I had an appointment for routine ToyotaCare service, state inspection, and checking a leaky tire. I chose to wait and when I checked in I was told it would be about an hour and a half. At about that time, I got a call saying everything looked ok, but trying to upsell several flushes (brake, transmission, etc.). I declined the additional service. A half-hour later, the car was still not ready when I checked and was told several excuses - they only had three technicians, some assistance may have required additional repairs, etc. but never once apologizing for their running over and ruining my schedule. So I talked with the service manager and he did apologize and said the car was ready, did I still want the wash and vacuum? I said I did and then it took an additional half hour to get the car! They missed the estimated wait time by 100%. Their customer service does not value their customer's time. read more

More Ripoff and bullshit. Seems to be a Toyota standard. They stated the following on the phone and stated none were negotiable. $499 for "Documentation and $1,390 for an appearance package of pinstriping and door guards for a $8-11k used cars. The $1,390 is exactly the same as the Toyota dealer. I didnt bother to stay on the phone to ask if that included DMV registration. Meanwhile I again note a PA dealer will do a 60 day temp license for $190 on an $11k car and an NJ dealer will do a NJ transfer for $65 of I trade in and a new NJ registration and plates for $120 if I dont. Service Department I scheduled my appointment online and requested all of the services for my daughter's car. Mile service plus oil change. My daughter dropped off car early and they said they would get it done early. I thought great. All they asked was if we wanted the car washed and vacuumed. They called me with all of extra things I could have done. Then they call back, the car is done. Sounds great right? They send my bill and payment option to my phone. I go to pay, so my daughter can just get the car with her brother. Here the invoice has no descriptions for service. So I call. After being on hold for 20 minutes, they tell me they do not think the oil was changed. The oil change was even in the appointment reminder sent by their system to upload to my calendar. Then they try to tell me, my daughter declined the oil change when she dropped off car. Both her and my husband said that is not true, they only asked about the car wash. Well now my daughter has plans, work and practice and no car, because all the techs went home and there is no one there to do the service I requested in the 1st place. We live too far to bring the car back another day. This is not the first time it has happened. I have even dropped a car off the evening before and the 1st thing written was INSPECTION and guess what, they did everything but and I did not realize until I got home, which is why I checked this time. If you create a service order through their system, there is NO EXCUSE for not getting the services you requested. They were more concerned about upselling me other services, than doing what the car was there for in the first place. Their service department has a lot to learn, maybe their collision center should teach them how to handle a service order. read more

