Back of building. Coming back from a visit to the vegetable/flower gardens. 5.4.18
    Kathy T.

Our entire family started going to this office regularly in 1998, when Dr. Robert J. Matkovich built this beautiful building. He is the original owner & was a fantastic dentist until he suddenly passed away in 2012. At the time of his passing, we received a personal letter from his adoring staff, who sadly announced his passing. Dr. Matkovich treated his staff as family, and as such, they felt a tremendous loss as part of his family. Dr. Matkovich was the best in the business. I really feel like it's just too bad this dentist office is not the same since Dr. Matkovich passed away. The business has seen many different owners & even though they have only minorly compared to Dr. Matkovich, we've continued to go here for our dental needs. I don't care that they've kept his gardens (although they've let them go pretty badly), but sadly, that's about all that's the same at this office. It's a shame Dr. Matkovich's legacy is not being carried out. Dr. Thompson seems to only be riding on the coattails of the reputation of Dr. Matkovich. Dr. Matkovich thrived because he offered something different. He had the knowledge & expertise & really knew what he was doing. He did Dental Science. He did the best cosmetic work of anyone I've been to & I've been to a lot of dentists in my life. Dr. Thompson is okay but I feel like she just wants to rush into doing a lot of work that, in my opinion, might be unnecessary. Not only that, but the office manager, Gail, is very rough. She has the personality of someone with no heart. After speaking with Gail, I feel like she has no compassion or credentials that I'd ever rely on. She has the approach of a used car saleswoman. This last visit, I was appalled at the dental hygienist & her method of taking X-rays. It was not the high-tech method previously used by Dr. Matkovich. I questioned why this method was even being used on a patient already in considerable pain. When it was indicated to the hygienist that pain was being felt, the hygienist continued to prod & hurt until I made them stop. Another hygienist was called in to finish the x-rays because the first hygienist could not be effective at her job. This is something that really irked me & helped with my decision to not have work done here. I was told that the amount of work Dr. Thompson felt was immediately necessary was going to cost in the range of "approximately" $26,000. I applied for Care Credit & was approved for only a very tiny amount since my other financial obligations are high compared to my salary. I tried explaining to Gail that I'm a single mom, retired & on a fixed income. I told her I'd need to have them "work with me". In other words, I asked them to cut me a break, a discount for doing so much work at their office. Instead, after Gail "talked to Dr. Thompson", all the work that they were scheduling was quickly being pushed forward. They had no compassion for my financial situation. In fact, Gail was very condescending & rude about it. I at least expected to hear from Dr. Thompson herself, but only got the message through Gail that I could take it or leave it. I don't think anyone should feel pressured to get dental work started & done quickly when it comes to the fact insurance companies pay little to nothing for dental work, thus making everything be paid out of pocket. Plus, to add insult to injury, it's sad & insulting to have a dental office talk to you so callously & refuse to work with you at all.

Beautiful lil' palm trees ready to greet you

Im sure we can all agree that these type of appointments never get easier, nonetheless they must get done. HEALTH IS WEALTH YALL! Ya girl can handle most, needles and blood don't phase me...yet I CRINGE at the thought of having my teeth drilled!! The drooling, poking, and scraping, I mean Talk about awkward and uncomfortable! Dr.Lindsey did my molar extraction and let me tell you she is the best!!! DIDN'T feel a thing and the procedure took her about 30 mins. Amazingly fast, efficient, and very well done. I was shocked by how skilled and a gentle hand she has. Will be coming back for the next two, but this time without the anxiety. I know I'll be in very good hands here. The whole staff here are simply amazing. The most caring, professional, and helpful group. You can tell they are very happy working here. Thank you to Thompson Center of Dentistry staff for taking such great care!

Nice people on staff, but not 600.00 for a simple extraction (excluding the "recommended" bone graft) nice.

