Thompson Lexus is a first class operation from sales to service. I had a 5 star experience buying my NX F sport and look forward to getting back in the Lexus family. I had a Lexus a few cars ago and absolutely love their service department, it is top notch. Unfortunately in the two months since I purchased my car I have become the Duke of their service department. I purchased my auto at night , it was a certified 2 year old auto so I wasn't too thorough examining the car. The next day I was examining the NX in the daylight and noticed some serious damage to the front of the vehicle. Someone hit a curb and the front spoiler was severely damaged as well as the front air dam. They replaced the parts but it took 3 visits, the first time they thought they could touch it up , then the second time they fixed one of two damaged pieces. The third time was a charm and they have a happy customer. I can't imagine that they were aware of this damage as it was definitely over $1,000 to fix and nobody would buy a certified vehicle with that amount of damage. I am thinking a lot attendant or salesmen hit a curb and didn't report it. It worked out for me and I was impressed with service department. 10-7-19 went from 4 stars to 3 and the three is gracious. Rear hatch motor stopped working, took it in for inspection and asked to fix hatch. Hatch wasn't fixed , worked a few times, then didn't. Had to bring it back to fix , they didn't replace rear fender plastic fastener... had to wait 4 weeks for hatch part , brought it back they replaced the fender fastener. Last week discovered it had fallen out and fender wasn't secured. Three visits to fix the hatch, three visits to fix a simple fastener.... starting to wonder what's going on? 8-24-23 back to 5 stars... they have me a strong trade in my preowned Lexus . Had pre-paid maintenance on my 2023 vehicle. I moved out of the area, where no Lexus dealers existed so I requested a refund on the unused portion of my pre-payment. Business office did nothing meaningful to facilitate the refund, except to fill out a form, now after more than 2 months. Nothing proactive happening. Lexus says the refund was lost in the mail, which they say they allow 30 days to deliver. Never in my life has it taken 30 days to deliver mail, and I never had mail lost in my experience. Why do they allow 30 days for delivery? The refund still has not happened. Waiting for a response from the business office as we speak. Unacceptable. Follow-up: the culprit was Toyota/Lexus Financial, not the dealership. Still unresolved after directly contacting them. read more

Went to the lot on a Saturday and spent 20 or so minutes walking around with no one coming to help so we headed inside and was met by Brian (sales associate) who directed me to an older car. Told him I wasn't interested that I wanted to see an RX as I've always driven an ES. Showed me a cheap older RX. Told him I wasn't interested I wanted to see the specific 2022 ES and walked him to the car. He didn't offer to get the keys. Instead we looked through the window and I commented to my husband that I really liked the car. Brian then directed us to an overflow lot in the far back that had some older cars they had just taken in. I told him I wasn't interested and he said let him know if we needed anything else and left. Contacted the sales manager later about how I came to buy a car but wasn't given the option and he promised to follow up after investigating to which I have heard nothing. I may not look like I should drive a Lexus or can afford to drive one but they don't know my finances and no one should be treated like they shouldn't be on a lot! Third service and again Doylestown Lexus is too incompetent to complete routine service. They offer free service to repair the relationship but then can't even do that right. Save your self the hassle go to any other Lexus dealer Jason the service manager is useless. Update: Mike the service manager called to speak about my experience was extremely unprofessional and even disconnected our call because he was finished with the conversation. I will raise my issues with corporate at this point. I'm not sure who hired Mike but he's not worth his pay if he is hanging up on customers for no reason. We have purchased 5 Lexus's all from Lehigh valley and will not return to Doylestown. Purchase was great service is awful go somewhere else it took 4 times of scheduling a simple oil change to actually get the service half complete they advertise to offer complementary detailing and cleaning of the car that didn't actually happen they drove the car through the nearest car wash and called it a day. Very underwhelmed with Lexus of Doylestown and will be returning the Lexus of Lehigh in the future. You purchase a 70,000 suv from them you would expect better service avoid this Lexus and go else where. read more

