I'd actually go with 3.5 stars but I'm feeling generous today. Four stars on the food. We got the stuffed banana peppers as an app and shared the dill pickle pizza for our main course. The banana peppers were delicious. We also enjoyed the pizza. It was a thin crust style, which is OK but I was surprised at how light colored the crust was. If I didn't know they had a wood fired pizza oven, I would have said they baked the pizza in a 350 degree toaster oven. Just no color. We ate a little later that night, so I'm wondering if they let the fire in their oven burn down as they were getting ready to close about an hour later. Understandable I guess. Now the negative - we received only 2 banana peppers but the cost was $16. $8 per pepper! Way overpriced. The pizza was on the expensive side too. One other thing - we sat outside on their nice patio. Believe me, I am a music lover and love just about any music. I really appreciate restaurants when they have live musicians. But this night, there was a musician attempting to sing and play guitar that really detracted from the evening. So I've reviewed this restaurant a few times before strictly on the pizza. But they've been offering other more upscale dishes and I wanted to give them a try for that. Today is my birthday and I wanted to go here to celebrate with my family. Although I was craving a Supreme Pizza, others made diverse selections which I think provides a pretty conclusive picture. Bottom line is, this is a good pizza restaurant with good craft beers on tap. It is not a good upscale food restaurant . We ordered the onion rings as an appetizer. They were ok, needed some salt, but the breading was good. My husband ordered the special, surf and turf which was prime rib and crab cakes. Which was supposed to come with a salad, which he never got, and two sides. The pasta side was penne with a very bland tomato sauce, it actually tasted like straight tomato sauce from a can. And the other side was grilled veggies, which were nice. The crab cakes were very good, with very little filler. The prime rib was fatty, tough and flavorless and kind of grey. We took most of it home for the dog. By the way, it was $55. My daughter ordered the salmon salad and was very happy with it. My son had the fish sandwich and said the best part of it was the bun. The fish had been fried too long in old oil and was limp and greasy. French fries were too. Although the menu said it came with Cole slaw, which he did not get. I guess he got the fries instead. Both my husband and daughter ordered the French Onion Soup. Apparently they grill the onions, but they were burned and gave the soup a acrid flavor. Not good. My Supreme pizza was very good as always. A solid menu choice. That pizza is 5 star worthy. Water and glasses were put on the table first thing with the menus. One of the 4 glasses had salt left on the rim from someone else's Margarita. Three of us ordered beer but my husband asked for unsweetened iced tea. It came and when he tasted it, asked me to taste it. It was very watered down. He asked the waitress if she could do something about it and she said she couldn't because it came out of the fountain like that. So he ordered a ginger ale instead. He had to ask her 2 more times to get it. Once we were home I looked more closely at the bill and realized they charged us both for the gross watery iced tea and the ginger ale which replaced it. We heard a guy at the next table complaining about the iced tea too. Why not just say it was not available instead of serving a bad drink? Overall, our waitress was not the best because when I ordered a second beer, she brought me a Yeungling, which was the beer my son had ordered, not the Block House Blueberry I had originally. I kept it, I like Yeungling too. So because of the service and the overpriced special, the dirty glass and the greasy overcooked food, the rating can only be 3 stars. Pizza was 5 stars. They need to stick to what they do well which are the pizza, and forget the upscale food. read more

I was supposed to meet some friends for dinner, but when they backed out my family and I still went. I'm so glad I finally had a chance to try this restaurant! It was so good and had a good atmosphere. We sat on the bar side which was louder than the restaurant side, and we wanted to watch the hockey game. This is to be expected though, so it's not bad or a complaint. Our food was hot, fresh, and delicious. The fries on my salad were crispy and shrimp were a good size and not tiny. I had seen the sign announcing crab cakes and chilean sea bass for the weekend, so when Joyce said she was not in the mood for Italian or steak, I suggested Thirty's. The place has looked unassuming from outside, but when we arrived, Joyce immediately commented on