worse than the blackberry espresso martinis smh. I truly don't understand how one messes up prosecco + a splash of limoncello and cranberry (that was what was supposed to be in the cocktail) but they certainly messed it up, to the point where I didn't drink it. Our entrees finally arrived and WOMP WOMP WOMP! Overall every single one was MID at best ... and all I had was French onion soup and a wedge salad .... like how is it possible for those to be BLAH? Food was so MEH we didn't even take pics lol. Needless to say we all agreed we wouldn't be back and wished we had decided on what was our 2nd option for brunch instead.

So, the only reason I opted for Randalls is because it's a short drive and I had work after dinner so it was convenient. Based on their IG posts, it seemed decent. From what I was told, they try to be an upscale steakhouse so bad but just couldn't get it right. But enough of this heresay and here's my actual experience. There's valet. This is a golf course/club house and they have plenty of private spaces for parties and events. They seemed to have coat check but when we arrived, no one offered to check our coats. The main hostess lady that night (in her mint green sweater dress and leather booties) talked to us with a flat face, sans warmth and hospitality, and couldn't manage to fake a smile. She stopped by a couple of times to say we are doing okay and not needing anything. It was more of a statement rather than a query or concern. Then she walked away before I could answer, both times. The ambiance, it's very intimate. They have ample space. Our server was very accommodating and pleasant (I believe her name was Robin). Now here's my honest review on the food. We ordered fried calamari, nothing fancy just good old fried calamari. I feel like you really can't get this wrong because it's breaded and deep fried. It was stinky! Really fishy fish bite that you couldn't ignore it! I mainly ordered this for the kids but after I tasted it, I didn't want to give it to the kids. So they had bread instead. No complaint there. MIL got the filet mignon, ordered medium - it was barely cooked and begging to be seasoned. My husband and I got the lamb chops and I ordered an extra side of toasted sweet potatoes. The lamb chops were also not to the temperature I ordered it and was very undercooked. It didn't have any flavor whatsoever, and the only way I was able to tolerate this bland meat was to dip it in the sauce it came with. The potatoes were very charred on the outside but tough on the inside. The sugars on the outside were so burned it was bitter. If you're looking for a legitimate steakhouse, this ain't it!

We made a reservation for 8:30 and arrived about 20 minutes early so we were expecting to have a little wait before our table was ready. The place was jam packed! Even trying to find a seat at the large bar to have a cocktail before dinner was virtually impossible but we wound up finding one. The bartender made really great drinks so we were very pleased while waiting for our table. Once seated we were provided with water almost immediately and our server arrived shortly after. We put in our drink and appetizer order and then the amazing bread with peppers arrived (complimentary) and we were like two kids in a candy shop. I don't know what they do to those peppers but they're delicious ... and pair perfectly with what I call their pizza bread. Appetizer and drinks were superb and after putting in our entree orders they were placed in front of us in under 20 minutes - fresh, hot and delicious! Neither of us could finish the entrees so we asked for to go containers ... and we certainly gobbled the leftovers up the following day. Oh and there's complimentary valet parking (just tip the valets) which makes for a stress free entrance and exit from the busy parking lot. Giumarellos never disappoints and it was no different this time.

Only thing I wish is that they went beyond the Hendricks for it, or did the special snack with them (when in Spain, they will bring you a little tray of a snack that accompanies the pairing). The food was very good. The chicken francaise was awesome, perfectly fried and seasoned, as were the meatballs. Very impressive hummus trio though! The hummus flavors were all very well thought out and felt like they were actually made to match the Italian style, rather than slapped on the menu. Honestly some of the best we have had outside of Lebanese restaurants. I was very skeptical it could match, but G bar beat the local hype and is now on our top list