I'm updating this review. I finally received my car back almost two months past the estimated time. During this time no one reached out to me to give me updates. I had to call every week to see what was going on. I did not even know my hood was back ordered until it was nearly finished. I had came to an understanding with the service manager, he suggested that Lexus will likely reimburse me for the rentals that I had to pay for out of pocket. It's been a month since I submitted my first receipt. Still nothing, mind you I paid $3200 in rental costs in addition to my monthly payment and insurance costs (while being unable to use the car) in just in the period that the hood was on back order. I had been working with Ryan McKinnon (Amazing Salesperson, and very honest) The purchasing process was great very simple, they explained everything to me and they did a great job on that end. However, right as I started up the car immediately had a TPMS sensor that had died. (they had agreed to replace it for free but not off to a great start.) BUT I called Ryan, they fixed it right away. They even offered a free Shuttle while I was without my car. (Free loaner as well, but I'm only 20). Overall, I got a great, reliable little car to get me around. Called to look at car and I admit it was sort of late near closing. Told me to come in. Went straight there and test drove the car. I was told we couldn't complete the paper work because of something the had to do with the title on our trade in. I left a deposit and made appointment to come in at 5:15pm to complete paperwork and finalize sale. Fast forward to the next day (today) we arrive at 5:00pm. The sales person was informed that we had to be somewhere and would need to be done by 6:00pm (rewind to yesterday we were told the process wouldn't be more than 45 minutes, we already have a auto draft from our credit union so don't need any financing). Now Fast word back to today at about 5:15pm we were told that the appointment before us was late but they took them back while we were waiting and on time! Now we are told they don't know how long the people who were late for their appointment will be in the finance office and we won't be seen until about 5:45pm-5:50pm! We were offered to come back tomorrow! Wow Wow Wow. Up until this the sales experience with Colin was pretty decent! So now I am waiting outside writing this review. I just don't understand the customer service here! When you have someone on time (15 minutes early for their appointment) and then you have someone who is late for their appointment why would you take the people who are late and make the people who are in time wait! I usually don't write reviews unless I'm extremely satisfied or extremely dissatisfied! I guess you can guess which one. By the way it's 6:10pm still waiting and not one time did a manger come and apologize or even acknowledge us waiting! Colin the sales person did apologize. Giving a rating of 1 as 0 is not an option!! Beware of business with Thompson Lexus in Doylestown. I leased a car from them recently and the price they offered me and what actually ended up on my contract was very different. John was my sales person and I feel I was tricked into this deal. I am ending up paying 3600$ more than I agreed for. Please check the numbers on your contract 10 times. Never close a deal later in the evening when you will BE rushed into signing papers. Never TRUST this sales person or the dealer!! I have always leased my cars in the past and never had a problem and I know exactly how much I Wanted to pay! My fault I signed the contract without checking if the numbers were exactly what I was offered!! Their answer was you signed the contract so nothing can be done!!! My online research shows that changing numbers on a car lease is one of top 5 scams dealers use to trick customers. If you point out the mistake, which is inevitably in their favor, they say sorry. If you don't pick it up before signing, too bad for you! Unfortunately, even reputed dealers seem to be using this trick to scam people. For service and maintenance, Thompson Lexus in Doylestown has a very user-friendly process. You can book your appointment online on their website. When you drop off your car you briefly meet with a representative to describe your needs and expectations. You get a nice new Lexus loaner car and go on your merry way while they do the work. The communicate via texts and phone calls - probably however you want it - and they update you on the process and ask for approvals. When the work is done, you can pay your bill using your smartphone. Pick-up is just as easy. Everyone is friendly. I didn't detect any upselling or "attitude." I've dealt with other Lexus dealers in NJ and PA - frankly, the quality isn't what it used to be. Not the case with Thompson. OK - so my loaner was a 2018 ES and a little too complicated for me. Call me old-fashioned. In the past, loaners came with satellite radio. I guess those days are over - so bring a CD or cable to play music through your smartphone or iPod. The "terrestrial" radio in the Philadelphia area is far superior to that of the NYC area - but it's still lame. When the work is done, don't forget to top up the gas tank on your loaner. There are plenty of gas stations nearby. I was happy to get my car back with all maintenance (and free Lexus recall work) done. As I have come to expect from Lexus, the car was washed and vacuumed. Thompson in Doylestown will be my dealership of choice in the future even though there are several Lexus dealerships A LOT closer to my home in NJ. read more

