We had many teachers leave during the year, there was limited opportunities for art and No music programs for middle school. I volunteered here for a 6th school dance, and witnessed the lack of disrespect and damages toward school property. The teachers allowed music to be streamed via laptop and it even included explicit lyrics. I spent most of the night chasing kids to stop them from breaking glow sticks to flock the neon gel on themselves or school property. Trying to leave the venue aka cafeteria to explore classrooms above. This school has great security to keep people, parents out but lacks insight on properly supporting discipline procedures within their own staffing. There is athletics in the form of basketball and soccer as well as cheerleading. Those departments are not could not offer a regular words and celebrations or recognition at the end of the season unless a parent rally's to create a board. Or privately funded by parents. In middle school the children were instructed to read from an online program that was limited in content. No actual books were encouraged. And that may be teacher discretion. Many parents aren't as involved here since there is a monopoly of the same parents signing up for things. Many working parents do not get a fair opportunity to volunteer, unless planned months in advance or there is some consideration toward voting for times to release sign ups hour. A lot of the happy reviews reflect elementary experiences. Since those kids aren't as much of a concern and have years for Waterset charter to fix or mold those curriculums.

Learn and Grow has been such a blessing to our family. From day one, the staff at Learn and Grow have treated my daughter like family. You can genuinely feel how much they love and care for the children. My daughter wants to be there, which says everything. She attended VPK at Learn and Grow and was well-prepared and confident going into kindergarten, starting right on level. Now that she attends Buckhorn Elementary, I love knowing she has a fun, nurturing place to go after school instead of being stuck in a cafeteria. It gives her something to look forward to every day. Update: This has continued to be a very unfortunate situation completely mishandled by the staff. They have now hidden experiences shared by community members including parents. Recently my child was subjected to racially insensitive comments. When this was bought to the attention of administrators it was treated as a matter of court law rather than Christian decency, kindness, and understanding. Instead my child's experience was reduced to hearsay and I was called aggressive while advocating for my daughter. The lack of accountability and knowledge on how to handle and identity this behavior from leadership is unfortunate They have kept almost all recent positive ones including from current and/ or former employees of the center. We had some verbal sparring over the phone; and after I made SEVERAL reports to both the health department AND Hillsborough county, she told me to leave. I had already moved my daughter, so. If you research (which I wish I had done before) there have actually been a ton of complaints filed here over the years. It's obvious the owners are only in it for the money. They don't do a lot of projects with the kids, the food is crap, and everything is incredibly old and dirty. Any time you bring up problems, you get a ton of attitude. One time, I caught a staff member spraying bleach water next to my kid, and I asked her to stop and I got yelled at for it? So I brought it up to the owner and she said it wasn't bleach. It was labeled bleach water and I know what bleach smells like! I was told that my daughter had to wear shorts under her dresses or skirts because "the little boys in the class are curious" where TF are the teachers if the little boys have time to do that? My daughter shouldn't have to change what she wears because the teachers aren't doing their jobs. In addition, I've walked in several times and the kids were by themselves and the teacher was nowhere in sight! Stay away from this place; I wish I had never subjected my daughter to it. The staff is tenured, loving, and really know how to engage the kids and genuinely care about them. Any interactions with the administration team have been very professional and pleasant. I know my daughter will be very prepared for Kindergarten after VPK! She is not even in VPK yet and knows all of her letters, sounds, numbers, is writing her name and short words, and most importantly seems like she loves to learn.

The curriculum seemed okay, however they frequently did something different than planned. Cons, required uniforms with their logo on it, so we had to buy it from them. No food included, must pack snacks and lunch. The playground area seemed nice however the largest structure had rust on some areas that did not seem safe at all. When I toured I was told the tv was very rarely used, however more often than not, the children were watching tv or a teachers phone/tablet. Or I would hear from my child how they did this. The payments are monthly with a high annual fee. Plus additional costs for special activities. They are closed for two weeks during the year (around July 4 and December Holidays) which you do not get to not pay for. This may be a good fit for others, it just was not for us.
