I strongly recommend that you do not use this attorney. We always paid him on time, but he consistently failed to do his job. He filed paperwork incorrectly two different times, and both mistakes seriously hurt our case. He also failed to tell us about a scheduled mediation, which caused the judge to become very upset. There was even a court date where he did not show up at all because he went on vacation. He is often unprepared, disorganized, and does not seem to know the details of the case. Multiple judges have expressed frustration with him in court. After hearings, he does not explain what happened or what the next steps are. He usually rushes away and walks past you without saying anything. He may appear cheaper at first, but the work you need will not be done correctly. You will end up spending more money on a new attorney. Please save yourself the stress because you cannot rely on him. read more

If you're looking for representation stay far away from this Thompson law guy, he is a joke and gives false legal advice. This man has the nerve to tell me that I can't fight false claims made against me that I have to just deal with it. He demeanor was less than serious almost as if he was a scammer. I told him I absolutely can fight false claims against me and I will because there's a law called defamation of character and slander for a reason. If people can go to prison for 10 years and be released because their innocent was proven then I can definitely fight it. After I left his office less than 2 hours later I found an attorney that said they can definitely represent me and I now have representation after Mr Thompson said no one would represent me. Lutie Thompson is the worse lawyer. I paid him $3000. He didn't show up to our first court hearing. He had George Horrigan show up in his place (I later fired Thompson and hired Horrigan. He was amazing!). At our 2nd court hearing, my daughter's father got more time that should have never been given and when I asked Thompson to speak up he said "Just calm down it's only 1 extra visit it's no big deal." When in fact it was a very big deal because my daughter was being put in dangerous situations during those visitations. We walked out of the court room and I told him I would no longer be using him and hired Mr. Horrigan the next day. I would never recommend Thompson and I actually warn others against him. The paralegal sends in incorrect information to the court when she says everything is true to her knowledge when she puts your mother's death date wrong and attaches a copy of the death certificate and cause your name is Ryann she calls you a son in paper work also sent to the court. Then he tells your sister not to pay property taxes while going through probate what kind of lawyer does that? Misses court dates and will not pull over to get good reception. I hired this attorney after 2 years spent in custody/visitation court without any legal assistance. He went in to the court room with me twice. He refused to meet with me beforehand. He made statements like, "oh, he was good enough to have kids with but now he's not good enough to be in the kids lives?" And he insisted I still love the man who I had fled from because of domestic violence. He acted like bruises on a 2 year old's butt from being spanked too hard was nothing to even worry about. His office called me 6pm the night before court and told me I didn't have to appear to a court hearing I was required to be present at, I appeared anyways with my financial documents in hand. The attorney looked at my documents and said, "that's not what we're here for, go wait in the hallway." He robbed me of my ability to be heard by the judge costing me an additional $700 that he and his staff insisted the Judge would have charged me regardless of whether she heard my case or not. It was a hearing for a fee waiver that I had previously been issued. At the time of the hearing I made far less than I made when I was issued the fee waiver but the Judge never got to see that. On another occasion they contacted me the day before trial telling me the other party is going to continue the case, I said no they're not, they're ready to move forward. I called the other party and he confirmed neither him or his attorney wanted to continue. It was my attorney who was continuing because after half a year he still hadn't even looked at my case so he wasn't ready for it. I'm not sure why they had to lie to me, why they couldn't have just said they weren't ready. My ex presented some photos of my children accusing me of abuse. My attorney didn't even try to defend me, just told me to be quiet making me look guilty, he wouldn't even let me see the photos that were being presented so I could defend myself. I saw one photo and was able to explain it was a shadow in a black and white photo and there was no injury in the photo. I called their office multiple occasions looking for legal advice. I was never given legal advice, just yelled at by his staff who treated me worse than the man I'm in a custody battle with, extremely immature, clearly emotionally bothered and unable to separate her personal feelings from business. I hired this attorney hoping to get legal advice and help with a trial. I didn't get any of that. They basically did nothing for me but rob me of $3500 to yell at me on the phone, refuse to give me legal advice, treat me like my case didn't matter, make me appear guilty in court when I wasn't, and make my custody battle twice as stressful as it already was. They literally kept cancelling my appointments to meet with my attorney, even pushing my appointments to meet with the attorney to dates AFTER my court dates. The court date had been set several months in advance. So a second date was set - still he had never spoken to the person seeking the divorce. He came into my place of work, was asked several times to put his mask back on but when we walked away, he took it off again. When I explained to him that he would be asked to leave if he did not put his mask back on he told me he didn't care what I had to say, I was just the IT guy and why was I being such a jerk. At that point, I asled him to leave. He stood up, ripped his mask off, stormed out of the building and sat outside. 5 minutes later he came back in. My opponent had said some very disturbing things to say about our case but Thompson reminded me of a protective bull dog and shut them down fast and he stood up for me. He got me everything I was asking for so my son is safe. My opponent kept pressuring me and losing his temper with me in order to get me to bend to what he wanted. That's when Thompson stepped in and my opponent backed down quickly. Thompson was aggressive and extremely helpful! I feel like my son still gets time with his father and my son will be protected while with him. I couldn't thank Thompson enough for how he helped me. I have full custody thanks to Mr. Thompson's help. He gave me really good advice, always responded quickly when my sons father was acting up and fought hard in court. Since gaining this custody my sons behavior has improved dramatically. If you're dealing with an abusive parent I highly recommend talking parents (keep contact to a minimum- yes, no, very short replies), family therapy (the abuser probs won't show up but you can show you're trying to improve the situation and it would all around benefit your child) and involved minors council (another huge help). It didn't take long for the truth to come out on where the abuse was coming from. My wife paid $1000 dollars to file divorce but changed her mind later and tried to get half of the money back but the secretary told a different story unlike the paralegal who said we could get half back if she changes her mind later of filing a divorce. Later thompson looked out the door to see it was us standing in his lobby and closed the door and I said they should have told her that in the first place no refunds if she changed her mind. 2 years of absolute horrible experiences with this "lawyer". Absolute ZERO communication skills whatsoever. Mr. Thompson and his staff continuously dodge phone calls/emails/and texts. Have called the office multiple times to get either a voice-mail or secretary who doesn't understand the difference between court documents and will send you the wrong thing if you can even get them to do that. Multiple times I have shown up to court appearances and Mr. Thompson will either be grossly late (1-2 HOURS) or will simply not show up at all and give you one of his many excuses on why he didn't show up. Mr. Thompson seems wildly under prepared for court hearings and the presenting of evidence if he happens to show up to your hearing. $4000 I paid this attorney and all he and is office is good for is filing paperwork with the courts. When you call him or his staff out on their incompetentance then get extremely rude and tell you that "these things happen" and that you are being ridiculous and over reacting. I have waited literal MONTHS for them to send me a copy of my updated court order and have still yet to recieve anything but radio silence or poor excuses/attitude.
