Thomas Car Wash was recently sold to new owners, and I hope that they continue the great service and washes that Thomas has become known for. I visited again recently. Pretty much anytime I'm on Hurstbourne and have some time, I stop to get my car washed here. I always choose the mid-tier wash for $15, which gets my car clean and shiny. On top of the great wash and the clerks who will power wash the front of your car before you enter -- just to make sure all the bugs and bits are off -- I also appreciate the fact that Thomas has free vacuums for interior cleaning. These have always worked great. You can also powerwash your floor mats. Thomas has those little extra bits that make an experience stand out. Please don't lose those! Update: I received a call a day after submitting my claim and spoke with a very nice man who went over my claim to get me on the right track. After that call, I took my car to their offered appraisal and currently waiting for a call back. We used to use Thomas car wash a lot as I saw the value they had for washing cars and good pricing. Their prices have gone up, just as everything else has in the past two years. Unfortunately, I lost my car's antenna cover while at the car wash but didn't realize it right away( kids in the car). I was unable to get back to the car wash on the day it happened so I called multiple days only to leave multiple voicemails and never received any response. It was just an antenna cover, not the end of the world. So I finally was able to stop by the car wash to speak with someone only to have them say they had none. And they mentioned to submit my claim online and (hopefully) someone would speak with me. I doubt anyone will reach out, as it's past their 72 hours of mark. We wanted a subscription service and wanted to support local. Since our subscription started the local car wash on old Bardstown road was damaged from a storm, never repaired and then the local franchise sold. The Hurstbourne Taylorsville isn't convenient for me but I went there yesterday on my way into work at 9. There were workers there but the car wash was closed. I parked and walked around to ask questions. I've called the new owner and no one picks up the phone. Apparently that location is slated to be closed summer and I was told that there would be other locations...one on Breckenridge. I have no idea where they are going to put that but I'm more than fed up, my patience has lasted a year, the vacuums rarely suck (in a bad way) and now this crappy location is closed. read more

I was getting a car wash here for the first time today November 24th 2023 and it was a terrible experience. The guy working in front of the car wash today at 11am he was like a blonde white guy with a beard. He had a terrible attitude and screamed at me. He wasn't even doing his job. He was just standing there staring at my car and then he screams at me to "hurry up come on let's go" there was literally no one behind me, so it's not like he had a reason to have a terrible attitude. Then I just stared at him in shock at how rude he is, and he sprayed me IN MY FACE with the bug spray. His job is to direct my car into the car wash and he can't even do that properly and then he's mad at me because I was waiting for him to do his job? Disgusting attitude & horrible staff. read more

I honestly wasn't a big fan. While it got my car clean, I didn't think the vacuums had very good suction. My car did get clean which was the main goal. I just wouldn't come here all the time. The dude working there yesterday was so unenthusiastic, he looked so bored, took a mostly-dry scrub brush to my mirrors and windshield, whereas they normally spray the car with soap before sending you through the tunnel. Also, prices jumped up dramatically. And after exiting the tunnel, the car was still grimy and soapy. read more

