This morning i received a text admonishing my wife for not keeping her appointment for Service on March 4th. That is the scheduled appointment my wife did arrive for on March 4th at 0800 only to have the Service Advisor turn her away because the system did not show the scheduled appointment. I was shocked to receive the new text which now acknowledges that we did have a scheduled Service Appointment. I have had two exchanges since with the New General Manager Sam Somarriba. Terrible Customer Service!! On 3/19 I had my 2017 Dodge Journey towed to Ourisman. I had the battery replaced 3 times in previous 18 months and my regular mechanic reported a .2 amp draw that they couldn't find. When it died the last time, I had it towed to the dealer. After a couple of days and the draw test, the dealer reported that the rear passenger door module needed to be replaced, that the car "thought" the back door was open when it wasn't. This didn't make a lot of sense to me, as I'd never seen the interior light on when the doors were closed, but it was the working theory at the time. I authorized the repair. Once the new module was replaced, I authorized a new battery as it was also needed. Once the repairs were done, I was still skeptical, and requested that they hang onto it and start it every couple of days to make sure there were no further issues. To her credit, the lady called me nearly every day & reported that the car started. On 5/15, I went into get my car and paid $1993. When the lady went to pull it around, guess what? It wouldn't start. After that, I received 3+ months of the runaround, where I spoke to both a shop foreman and a lead mechanic, where the nice lady started dodging my calls and emaila Finally, last week they reported that the door module they installed was bad. They said the puddle light is remaining on when the door is closed. They replaced the module under warranty, repeated the draw test, and have now assured me it's fine. After asking about the warranty, I went to pick it up today 8/22/2025. The warranty cited was absolutely not what was on my paperwork that they presented to me so I made the lady write it in and sign it. They had my car for 5 entire months, no compensation offered. read more