I recently was purchasing a used Lexus hybrid private sale. Thompson of Doylestown was the closest dealer. I could not agree to buy the car without first having a thorough check from the dealer. Specifically the inverter and hybrid batteries working status were important to me. The seller agreed to take the car to the dealer to have it checked before purchase. I called the dealer 2 separate occasions and believe I spoke with Ronnie in the service dept. I explained what I was looking to have done. He first said it was a safety inspection and that cost was $75. My boyfriend who has worked for car dealers told to call back and say that mechanically I wanted the car thoroughly inspected. I even said I want the car thoroughly checked as you would a car that's being traded in and going to be put up for sale on your lot... not sure how much clearer I could have been. I wasn't quite confident the person understood what I was asking both times I called. My boyfriend also called to make sure what I was asking for would be done and it would cost $75. He was told yes it would have a through mechanical inspection including the hybrid battery and inverter and it would cost $75. The seller also called and spoke with the service dept about making an appointment and was told the same thing it was $75. When the seller got to the dealer he was told that a service including all the things being asked for that costs $75 did not exist. It was all over the place and being quoted $68 and $140 etc... To make matters more complicated, the day after I purchased the car some water staining was becoming visible where the frame meets the dashboard. My boyfriend lifted the car matt and saw staples in the carpet and it appeared as if the carpet had been lifted. My boyfriend contacted the seller and asked him about this and was told that was from a water issue from the sunroof but it had been resolved.. Now to back track a bit.. my boyfriend and I had asked about a musty smell the first day we looked at the car. It was very faint maybe smelled like stale cigars to me?? The seller told us the car had just been sitting for a while.. With further research it appears Lexus cars have had many issues with taking on water from inadequate seals and clogging sunroofs. If the water makes its way to electrical components it can be disastrous including causing hybrid battery failure. Not to mention mold growth which is expensive to remedy and a health hazard. Since then I have saw even more water staining becoming more prevalent in humid wet weather all over the headliner, an expert car detailer has checked the car and found extensive mold. He said he knew immediately what that musty smell was. I'm disappointed and expected more from a luxury car dealer service dept. One: you should know what services you offer, what those services include and what the cost is for those services... Two: it would have been nice if the Lexus technician(s) who checked the car paid enough attention to detail to notice the staples in the carpet under the matt and the smell.. read more

I bought a used VW jetta that had low mileage and should have been a good car, but turned out to be a complete lemon and it was clear they did little to vet the car, the problems have been varied and point to it having been flooded. Very unprofessional. Wayne emailed me a sticker of a new car and quoted me a price on the same email, $7,800 below MSRP. Compared to other dealerships his price was $1500 lower, thus I called him several times to confirm that he was not playing any games or making any mistakes. He assured me several times that he has been doing this for over 13 years and that it is not a mistake. After giving him my credit card information over the phone to hold the car, sending over my drivers license, insurance information, and after I added the car to my insurance he calls me back to tell me that there was a "miscommunication". I have a 2016 CT200 Hybrid. 