My wife again chose The Chop House for her birthday dinner celebration and for great reason! We came on her birthday, a Tuesday evening, for drinks and appetizers in the bar area. The gentleman working valet was very respectful and professional and while I can take or leave valet in most cases, he definitely added to the upscale experience of the entire night. Upon seating ourselves at a high-top, both bartenders on shift greeted us with huge smiles and very warm hello's. They are familiar faces to my wife's family and were genuinely happy to see us. Unfortunately, we learned my wife's family's favorite server, Debbie, recently retired but great for her! The bartenders were fabulous themselves. Service, personability, mixology skills were all top-notch. They fit the sophisticated vibe of the restaurant perfectly. We started with drinks of course! A Stoli Elit Martini with a twist, a Dirty Martini, an Apple Butter Old Fashioned, and a Tito's and Club. The drinks came out beautifully. Smooth, chilled. I ordered the Apple Butter Old Fashioned as I was intrigued, but skeptical. While I thought it was good, I'd prefer a regular or Smoked Old Fashioned to the Apple Butter. My wife loved it though. We ordered lots of food to split and each appetizer we picked was as good if not better than the next. The Tuna Nachos fresh and had a tropical, savory flavor with pineapple mixed in. The Kona Tips were tender, full of flavor coming from the Kona crust and sautéed mushrooms/onions, and were served in a skillet full of sauce perfect for soaking up with bread. I actually liked the Kona Tips appetizer more than I liked the Kona Crust I got on my NY Strip I ordered last year (the Strip was great I'd just prefer no Kona crust on the entree). The Flatbread De Jour was a Kona Tip flatbread, which you may call us crazy for ordering two Kona Tip inspired appetizers, but the Kona Tips are just that good. The Oysters we had were small (just how I like them) and were up there with the best Oysters I've had. We finished up with Fried Calamari. They were lightly battered, fried nicely, tender, and served over a bed of different hot peppers (when I say hot, I mean it!). Everything was delicious and there wasn't one appetizer we chose that I wouldn't order again or recommend to others. We did order a few more drinks throughout the night -- another Elit Martini and a Hendrix Martini with the appetizers and then Bailey's on the rocks and Frangelico on the rocks as after dinner, dessert drinks. We ordered a Brownie Sundae for the table for my wife's birthday while she was excused from the table and the bartender brought it out with a lit candle. The bartender also brought out a complementary miniature Crème Brûlée for my wife as she acknowledged The Chop House's Crème Brûlée as one of her favorites earlier in the night when we were talking about the menu. I thought the entire night went as good as you could have hoped. Valet, bar service, food, drinks, desserts, atmosphere. Everything was amazing and most importantly my wife had a great birthday. This is two years in a row we celebrated her birthday at The Chop House and I wouldn't mind seeing this turn into her birthday tradition.

He checked on us through out our meal to ensure we were enjoying our meal. We had the calamari and dozen raw oysters which were both fresh and delicious. We had the Chophouse steak experience which worked out perfectly for our table of four and actually could've feed 5 easily. It consisted of 4 cuts of steaks and my favorites were the filet and ribeye. They were seasoned perfectly and grilled medium rare. Our sides were mashed potatoes, CH hash browns, and grilled asparagus. The weakest link was the asparagus which were small in size but still tasty. I will definitely be back based on service, food and value. This is a perfect restaurant for celebrations, dates and casual dining. Definitely a gem of a restaurant. Will be back sooner than later.

One of the most fun things on the menu is their chicken "thumbs," which are shaped like little hands -- I wish I took a picture because they're great and definitely something you don't see everywhere. Service can be a little hit or miss, but not because the staff isn't working hard -- it's a big place and when it gets busy, it really gets busy, and they sometimes seem a bit understaffed for the rush. That said, everyone is always very friendly, which makes a big difference and keeps the experience positive. They also have a huge bar with several beers on tap, great specialty drinks, and drink specials, so it's a great place to hang out with friends and have a good time. Overall, definitely worth a visit. Just maybe don't go if you're in a big rush -- go when you have time to relax, enjoy the atmosphere, and have a good meal.

Parking was a challenge on a Friday night as every space was full and turning around in the back lot involves making a k turn around the other vehicles who are also looking for a spot. We ended up parking down the street and walking over. We were seated immediately, as the bar has ample seating, both high tops and regular tables. My bff wasn't in the mood for a cocktail so we opted for Arnold palmers. Now, I am a HUGE avocado fan and I had heard about their infamous avocado fries so I was super excited about trying them. That may or may not have been the main reason for my visit. The avocado fries are fresh large slices of avocado breaded in panko and fried with a sweet and tangy spicy mayo sauce. I loved them but my bff wasn't as excited. He informed me he isn't a huge fresh avocado fan, so this one is for the avocado lovers. We also opted for the chicken parm rollers which is described as "Chicken mixed with ricotta cheese, herbs and spices rolled in panko breadcrumbs served with house made marinara and shaved parmesan" - they are chicken meatballs. We expected something else and now that we've had them and I re-read the description I'm not sure what we had in mind but it wasn't this. They were just okay. I think if they were placed on a plate with seasoned whipped ricotta and drizzled with pesto it could boost the flavor experience. For our entrees my bff got the chicken strips with the sweet and sassy sauce and I opted for the KO burger. My KO burger was delicious. The seeded brioche bun was buttery and fresh and the burger itself was flavorful. The fries were also fantastic. Fresh cut and sprinkled with a sweet seasoning, I didn't even feel the need to add ketchup or a side of aioli or anything. They were perfect. I didn't try my bffs chicken tenders but the sweet and sassy sauce tasted just like buffalo sauce. Pretty sure it was the wrong sauce but he didn't say anything to our server so that's on us. If you are looking for a bar to hang out and watch sports, get a drink, and have a great burger, I'd recommend this place - but maybe uber there.