What is going on here? Do these people not want to make money? I inherited my mom's 20-year-old wheelchair accessible Dodge Grand Caravan last year, only to discover that the driver's seat belt is on the half - it doesn't always buckle. I would REALLY like it if the driver's seat belt worked ALL THE TIME, so I got online to search the Ourisman Dodge website to see if I could just buy a new seat belt. Ha! I even tried chatting with JessicaBot, but she's slow and stupid. She refused to help me make an appointment for service the next day, claiming that she needed 48 hours in advance. I jumped out a window and screamed at my boyfriend to take care of this issue as I plummeted into a pit of frustration... Okay, clearly I didn't do all that. I'm a wheelchair user. It's impossible for me to jump. Off topic, I do live in an apartment complex where my neighbor DID jump out the window. He's fine. Probably in jail though. Anyway... So the boyfriend got online and made his own appointment FOR THE NEXT DAY... He took the van to the dealership, and after explaining his needs to the salesman, was told they "weren't even sure they could source a part that old" and that the boyfriend had to leave the van there for THREE DAYS for a full diagnostic. THREE DAYS for a busted seat belt that might not exist. No offer for a loaner. No idea how the boyfriend was supposed to even get back home. When he decided to pass on the offer to suddenly give up our van for THREE DAYS, the salesman has the audacity to give the boyfriend his business card. Dude, if you were willing to make a sale, or get a new customer, maybe you should help them by getting on the computer and seeing if it's even possible to help, instead of stringing them along and trying to charge them for a useless diagnostic. That would have taken like ten minutes, tops, and left the potential customer with a better feeling about your service. I explained to them if the debris in cylinder Two was not cleaned out properly it would jump to cylinder Eight, due to something getting down there. I had a warranty on the work completed. Upon them having my car back in the shop for over Three months they come back with I Need A New Engine. Something they refuse to fix due to them not cleaning out cylinder Two properly and refusing to clean out cylinder Eight even though it should be covered under work they did. This place goes out of its way to EARN a 1 star review. Made an appointment, told the lady who answered the call what I needed. Only needed a front tag bracket put onto my vehicle so that I could put my new Maryland license plate on it. Seemed simple. When i got there, the front desk guy took a personal call when he asked me to show him what needed to be done when we were actively at my vehicle -- which is fine, life happens, but then he proceeded to blow me off, telling me to sit down and wait. Waited 3 hours for the mechanic to tell me they didn't have a front tag bracket. Like what in the world? Why couldn't they tell me that when I called 1.5 weeks before my appointment? This is my first time owning a Jeep or visiting this service department, and Thompson Jeep made it surprisingly painless. They offered online scheduling, were ready for me when I arrived, offered me discount oil changes and tire rotations for the duration of my lease at a fraction of what the dealership I leased from offered it, didn't up sell me, and finished early. The pretty basic waiting room seemed clean (and busy) but the Christmas tree was a nice touch. They offered to take me home free of charge when I was ready to call a Lyft. They didn't charge additional fees (shop, disposal, etc.) on top of my plan price, which I was half expecting and fixed my alignment under warranty, which I was expecting push back about. If anything, I'd recommend a more comfortable waiting area and courtesy wash and vac's--even my old KIA dealer offered these amenities and you could upgrade to a hand wash including windows, wheels, tire shine for $15. Vending machines aren't as good as free snacks and drinks like KIA offered, but they were reasonably priced. I like that they have sales, service, parts (upgrades galore!), and a body shop (maybe rentals too?) on site... I look forward to seeing you guys again in several thousand miles. Would not recommend this dealership to anyone. I have purchased several large ticket items (cars and homes) and this was by far the worst buying experience ever. We went to this location after seeing the vehicle I wanted on their website ( just a FYI, don't go because they have the car you want, any dealership can have the vehicle you want traded in from another dealership). Turns out I went with another vehicle option and they had the car brought in from a Delaware dealership. I came to the dealership with a pre approval from my credit union. After negotiating the price, I returned with a check from my Credit Union (not a personal check). Because of a dealership policy, they have to have "collateral" before you are allowed to take the car. Meaning even if you come with a certified check from your Credit Union they are still required to run your credit through their system. The reasoning is, if your bank certified check doesn't clear, they can finance the car through their approved bank. I did not want another hit on my credit since I had a check in hand, I opted to let the check clear their bank. Well after a few days I called to see if the check had cleared and was told no. I contacted my credit union and was told the check had cleared. After I called them back I was told by one person that the Manager had to check with Finance only to be told by another that the Manager had actually already left for the day. After that whole debacle comes the debacle of my tags. I was given paper tags for 45 days. After not hearing anything from them and tags expiring within two days I made contact. I was told that due to my car being a transfer from another dealership, they were having problems getting paperwork and that a duplicate of the paperwork had been ordered . Due to me traveling, they did agree to overnight me a another 30 day paper tag. Amazingly right after that, I was called the next day and told my tags arrived. With tags expiring and me leaving for vacation in two days I asked for tags to be sent overnight (I live 45 minutes away). I was told the overnight price would be $40. After all the delays with this business, the least you would think they would do is send me my tags. I was told I would have to call and make payment before tags would be sent. I called, made payment, and asked the individual taking payment "my tags will be here tomorrow correct"? She told me yes they would be there tomorrow. Needless to say that did not happen! So I paid for overnight delivery, still waiting on my tags ‍. I'm not going to say they lie but they try hard not to tell you what it actually is. read more