5,000 mile service was free (standard) 10,000 mile service was free (standard) 15,000 mile service was $209.60 20,000 mile service was $321.74 25,000 mile service was $115.54 See a trend. And then here's where it really went wrong. During the 25,000 mile service, they told me I needed four new tires! I'd describe my driving style as very normal. I mean I drive a hybrid? Enough said. The service rep told me Lexus uses a "soft tire." I also learned that the 30,000 mile service was roughly $600! That's not the end. After reading some online sites, many suggested I take the car to Toyota since, well Toyota makes Lexus. Cost at Toyota for the 30,000 mile service (the service agent said it was the same as Lexus minus a loaner car) was $245 and they happened to rate my tires 3 on the scale out of 5 meaning my tires were more than good! I said the Lexus service agent told me I needed new tires and the Toyota service agent just shook his head -- not in a positive way. My takeaway is that they basically make every "recommended" change during your visits to their service department whether you need them or not. $1,245 in service for a brand new car -- and that didn't include the new tires which would taken me over $2,000! This is my second Lexus and my experience with the other Lexus dealership was nothing like this one. My BMW dealer doesn't operate this way. My Honda dealer doesn't operate this way. Nope. I won't be going back for service, but if you plan on going, ask them if you really need a new battery for your key every 15,000 miles. I don't mind paying for premium service, but was it really worth lying to someone to sell some tires and losing them as a customer forever? read more

The service advisors always call to keep me updated with the status of my car and are not pushy on encouraging me to purchase any additional services. Let's be honest, getting a new car can be a hassle. From pushy salespersons to hours of waiting on paperwork and service explanations, whenever it's time to get a new car it feels like you have to dedicate a full weekend to the process. With the crew at Thompson Lexus, this was so far from the truth. We scheduled an appointment, went to drive the vehicle, and left with a true no obligation quote to think about. I didn't get calls every half hour about where we were with the decision and tons of pressure to buy. In the end, we leased a new IS 300, felt completely comfortable with the deal, and couldn't be happier with the vehicle. We made an appointment to pick it up, and were in and out within an hour; if you've ever bought a car, you know this is a great feat ;). I wish I could give more stars. This is a review for sales, and for service. Sales - 5 Stars Peter C. was a wonderful sales man to work with. He was no pressure, the test drive went well, showed me what all the fancy buttons did, the navigation system, and of course pointed out all the cup holders (haha) He recognized I was nervous as I was there by myself - when he started going over all the options and packages and extended warranty this and that I did get a bit overwhelmed so I asked if I could come back the next day with my bf to advise me....Peter was more than accommodating and didn't pressure me like I've had some salesmen do in the past. I've had comments such as "You're a big girl, you can make decisions by yourself!" from other dealerships - so I was very happy that Peter respected me with my request. I came back the next day, had the bf give it the once over and a quick test drive and he gave it the stamp of approval. I got down to business with the financial department who again went over the extended warranty options - with my bf listening to see if it was worth it, I went for it and happy that I did. The financial woman I worked with was a very sweet and bought us over some freshly baked cookies since we had been there through dinner time (probably could hear our stomachs growling!) I was very happy with my experience with sales - that was def 5 stars. The waiting area is very comfortable, complimentary wifi and light refreshments (coffee, water, cookies) SERVICE ISSUES - 1 Star!!!!!!!!!!! Why I had to knock down to 1 stars, was because I had a problem with the brakes only 2 days later. Thompson fell short on a SAFETY issue - directly putting MY safety, and the public's safety at risk! My brakes started grinding terribly and choppy stopping, not something that should happen! When I called service, the (gentle)man that I spoke to was SO condescending, spoke to me as if I didn't even know that the sky was blue. He told me it was normal and just brake dust, I should continue driving the car and it would work itself out - how can he diagnose something over the phone without seeing the car? I told him this was not normal new brake-in wear, this was something serious, the car was NOT acting properly and it was a hazard to drive. I requested they flat bed me a loaner and take my car back to be assessed. This was a complimentary service that was touted to me during my purchasing process. He refused at first, and told me to drive it back. I could NOT believe it. I thought Thompson had a good reputation, a care for their customers safety? Guess I was wrong. I told him I was not comfortable driving the car in its current state, and that I felt it was unsafe. So I hung up and thought about calling and paying out of pocket for a tow. My bf arrived home, I was crying at this point and recounted what had happen and he took the car for a spin around the block. He confirmed it was