Not many people in my life understand the cyclical traumas I have had related to my dental journey…read more When I was a kid, I had the perfect smile, but that changed faster than I could have anticipated. Someone tripped me and it chipped my front left tooth. Fast forward to 2018, my ex fiancé hit me in the face with his motorcycle helmet. I wasn't a candidate for oral surgery, and my face shape started changing. My jaw started slipping and I didn't know where to properly rest my teeth in my own mouth. My jaw was constantly inflamed. My smile which was once my greatest asset had became a burden to look at myself in a mirror. I struggled to chew, talk, or yawn. I felt angry all the time. I did pt for 2 years and became frustrated. I did emdr for the trauma. I got an idea from a person I knew to get braces in TJ in 2023 June. I had high hopes it would finally help with my tmj issue because they said so. Treatment meant for one year turned into two and eventually, the trust was gone. They claim to have lost my medical records and panoramic xrays I shared with them. All hope felt lost until I spoke to my dentist about everything. I was then referred to elite orthodontics, from my dentist who had formerly worked with Dr. Ehsani. My first appointment here was for a consult back on February 24. It was fast, and pretty straightforward. I was offered financing options as well. They took panoramic X-rays, dental mapping with mouth wands, and close up inspections. I was torn about how much the price was because I wish I had just gone to Dr. Ehsani from the very start, but we live and we learn, right? Before coming to this office, I developed some tooth sensitivity which my dentist identified as pressure from improper positioning causing enamel wear. Those dentists in TJ recommended something that didn't help, and I used it consistently for a few months. The sensitivity came back (because previous treatment gave a temp fix), which lead me to seek professional advice from both Dr. Ehsani and Dr. Freda. I trust them both, and appreciate that I can always seek a second opinion from either of them. They make a great team, and I feel welcome here. Also if anyone got this far, you should know the banter between the hygienists is worth witnessing. I always come before lunch hour due to my home location near Carlsbad- yes, they're worth the drive. So, if you want to, go ahead and fix your smile. (I will update my review with photos when treatment has concluded).

Elite kept me well informed and even recommended me an amazing oral surgeon when I was having trouble finding one that worked with my insurance. The office is clean and has a section for all your braces needs like wax, floss, toothbrushes, etc. there are also three sinks where you can brush and floss before getting your braces tightened. Every visit felt efficient and fast. The techs who tightened my braces were always professional and gentle. Special shoutout to Ashley who always was so friendly anytime she tightened my braces. I saw both Dr Ehsani and Dr Sabet and they were both phenomenal throughout my treatment before and after surgery. The front desk was always responsive and answered all my silly questions via text message. I can't stress how friendly everyone is in the office!! I highly recommend Elite Orthodontics to anyone who mentions getting braces and I would choose them again and again if I ever had to get braces in the future (I hope I don't have to but you get it)

My kids actually enjoy coming here, which says a lot! The staff is incredibly patient and accommodating, especially with little ones like my youngest who aren't the biggest fans of cleanings. They take their time, communicate clearly, and create an environment that feels safe and supportive. Everything runs so smoothly--it's truly a well-oiled machine. Even the team members behind the scenes who handle texts, scheduling, and rescheduling are responsive and kind, which I really appreciate as a busy mom. I honestly wish I could come here as an adult! More than anything, I love that they're not just providing a service--they're helping teach my kids lifelong habits around dental hygiene in such a positive way. However the three stars knocked off because the front desk is extremely rude. Right when you walk in, they ignore you and point to a kiosk to check in and don't make eye contact like they are avoiding you on purpose. Mind you I've only been here twice. And each visit was the same. They also NEVER answer their phone calls even if you leave a voice mail. Their main form of communication is text message. They reschedule through text and answer any questions through text. Also last time I checked out, one of the ladies at the front desk (couldn't catch her name) was talking to her coworker in front of me for like a good 3 minutes and it was completely unrelated to my visit. I felt like I was a burden burdening their conversation, and she asked me with the most annoyed tone if I was free a month out after they were done. Not "hi, I can help you right here" or "did you get everything you needed today?" Like I'm burdening you with your 3 minutes of conversation? The picture even says please DO NOT CALL. please tell me this a joke? What's the point of having a receptionist if I'm burdening them and they don't want to speak to customers? Text is NOT a professional form of communication.

On the way out you pay for parking with for the allotted time you were there. The grocery store and other little stores are on the first floor and a lot of clinics/dentist offices are on the second floor. Once you get to the second floor, there'll be someone at the main door asking you to check in and that really just states your name and how many people are with you and what office you're going to. There is a staircase, and there is an elevator to get to the second floor. The office is small but very clean but unfortunately in Mexico, what happens sometimes is that the running water stops working and you cannot use the restroom since there is no water to flush the toilet. The two girls at the front are really nice and are really inviting. Feel free to ask them any questions you have. Dr Yasmin introduced herself and she was very lovely and she is the person who did my cleaning and my teeth whitening. She was very lovely as well and she kept asking me if I was OK and was very attentive. So what happens first is that the doctor will check you out and make sure that the items you requested can actually happen that day and then someone comes and gives you a quote and if you would like to continue, you sign the quote and then the work is started. It was my very first time doing a teeth whitening, and while she was doing it, it did not hurt at all, but I did experience some teeth sensitivity around an hour later. The teeth whitening is four sessions of 15 minutes under some sort of lamp on your teeth. It is a small quaint clean office. I would definitely go back.