I have a new car still with warranty and they refused to honor the warranty and told me I'd have to pay 250 just to run a diagnostic plus's whatever else I have wrong. I asked if they would let me know what was and wasn't covered I was told no and that they were going to do the services first and just charge me after. That doesn't make any sense why would you force me to pay for services or hold my car without giving me the option to choose if I'm even able to pay???? I can't speak for the sales department but as far as services go OMG. only go to these guys if it's your last (I'm talking there are no guys standing in front of auto zone) resort. So a week and a half ago the pink piece in my shifter broke. So I found the $14.00 part to replace it at the dealership. I had it held and then I called the service department to get a price to have it installed. I talked to a guy named Jim who I found out was the assistant manager of services. He he said they can fix it and gave me a price of $180 for labor. I said ok and set up an appointment. While setting up an appointment he tried to push me to buy a WHOLE new shifter which was $180.00 in itself instead of just replacing a $14.00 part claiming that the part might break again. Now let me give you some background. The 2005 to 2007 dodges had a faulty pink plastic piece in the shifter that was prone to breaking anywhere at anytime. So when it breaks it prevents you from taking your car out of park (that's what happened to mine). So there was a recall on most cars but not all. Mine wasn't one of them. So on the recall they had made a much more thicker plastic piece that is a lot harder to break. I mean short of sawing into it it will last. Now back to Jim. I told him over the phone that I am not going to buy a new shifter just for a $14.00 piece and that also me buying another shifter it could also have that faulty pink plastic piece in it. His argument....."well it has a warranty for 2 years". Who the hell wants a piece of equipment not knowing when it could break because of a faulty piece that could disable your car at anytime just by simply putting it into park? What happens after the 2 years are up and it breaks again Jim? You going to try to sell me a whole another shifter again with the same bullshit line? So he dropped the sales pitch and schedules me for an appointment for 2 weeks later. So today was the day I go in there and I meek Jim. Everything seemed normal then I get called from the waiting room. It's Jim " I just got done talking to my mechanic and he doesn't feel comfortable with installing the replacement part cause something could break or the part itself could break" and immediately went back into trying to get me to buy a new shifter. It was as if he thought that if he get me there I would just cave and purchase the part. I then again explained how the part I had is the same part that is used to replace the recall part and that that is what I want put in because I have no way of knowing if the new shifter had the faulty piece in it. He then again gives me the 2 year warranty speech again and does not feel comfortable with replacing the faulty piece. A MOPAR mechanic does not feel comfortable charging a piece that MOPAR themselves put a recall on to have the piece changed? But felt real comfortable trying to sell me another shifter for way more money. After letting him know pretty much that I'm not a idiot and don't succumb to peer pressure I told him to give me the part I purchased and will be taking my car somewhere else. I drive my car to Jones Chrysler Dodge Jeep and Ram at 1510 Bel Air Road and told them the issue and gave them my part that I purchased. They said it's fine took my car in back I waited and it was done ALONG with them changing the recalled airbags and replacing a fog lamp bulb all in just a hour and a half. And was only charged $180.00 for labor of the shifter work. Shifter is now functioning. Jim is a service predator that tries his hardest to peer pressure people into buying unnecessary equipment without regard to a person's finances or situation. Pure scum. read more

Service Department This is not the first time I have gone here. The first time I came to this place I requested an oil change and for them to do any updates that were available to my 2015 Renegade. Being it was just an oil change I said I would wait at the dealership. It took them 3.5 hours to complete an oil change and updates. When I asked them why it took so long they said it was because their wifi was slow. Alright four months later I SCHEDULE an oil change three weeks in advance. I go to drop it off and they are checking people in that don't have appointments before me. No big deal. Four and a half hours later, I had to call the dealership to see when my cars Oil change was going to be done. Thirty minutes later I got a call from the receptionist saying my car was done they just forgot to call me. When I asked them why the OIL CHANGE took so long they said because they had people (walk ins) that were there before be this morning at a quarter to 0800. So when making an appointment with this dealership, obviously it means nothing because walk ins are prioritized ahead of you. I will NEVER take my car here again to get serviced. read more

