As soon as you walk in, you're greeted by a ceiling filled with porcelain teacups. I ordered the Masala Chai with spice, cardamom, and cinnamon, which was served in a beautiful teapot so you can pour your own cups. It was perfection. I paired it with the Morning Bowl of Greek yogurt, topped with fresh fruit, nuts, and honey, plus a side of whole wheat toast with honey. Everything was fresh and filling. I'd definitely recommend the Greek yogurt; my friend ordered the chia pudding and wished she had chosen mine. Connected to The Café is The Shop, which has candles, essential oils, jewelry, and other goods, all made by women survivors. Thistle Farms is such a darling cafe and gift shop in Nashville! We stopped in for brunch and I was impressed with their wide selection of unique drinks and food options. The pricing was very fair and proceeds support programs to help victims of human trafficking get back on their feet. Service was wonderful here. Everyone was incredibly warm and welcoming. One of the staff members saw me taking a selfie with my friend and he offered to take our photo for us. It was a little gesture that meant a lot! After we ate, we stopped into the gift shop where I picked up a few souvenirs for my Nashville trip. I loved the selection of super cute gifts and appreciated that the proceeds in the shop supported the same charitable cause as the cafe. Like the cafe, the employees were so lovely and welcoming! Hands down one of the breakfast meals I've had in my 5 years in Nashville! I just happened to find this place when I was looking for a place in the area near the thrift shop I wanted to check out. When I got there, there was a long line of people waiting to order, but the line moved steadily moved and there was more than plenty of seating for the large crowd. I ordered the grilled ham and Brie sandwich with the soup of the day which was a black bean soup. My boyfriend ordered the chicken salad sandwich with the pesto pasta salad. The founder of Thistle Farms, Becca Stevens is so kind, loving, and humble. The whole Thistle Farms team is amazing. They create high quality products that are healing. Everything they produce is hand poured in small batches by women survivors who are paid a living wage, provided a strong benefits package, and a healthy work environment. This establishment is not friendly at all to food allergies. As a repeat customer, they refused to substitute dairy and gluten for anything else saying that food costs increase for other items. I haven't been to the farm, but everytime I buy something from them, body butter, leather journal, bug spray-- it just comes to be such wonderful quality. The lavender body butter seriously changed my life, and I just got something else life changing from here over the holidays, which is the flax seed eye pillow. Tonight's my first night using it and I just wanted to stop by somewhere on the internet to let you know that this place rocks my socks off more than any other body or self care brands consistenly and everything they sell that they didn't make seems to be very vetted for quality as well. Let me start by saying I had a tough time rating thistle and farm. I appreciate and love everything they do for what they stand for. The renovation has made the place spacier and perfect for work events. Caution as parking is limited as you'll have to find parking on street. Pros - great place to grab coffee, pastry, and even get some work done. The inside is nicely set up. Cons - My reason for knocking 1 Star off. The food is just ok to me. We've been here for a few work events and each time I felt like the food is just a "bolt-on" to what they do vs. something they're pumping their chest on.