the attractiveness of the outdoor patio area (though too bit chilly for that evening). Going inside, we saw the bar side and the dining area, which had only a few patrons. We began to worry, but quickly discovered that we had no cause for concern. Our server Mary was excellent. She told us of the specials, and we both chose the crab cakes. These were some of the best I've had anywhere. The ahi tuna appetizer was also very, well, appetizing! In spite of the large salad, we both decided to have desserts (eat some now, take the rest home because otherwise we would have been unable to move). Both of our cake selections were also delicious. Went here a couple weeks ago in a referral from a couple friends.... We had their margarita pizza, tuna poke bowl, and dessert.... Margarita pizza may have been one of the best I've ever had... I have been here 3 times and each time we were here for over 2 hours. The staff is very nice but it should not take this long for pizza and fried food. It would be hard to find a restaurant with better food or service than Thirty's. We were visiting friends from Pittsburgh and on an excursion to Idlewild with our kids and we found this place for lunch. We walked right in and got a table for seven with a highchair. The highchair and the booth/table was very clean. The setting was both modern and stylish yet relaxing. Within a minute, the server was greeting us and offering us drinks. Before the server even left, the owner came out of the kitchen with a plate of chopped up fresh veggies and picked eggs for the kids to snack on while we waited. The veggies were extremely fresh and colorful. The ranch dressing was homemade and it was excellent. The kids were happy and the parents were happy because they were chowing down on something healthy. They did not even charge us for it. They also left a glass bottle of water at the table so we would not run out. They brought the kids little dinosaur cups with bendy straws. They offered the adults to sample the many beers available. My husband asked for recommendations and ended up finding a new craft beer he really enjoyed. All around great way to start. We ordered a family size salad. The menu described a very decked out salad with a wide variety of veggies, peppers, tomatoes, two kinds of olives, beets, pickled eggs, cheese, among others. We asked for some people who did not like everything so we asked to have the toppings on the side. So they brought out this huge bowl of fresh greens (and I mean fresh! - green leaf lettuce and purple radicchio) and a huge plate of veggies and cheeses. Each adult had two good sized bowls of salad. The kids even ate some (even after devouring their veggie tray) because it looked that good. We also got an appetizer fry basket with a side of cheese. The fries tasted freshly cut and were nicely salted. They were a little crispy for my taste, but that makes sense given that they are usually served smothered with cheese or gravy. The cheese was the weakest aspect of the meal - it was just run of the mill yellow queso, nothing special. We probably should have tried the house made gravy but live and learn. Still good. But the pizzas stole the show. We ordered a large supreme with homemade hot sausage and a margherita. Both were excellent! The crust was perfectly cooked - crisp and crunchy outside with some chewy goodness inside. The margherita had a generous amount of cheese and it was obviously very fresh mozzarella. The tomatoes were stewed in some seasonings and there was the perfect touch of garlic olive oil. It had the perfect amount of fresh basil. It is one of the best margherita pizzas (maybe the best) I have ever had. The supreme was also really good. The peppers and onions were crisp and fresh, the mushrooms were very fresh, and it had a good amount of pepperoni and hot sausage. We were concerned that the hot sausage might be a bit too intense for the kids, but it was very nicely flavored and we all enjoyed it. The heat from the sausage was low and slow, which made for a nice compliment to the cheese and the tangy sauce. The server checked on us several times. The guy working the wood fired pizza oven came and asked us how we liked the pizza. The owner came back and talked to us again and we had a really nice conversation. We had lots of attention and still never felt pressured. This was SERVICE. The server offered us dessert but we had already eaten a ton of food so we passed. Next time! We live in another state or we would make this our regular place for sure. The next time I am in a 100 mile radius of this place, I will be back! read more

Tried for the first time tonight. The hamburger pizza was excellent and so were the wings. The salad has a lot of things added to it. One of the better salads I've had in a while.