Just last February I purchased a brand new dodge dart from this dealer and since then I have had nothing but problems. Granted I did buy a brand new model and it is expected to have a few bugs my dealer has notttttttttt worked with me to fix any of my issues! Within the first few months I noticed that the car constantly smells of antifreeze, and is leaking a red fluid! I take it to the dealer all my levels have been checked and are "fine" but there's less then two miles on my car from when I drop it off so how did they check to see if it was leaking at operating temp? But no big deal I kept driving my car until the winter and then in the first snow I noticed when my abs kicks on my dash blacks out. I take the car to the dealer, they can't figure out why and all winter this kept happening and started leaking again so I returned to the dealer with both of these issues again in January and was told again the same thing they reprogrammed my abs system and can't find a leak. Then told me that the car was driven 30+miles and they cannot recreate the issue. I get there to pick up my car and there is a greasy palm print and a few fine scratches on my front bumper!! And the car do not even have 1 MILE on it!!!!!!!!??? And blankly lied to my face! When I met with Joe Swietzer he shot down everythingggg I said to him!!! An Ron Jacobs lied to him saying I never left him voice mails or emails !!! Mind you my car is a fullllll synthetic 0w20 car and is changed every 4000 miles and by the dealer!! A 1500 miles ago I had it change and it's the nastiest brown!!! Not even 15000 miles on the car!!!!!! I am absolutely disgustedddddddd with this dealership! And I will never return !!!! My sales person was Kathy McKinney. I had been pre-approved for financing through Capital One. I saw this Lincoln MKX (used) with only 47k miles on it at Thompson. Originally, my plan was to just have a look at the SUV. My wife and I instantly fell in love with my truck. I'm not sure why my final interest rate was about 0.75 points higher than my rate offered by Capital One; I think it may have been a result of a few other dealers that I'd contacted and had run my credit for financing of another vehicle(s). Ultimately, I bought the truck and was financed through Capital One. Of course, I had to play a bit of Chess with Kathy (to be expected). They were encouraging me to purchase GAP insurance and an extended warranty, which of course, increased the monthly car note I'd been offered by Capital One. My truck had a Thompson multi-point inspection and came with a 6-month/6000k powertrain warranty. I didn't feel a need to purchase another. Although I initially declined the GAP, I ultimately bought the GAP insurance at a significantly reduced cost (nobody wants to have to pay the balance owed in a totaled vehicle after your regular insurance pays the "value"). The next day after I bought my truck, I heard some kind of noise coming from my truck. Turns out it was a rock stuck in my (brand new Michelin) tire. However, Kathy had scheduled an appointment to have the "noise" checked out, prior to my realization that it was a simple matter of a rock stuck. Her words were "we'll get this resolved". I really, really appreciate that level of commitment. In conclusion, I purchased an awesome luxury vehicle at Thompson. Service by Kathy (and the finance manager - forget his name) was great. They did understandably try to "upsell" me on the extras (it is a business after all). Very happy with my SUV, and I highly recommend them. A few days after purchasing the vehicle, I noticed a squeaking when I applied my brakes. I contacted Mr. Joe Lyons (Director of Operations), who forwarded my concern to Mr. Jim Umpleby (Service Manager). These gentlemen arranged for the Thompson shuttle van to take me to work and pick me up, while the service department replaced my brake pads for free. Awesome! Five stars!!! read more

I was in an accident and came to Thompson through Geico. The Geico rep, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, and Thompson were all very helpful. I was able to drop off my damaged vehicle and leave with a rental within ten minutes. In all, Thompason had my car for about a month to repair. I called often for updates and everyone I spoke to was very helpful. The car looks brand new, I would def recommend this business. My only complaint is that when I picked up my car and first turned it on, the battery was dead. They gave me a jump and I was fine to go, until I realized that all of my pre-set radio stations had been changed (all 12 of them!) so, no wonder my battery died! I'm pretty upset about this, and will contact them if i find that it needs to be replaced. read more