My car had developed an off musty smell since winter. I tried a few different things at home to try to kill off the damp smell but nothing worked. I made an appointment for Thomas Car Wash car detail online--super easy! When I got to Thomas, the guys were very friendly and welcomed me. We went over my car together, pointing out the issues I've been having with the carpets and weird smell. A few hours later, the horrid damp smell in my car was GONE! I can drive my car with the windows up again--hallelujah! Bonus: The next day, I picked up my brother-in-law from the airport. My brother-in-law is known for his orderly cleanliness. This car wash was nice and did a pretty good but not as good as the one on Bardstown Rd. This one is much more self service than the other one, I had to do my own vacuuming, wipe off my own wet spots, and drive it through myself. That may be the only positive over the other location if you don't want somebody else in your car but I NEVER had any problems at the other location. If you can't make it to Bardstown Rd. this place gets the job done but make sure to bring some rags for the wipe down after the wash. I'd venture to guess that anytime we spend a ridiculous $15 to get a car wash that's not the $5 basic, we expect--at a minimum-- no damage done and a clean exterior and well vacuumed interior upon completion. I've been a monthly pass customer in the past of the larger other Thomas Car Wash on Bardstown Rd but don't get to that part of town routinely. I used to frequent whatever this car wash was named prior to Thomas Carwash taking it over, & never had a single problem with the $3-$5 car washes under the former owner. I am not the type to expect a kid grime laden mini van that's a decade old to come out sparkling clean at a car wash. I DO expect my 2019 Civic to very easily come out sparkling clean--& dry-- with the front & back bumpers and windows looking clean after a $15 'wash'. Sadly, my experience was a huge disappointment . First off, the super fast less than minute & a half 'wash' had my car dripping wet upon exit (meaning I had to spend 15 mins towel drying in 100 degree heat). As I began the towel drying I noticed windows weren't even as clean as if I used the solution at a Kroger gas station for free. Lots of spots of pollen or bug goo still on hood of car, bumpers, doors, windows. NOT clean, in fact looked about like it had when I drove up! No manager appeared to be on hand so I asked a worker about a refund or a resolution as I expect a clean car from a $15 wash...& clearly (see photos), my car was not clean. He agreed to let me drive back through for a 2nd wash & dry. Fair enough, round 2. Car once again pulled through the car wash in less than a minute and a half with about 3-4 seconds max at the 'dryer' part at the end. Once again, my car wasn't at all dry upon exit. So for the 2nd time I'm out myself in the sweltering heat towel drying my car....& taking photos of how poorly this 'car wash' washed my very new car that really wasn't filthy or anywhere near to start with. I'm giving this location one star solely because the attendant did let me drive my car through a second time, but that yielded same outcome: unhappy customer overcharged for an uncleaned car. Don't even get me started on the 'vacuum hose' that sounded like it was on but had minimal suction so in effect did not vacuum up any of the few minor crumbs on my floor mats. I was about to just drive home & vacuum with my shop vac but went to several other vacuum areas before finding one that was actually suctioning to vacuum. When a customer spends 20 times as long drying their vehicle than the automated 'car wash' took, it's a problem! I doubt I'll return here as I expect a clean car from any car wash, but especially when a higher priced wash package is purchased. I think I'll pay my teens to hand wash the car even in the sweltering heat next time and at least the car would be cleaner than this visit. read more

Since the owner retired, the car wash is horrible. The machinery is only half working. I had a monthly subscription for 5 years. I just canceled today. The workers said there are no plans to repair at the moment. They are using a 2x4 piece of wood to keep the track running for each car. Tire shine doesn't work, the pressure washer only has half the nozzles working. Complete joke. I'll be taking my business elsewhere. read more

While I paid for the most expensive service they offered the vehicle was not clean, the enterior was left a mess as the product they sprayed on the inside and onto the weathertech matts was not wiped off. I ended up having to wipe down the inside of the vehicle and inside all of the doors. I won't go back. read more

Overall my car washes have been good. There are two things that are desk breakers at this specific location . The first one is that there's a curve you have to pull in to get into the car wash. In that curve is where you have to line up your wheels on the track. I've seen many people scrape up their rims included my own. It's happened to me twice and every car in front of me scraped their rims. Another downfall are their vacuums. They aren't powerful enough. read more

This is one of the best car washes that I've ever used. There are a bunch of different options but what I like is the most expensive one which is $20 because they use some sort of laser dry and you don't have to get out and hand dry your car. In New York City they typically would have people hand-dry your car after the machine wash but I never saw that anywhere else. That's why it's great that they're automatic wash can really get your car dry. Or you can get the cheaper wash option and then there's plenty of space to pull over and vacuum your car and dry it off. read more