NOT right, a safety issue and the car was not safe to drive. So he called back and had it out with the service manager. My bf knows a thing or two about cars, and after the service manager asking him basically "what do you know about cars" - my bf told him exactly what he knows about cars and who he works for and only then did they relent to send a loaner out to me and take my car back to the dealership. It was 10:00pm at night by the time the loaner got to me. If only the service manager heeded me in the first place when I called around 5pm would this not have been a debacle and this would have stayed a 5 star review. In the end, part of the the brake mechanism became unseeded and they needed to repair it. Turns out it was UNSAFE to drive! I was never offered an apology when I picked up my car after repair. It still pains me to bring my car back there for service. I don't know if I'll use Thompson for my next Lexus after what happen....only time will tell. read more

I've used them twice now, and have been very impressed. The first time we had a key fob programmed that I bought on Ebay for a used 2015 Lexus RX350 that only came with one fob. They cheerfully carried out the task for a very reasonable price, and even offered a free car wash. Next, I called them about a push pin for the plastic engine cover that was broken. Without a doubt the worst car buying experience I have ever had. I did love the vehicle but will purchase it elsewhere. When the salesman offered me 60% of the KBB trade-in value for my car, I knew I lost 2 hours of my life I will never get back. When I offered to pull up the KBB trade-in value on my phone, the salesman claimed he had never heard of KBB!! Seriously?? Nothing like completely yanking my chain!!! I work 60 hours a week in 2 different jobs. I have 2 children, one who has autism. Called for road side assistance when new GS350 broke down and was told I'd be better off calling AAA if I had it. Overall, not a bad dealership, but not a good one either. I've been waiting for them to get back to me for a week and a half now, despite one visit to the dealership and two emails. The service department personal are nice however every time I schedule an appointment I make it for 8am. I have NEVER gotten my car back before 5pm. Currently it is in for an oil and filter, clearly it does not take 9 - 10 hours! Very disappointing. Then they always find some thing wrong with my car. Last time it was tires and I said no thank you. This time it is brakes. I just paid $600 for my last service appointment which was 5,000 miles ago and now I need brakes but no mention of the tires I never replaced. This is last time I will be taking my car to them! I feel local shops are more reliable! read more

My Family had decided to purchase a top-of-the-line Hybrid vehicle from this dealer. We arrived at the showroom with great anticipation in acquiring this newly re-designed machine. During the closing of the deal an event manifested which has prompted this specific appraisal: 1) Walking with the Salesperson towards the agreed trade-in vehicle, I stated with a clear, neutral and discernible tone of voice that I would need the license plate for transfer to the next designated vehicle. I was aghast when this Salesperson simply ripped the vehicle identification plate from my car without even attempting to get one of the parking lot attendants to help with this simple task. Despite the obvious misinterpretation of my words, I walked back to the showroom with this Salesperson without any form of verbal protest, only reiterating my former statement without reacting to his originating action. 2) I took a seat next to one of my Family members at the first desk to the left of the main showroom door. Sitting there in a somewhat bewildered state as this Salesperson filled out the necessary paperwork, I reflected on the episode that had just occurred in the lot. After the Sales Representative finished the paperwork to the allotted stage and looked up at me, I asked for an explanation for his actions, stating a third time that I obviously needed the plate. In response to this, he picked the mangled plate off the window sill (And right in front of my family member) proceeded to throw it on the showroom floor and stomped on it several times with his right foot! He then handed it to me with an aggressive countenance and walked away. This time, two of us were in shock... 3) After the vehicle was purchased, I had later contacted the dealer in regards to the above mentioned incident with no real resolution. The employee in question had no ability to reflect on his own behavior (And its impact) or offer any explanation whatsoever for his action. My earnest hope is that another person does not endure this type of treatment at this showroom. The arrogance exhibited by the staff at Thompson Lexus in Doylestown is self-evident. This dealership needs to learn how to be professional in regards to customer service and appreciation. read more