I talked to him up front about where I needed to be on pricing, where I thought my trade should value, I filled out a finance form was told that I qualified and that they could work it out. When I got there the price of under 16K went up to 21K. Dirty tricks, didn't respect my time, and when I asked for my truck keys to leave they refused three times and kept coming back to make me offers that I had no interest in. It's simple, post the price you are willing to sell if for online or not. When I asked them what the price posted on the internet was about they basically treated me like I was some kind of fool that didn't understand how their busieness operates. This dealership doesn't have your back. My car was broken into last night while in several days for warranty work. I caught the guy in action. He was stripping parts off of my car. They have no onsite or remote security. This morning I was told "too bad, so sad" by the service director and was told it should be covered by my insurance company. This was after the same car as mine had it's wheels and tires stolen from the same location recently. They said they couldn't pull my car inside but yet a wonderful local technician came at 11:30 PM to park it securely in the shop. Now my car needs a repaint and repair of several parts ripped from my interior and exterior and a window replacement. We had a great experience from initial phone call to driving off in our new grand cherokee! We worked with Edward! He was awesome! So knowledgeable and a super nice guy- not pushy. We told him what we wanted and he found it for us quick without making the "sale" his biggest focus. We had our 2 year old with us and everyone was so accommodating. They worked with our trade in and were able to work a deal that made us comfortable in the payment we wanted to be within. Mel in finance is super cool- he knows his stuff and they seriously aren't lying when they say they can get you out of there in an hour or less after saying yes. My previous car buying experiences have been sooooo not-enjoyable due to the length of the "process". After just a month into ownership of my new 2021 challenger, I found that my driveshaft, differential, and axle required repair. When I brought my car in for service, Scott Donaldson (service manager) voided my ENTIRE warranty (drivetrain, engine, and exhaust) just to avoid covering repairs. He voided the warranty on the grounds that I "modified my exhaust." Therefore, my brand new 2021 challenger has now been sitting at the dealership for a month, and nobody cares to rectify the situation. Can you conceptualize paying car rental fees for 30 days (and counting)? I have to drive my kids to school and go to work, but Scott does not care. We bought our current 2500 from Wayne, who no longer works there, and we love it!! We went back bc we want a bigger 5th wheel and we found a 3500 dually that we liked a lot. Found out the truck had been repainted and some other parts replaced but the car fax was clean, which means the owner didn't get the work done at Dodge. They didn't want to budge on the price and said they could sell it at auction for more than asking without all the BS....what? I was looking for a nice truck with low miles. My wife found one at Thomson. She talked to rich and he made it seem to good to be true. So we went and checked it out. He got alittle information from us and had it all ready to go when we drove up the next day. Wife joked with him about filling the tank he laughed. Said already cleaned and filled up. I drove the truck and was amazed by how great it was. I'll drive the 1 1/2 for my next vehicle. Love to work with salesman who dont force you to buy there vehicles. read more

I was in an automobile accident in early November, which did require extensive repairs to my vehicle. Although the body shop was initially very helpful, they estimated over a month for repairs. When the date that my vehicle was estimated to be complete passed, I began to worry because I was taking a trip and wouldn't be back for over a week. My estimated date of completion was 12/17, but the repair was not complete until 12/23, and only then at the last possible minute. Fast forward a few days when my father looks over my car and notices a trim piece missing. He notices another that it not attached well. I decide to call after the holidays to see about having the pieces replaced. In the meantime, another trim piece falls off while I'm driving. I call on 1/4 and speak to the gentleman who handled my repairs. Again, he sounds helpful and asks that I email pictures of the missing pieces. Several days later (and after a few additional phone calls) he gets back to me to tell me the pieces are ordered. And that's it. Haven't heard a thing from them for over a month. So I called today to ask to speak to the gentleman I've been dealing with since the beginning. He no longer works at the same location and sounded surprised that no one had contacted me. In general, I'm very disappointed with the service. My car was not put together properly, took forever, and is still missing trim pieces from the shoddy work done over two months ago. I fully plan to file a complains with the BBB and will never take my car there again. I will also contact Geico and tell them about these issues, as they were the company who referred me to their business. read more

Went seeing they had some of the lowest prices around. Talk with Rich he worked with me for hours to get me in the truck I wanted, with as many discounts, and at the best interest rate I've been quoted anywhere. It was still a car buying "experience", but I was pleased. read more