Came here from Car Wash USA. Car Wash USA is horrible, so I needed to find a new place. The customer service so far with Thomas is first rate. Very friendly, and helpful. I like the fact that it's locally owned. I bought the top monthly pass so I haven't visited all of the locations but plan to do it. The wash is good, not the best but good. Bugs did have a tough time coming off and the drying could be a bit better. Although, it is not bad by any means. The wash bay is clean and all the equipment looks modern. It also uses scratch free wash equipment which is good at minimizing swirl marks. So far I like it. read more

I'm a simple man who enjoys simple things out of life. Going to the park, reading a good book, eating pasta, and petting my dog. The last few months though all the joy has been sucked out of my life. I couldn't do the things I enjoyed most. I'm too tired to go to the park, can't pay attention to any books, can barely take a bite out of pasta, and my wife left me and took the dog so I can't even pet Baxter anymore. I tried to pinpoint and figure out what the issue was. I tried everything. Therapy, acupuncture, and even took a trip to Florida. Nothing helped. Then I one day decided "you know I should get a car wash. That might help." I head on over to Thomas car wash and was in awe of how immaculate the service was. From the moment I arrived to the leaving, the good people at Thomas took care of me. They said hello and asked how I was, which is something you don't get much of these days even from family. They offered to drive my car up through the wash. At most washes once you go through them they are done with you and you don't see the employees again. Not at Thomas! As soon as you are done a cornucopia of employees greet you and continue drying off your car. My car was so clean afterwards you could eat dinner off of it with no plates (which I ended up doing lol with a nice pasta from Olive Garden). Not only that but I went to the park right afterwards and enjoyed a brisk walk. A few days later my wife came back to me and brought Baxter! I pet him. Never thought a car wash could save my life but Thomas did so and I would go back there in a heartbeat. 5 stars!!! read more

The parking lot needs a little bit more Direction where you enter or you exit where you pay there could be more customer service out front directing the traffic for new people that are not used to that specific facility the car wash did a mediocre job and I was not impressed with the free vacuum suction was not very strong therefore did not do a very good job plenty of spaces to do vacuuming and detailing read more

This is NOT a full service car wash and no where before entering are you told that, they need to do a better job of explaining this. The entry and pay process is completely automated and the explanations shown are some what sketchy. Once you enter you can not exit without paying and going through the wash. Once you exit the wash there are self-serve and free vacuum stations. The tunnel did a very good job of cleaning the exterior of my car. If you want a very good exterior wash I recommend this place (although it did seem a bit pricey for the services offered). If you want a full service car wash go elsewhere. read more

I stopped at Thomas Car Wash yesterday, 9/10/21, early afternoon to have my car washed, and as always got in the appropriate line. When I pulled up to the self-service machine, and man assisted me in making a selection, and when I removed my card, he said when the gate goes up go forward. Having been there numerous times, I knew the drill, but thanked him and moved forward. I was in line getting ready to enter the wash, when a young black man came running and yelling at me that I had not paid to get a wash. I was stunned because I had inserted by card and told to move forward. I told him I had paid with my debit, but he said that the car next to mine had a pass, which somehow he thought I took. I told him that an older man had helped me, even though I certainly had done it myself many times in the past, but he told me to show him my receipt. I have never gotten a receipt and have been going there for nine years. The young man insisted that I was stealing a wash, which totally flabbergasted me ( the wash is around $10) because the gate went up, the man told me to go forward, and I did as I was told to do. I told the man I would not do business in such a place and left using a side gate. Will never go there again, - extremely poor management. However, I want to thank the angry black young man, because I went to the carwash at Meijer on Hurstbourne and had my car washed. The wash was perhaps somewhat better, the dryer was much better, and the vacuums were excellent. Ultimately, he did me a favor because I got a much better wash. read more

Been going to this car wash for a few years now, having started going when I did a brief stunt driving for Lyft. While it does have room for improvement, I find myself going back time and time again. It's got a huge space with multiple spaces for FREE vacuum cleaning w/a car wash. The actual car washing isn't bad, isn't great. But I do like that it's got a vending machine for additional cleaning supplies and a floor mat cleaning machine, which is honestly a godsend when it comes to getting my dog's fur off of them.
