Really awesome place overall with ample true outdoor seating but also really great indoor/ outdoor seating out back which is where we sat and it was the perfect temperature! Our entrees on the other hand weren't as great. We both had entrees with carne asada and we agreed that there was something "off" with the steak ... perhaps not as fresh as it should've been or something, we said we'd veer away from it next time we visited ... because we WILL visit again since finding a Mexican restaurant in the area that is NOT a BYOB seems impossible for some reason so, Central Taco & Tequila is now our go to spot lol. I thoroughly enjoy the outdoor seating and backyard games here on a nice day, however the food has always been unimpressive. Given I am vegetarian so my options are limited. Their cocktails and margaritas are great, but I have yet to try food here that I genuinely would rave about. I live within walking distance and come here every once in a while. Not much of a tequila or margarita guy but sometimes the mood strikes. The ambiance is lovely every time I come. Great outdoor spaces for warmer weather, and the inside is always packed and lively. Most recently came on a Saturday night in October with a few friends. Our waitress was excellent. Wish I remembered her name! She was incredibly attentive and also patient when we were being indecisive on food and drinks and needed more time. I loved the mezcal I ordered, which is hard to find at other bars I've been to, so it's my go to drink when I come here. Our one friend ordered two different margaritas and didn't finish either one, though. She said they were too sweet. I really enjoyed the carne asada tacos I got but wow they were small. The picture doesn't do them justice. Definitely more of an appetizer than a main meal. Overall great spot in a town with lots of incredible restaurants. Definitely worth checking out. read more

I would gladly travel for these tacos. I've visited Central Taco and Tequila a few times over the years, and I'm always very pleased with it. On my last visit, I was surprised and delighted by some new seasonal tacos on the menu (but I had to go with my fave - The Crispy Fish). It was nice to know there was a veggie option. Service was great, as usual. The only potential issue is that there was a DJ, and the volume from that made it a little difficult for us to communicate with our waitress and each other. The floors were nasty and covered with previous tables' food. The menus had residue and bits of food stuck to them. If you're going to sell a drink as "blood orange", put actual blood orange in it and not just orange juice/an orange slice. Street corn so lazy you don't even mix the ingredients. Enchiladas were small and came out dry with zero sauce, which means they were taquitos. Also charged for the wrong bill so I have to wait for that reimbursement to come through. read more

My expectations were not very high, considering the restaurant specializes in tacos, though I loved my salad! We went here for the first time last night and had a great experience! There was no wait and we were seated outside. They had a DJ playing music starting at 6pm for their "Fiesta Friday". They started us with complimentary chips and salsa. For drinks we had the strawberry pineapple margarita and the jalapeño margarita. The strawberry pineapple margarita was good but it wasn't strained enough, so it was very thick. For tacos, we ordered the shrimp coconut tacos and the shrimp and chorizo tacos. Both were very tasty! Came here with a girl friend in early May (ahead of Cinco De Mayo) and from a food perspective, I thought it was really good. We got nachos that were really flavorful, my friend had brussel sprouts that looked really well charred, and i got their specialty pork belly tacos that were the perfect blend of all flavors. I got a lemon blueberry margarita that was absolutely pure perfection. From the service / ambiance side, this probably isn't the place for you if you're looking for speed or good conversation. The empanada was absolutely drowned in crema and chipotle cream. It totally overpowered the empanada. My soup was good, but very spicy, not advertised on the menu. I can handle heat, but this choked me up a bit. Service at this point was very, very slow and inattentive. We needed napkins, water and drink refills and had to wait for those. Entrees were just ok. The shrimp fajitas were served with 4 tiny flour tortillas. A handful of shrimp were overcrowded by tons of onions and peppers. Too many vegetables, not enough shrimp or tortillas. The drinks were the star of the show. Especially the blood orange Margarita. What an incredible combination! I've been telling everyone about this. The slice of blood orange in the drink was a nice touch. My friend enjoyed her frozen lemonade. Central Taco is a on my list for affordable drink, food & good for gatherings. There is a small parking lot and the train station lot is usually open. This Friday I went in at 6 and it was a full restaurant of people but no wait. Most staff is wearing masks (2022). The food are smaller on portions but fair in price, which makes it easier to choose variety. I really enjoyed the street corn soup special but it did have the vibe of being a dip. Super creamy and a bit cheesey, more like a snack. The tacos Ive had in past visits were pretty decent & the (one) empanada app was also tasty. Id give this a thumbs up to go visit. Finally had an opportunity to visit Central Taco & Tequila, the 23rd restaurant operated by PJW Restaurant Group. This location was formerly the Irish Mile. I really like the open and spacious industrial look and feel of the interior restaurant with plenty of large windows amplifying the 150 seat space. They have an outdoor deck off the back side of the restaurant with some seating and plenty of tables and umbrellas setup out front in what used to be the parking lot pre-pandemic. The food was decent with some great menu options and service was excellent, but based on my first visit, I would frequent more for the impressive tequila list (91 total) and margaritas then the food. More visits and tasting needed to fully review the food. read more

Decided to give this place a try despite bad reviews. Bad decision. Got the lemon blueberry margarita, it was very sweet, and not much alcohol in it. As my husband and i were sitting at the bar, the guy next to us was basically pushing my husband out of his seat. Apparently he was a regular, as all the bartenders knew him and the woman he was with. We left the bar and got on the waitlist for a table. Luckily we only had to wait for 10 min or so. We ordered the guacamole, spicy chicken tacos, and the Korean beef tacos. I should have known by the price point that these tacos were lacking with filling. The chicken tacos had a sad piece of fried chicken in each tortilla and the taste was ok. Thankfully we ordered the pineapple salsa to add some flavor. The Korean tacos had a bit more flavor, but not as flavorful as i would expect. The guacamole was just ok. This is the first time I left a restaurant hungry. I realized that the restaurant is full of young adults, probably bc the food is cheap. If you are looking for good margaritas and good tacos, this is NOT the place. Go anywhere else. read more