This is got to be the worst dealership I've ever worked with. I simply wanted a refund on my extended warranty from Mopar. The finance director Mel lied to me. He told me he filed all the paperwork for me to get a refund. After months of checking in waiting I finally went to the Mopar site and they said that no paperwork has been filed. I would not recommend this dealership to anyone I think they lie and I think they're under funded I think they're going to go out of business. read more

I don't know why I went here in the firsts place. I should have read the other reviews first. Ooops. I called for a quote on some very simple body work. I needed them to order a part and install it on my car to replace a damaged piece. I could have installed it myself in 5 minutes. It clicks in on one side and is attached with two screws on the other. They confirmed they had the part in stock and I made an appointment for a week later to have it installed. When I arrived, I waited about an hour. Then I was told that the part was actually at the warehouse and would take another 45 minutes. A hour and a half later they finally had the part. I was told 15 minutes to install. Another hour later they had not installed it. I said to just give me the part and I would install it. They then said no and installed it in about 2 minutes. Apparently they wanted to charge me for labor. And not 2 minutes worth. They also tried to charge me more than they quoted me for the part. I stuck my ground and eventually they corrected the invoice.... only after stating that I would simply contest the entire charge with my credit card and they would get it kicked back to them anyway. (Highly recommend AmEx, they go to bat for you) This is a really sorry dealership with extremely shady business practices. Avoid unless you enjoy sitting in dingy waiting rooms and having to confront and argue with people. read more

VERY DISAPPOINTED! Came to trade in my vehicle and purchase a Jeep. I am well aware that car salesmen get a multitude of customers that waste their time but I was very serious! Wanted to walk away with a new vehicle and felt very disrespected. Car salesman, Ben asked multiple times "So are you serious about this, are you gonna leave with this vehicle today if the numbers are correct". When the numbers didn't line up, had a sales manager come speak to us and he threw around a number that was more doable. Left and after thinking it though thought that maybe that was a reasonable monthly payment. Shortly after I called back to discuss possibly putting cash down and he said that the number the sales manager spoke on was a JOKE "to see if I was serious about the vehicle". I don't know about you but I wouldn't waste my afternoon in a car dealership if I wasn't. A BIG TURN OFF!!!! Won't get my business. read more

As a first time car buyer, I was taken advantage of, big time, at Thompson Chrysler Dodge Jeep of Baltimore. I drove an hour and a half to the location after speaking with the online sales manager about the specific car I wanted (Jeep Liberty) because the price was right. I was between two colors and was promised that both were on the lot in the exact model I wanted and available for me to look at before I made a decision/purchase (Black and Forest Black, which is dark green). When I got there, I was passed off to some Sales assistant, Matt Lepke, and learned that only Forest Black was actually on the lot. If I wanted Black I was going to have to upgrade and get a more expensive model with all kinds of extra options. I ended up deciding on black and tried to negotiate on price with them (since they basically "bait and switch"-ed me), which they were unwilling to do. This is just the beginning though. Trade in value and interest rate were also discussed over the phone and in person once I arrived, but the numbers in the paperwork did NOT match what we had discussed. We were at the dealership late because of the fiasco with the available colors and I was being rushed to finish everything up. You can't drive the car off the lot without getting insurance first, so I was doing that online while the salesperson, MATT LEPKE, summarized the details (including what my interest rate and trade in price would be) verbally to me and had me sign everything while dealing with my insurance on the computer. He seemed nice, so I trusted that that's what the paperwork reflected too. WRONG. They gave me only 2/3rds of the trade in value they told me they would give me and upped my interest rate by about 2%. I was furious and embarrassed when I found out, and called the manager and tried to get it straightened out and he flat out refused to take my calls after the first one where he rushed off the phone after realizing why I was calling. I know I could have easily avoided this with a little more street smarts, but I think this speaks volumes about the integrity of the employees and management of this dealership. I would strongly recommend staying away from Matt Lepke and this dealership. Buy Jeep, but buy elsewhere. read more