I'm giving two stars because I have had positive experiences there, but this last visit could hav cost me and my grandson our lives! Went in for simple replacement of rear brake pads only , didn't need anything else done, rotors were fine. (All their words not mine). Drove off with new rear brakes. I started to hear on occasion, a bumping like something was loose in the back of my car thumping when I went over little bumps Well 10 days later, with my grandson in the car, I go to stop and my brake pedal goes to the floor, no resistance, and I feel like I don't have brakes! Pull over, wait for daughter to get grandson, wait for tow truck Turns out caliper FELL OFF left rear ( 10 day old brakes) Kinda feel that putting on brake pads for a mechanic is from auto repair class 101 . It's also a Safety issue! Thompson service man said really no worry, I had three other brakes! Well I don't know if that still applies since caliper dragged on road for a bit and the piston popped out and the brake fluid ran out! Bottomline? Not the best car buying experience. I was in the market for a 2015 Toyota Tundra 1794 edition. Mind you this is a $50K+ vehicle so not cheap. Called up multiple dealers, received some bad service from 2 of the initial contacts. Sales guy (Mike Villari) here said he would honor the Truecar estimate I had and gave his word on excellent service and seamless transaction. Great right? Wrong! So I go there with my boss (vehicle was company lease). Went over all the options and the spec sheet which the salesman said is exactly what we would get in the vehicle we were going to lease and went through the credit process and made a deposit. At one point, the salesman discreetly throws away the original spec sheet and has a new spec sheet with less options for the same price (the good old bait and switch). So then, my boss was pissed off and wanted to cancel the whole thing. This is when the sales manager (Steve Tagye) got involved and to make it up to us, he said he would honor the original spec PLUS add in an upgraded navigation system. So, we mulled about it and decided to do it despite the trickery we encountered. My boss also wanted a hardcover truck bed cover for the vehicle so Mike quoted us $1100 (although not written) and GUARANTEED us that it would be ready for installation come the 1K mile service. Fast forward a month, and we come in for the service and lo and behold the bed cover is not there. Mike visited me in the waiting room and told me that he'll knock off $100 for the cover and ENSURED me that it would be ready within a week. Couple days later, he texts me saying that not only would it take an additional 2-3 weeks, but the sales manager REQUIRED us to pay up front for it and then Mike said it was $1500! (BAIT AND SWITCH AGAIN!) WOW..Sufficed to say, I cancelled the order. I'm not sure if they even put in the order because the guy I am going to to purchase the bed cover said it can be done in a couple days (and much cheaper). All in all, when you go to this dealership, make sure you have your deal in writing as their word is not worth a damn thing. I probably will not do business with this dealership again. I wish Yelp had the option of giving negative stars as this place is probably not worth the 1 star. I do like to note that their service department is pretty good though. Listen up Thompson owners.. What is the deal with the set up. I really don't get it. Why 8 counters - it is so confusing!?! Let me recap my experience: So, I got a safety recall on my Corolla. I called to make an appointment to get it taken care of, and a very nice guy was very friendly on the phone and told me to drop off in the morning and that I would be supplied with a rental car. Sweet. I go there at 8:00 AM. I pull in the parking lot looking for something that resembles a shop/garage/service department. I drive to the shop-looking building in the back. This is the DETAIL center - no service. The man points me toward the showroom building and tells me to valet my car. I pull up to the valet and they give me a ticket and take my car while instructing me to go inside (down some stairs and UNDER the showroom). I go inside, and I am greeted with about 8 counters, almost all with a man behind them, labeled "Red Team", "Gold Team", "Blue Team" etc. (8 colors). All the counters are angled toward me, and I have no idea where to go. I stand in the middle looking lost for about 2 minutes until someone asks, "Can I help you?" I tell the guy I am dropping my car off for service, and he helps me. After some paperwork, he hands me some certificate to go pick up my rental car and points me toward a 9th counter with a big red sign that says "RENTALS". I walk up to the rental counter, and a nice man fills out more paperwork, photocopies my license etc. (typical car-rental bullshit). He tells me to go outside and they will pull my car up. That happens in a reasonable amount of time and I am off to work. 9 Hours Later: I pull up in the rental back in the valet lane. I get out and the guy takes the car and points me back toward the room full of counters. Again, I walk in, look around, and have NO IDEA which counter to go to. I stand there looking lost again, but this time no one comes to my rescue. So, I think about it logically, I have this rental car sheet in my hand (which is all they gave me), so instinctively I head over to the RENTALS counter. But this time no one is there. I wait for about 10 minutes. Finally some teenage girl comes over to me and asks, "Can I help you?" I say, yes, I'm picking up my car. She tells me that I can just go outside and the valet will pull my car around. I try to give her the paper I have and ask her if I have to sign anything, and she says, "Nope, just head right out." I go out to the valet. They ask me for my ticket. I tell them I don't have a ticket, but I saw the man from the morning staple it to some paperwork. They ask me if I went inside, I say yes. At this point the valet guy is confused and says he will be right back, as he walks into the room of counters. He comes back out, and points be back in there, saying that I need to sign some paper, but I have a $0 balance (yippie). I walk in for a third time, and for a THIRD time, I have NO FRICKING IDEA which counter to go to. There is a guy on the phone at "Red Team" with some paperwork in front of him, and another guy looking at me. Finally the "Silver Team" guy asks, "Can I help you?" Again, I tell him I am trying to pick up my car. He asks me if I had a rental. I tell him yes, "Did you return it?" "Yes" I replied. He asks me for my last name and then starts looking through files and papers, looking around on all the desks. Finally, he walks to the biggest counter in the back corner and asks for my paperwork. There it is! My paperwork is at the "CASHIER" counter #10. I sign, they give me my valet ticket, and as I am walking out, I ask the guy about the color team counters.. I said, "What's up with the team counters, it's really confusing." He tells me "Oh, that just helps us keep track of the customers and organize our paperwork." Seriously?? Ok, so you are going to inconvenience and confuse all of your customers just to keep yourselves organized? I would LOVE to meet the guy who thought this set-up was a good idea. It took me 30 minutes to pick up my car. I will never go back - even if I get another safety recall. And it's not the staff, everyone was super nice & courteous (hence the second star).. but the whole user experience sucked. If someone who has power over there is reading this, you should really rethink that whole process.. read more

I am generally disappointed and very frustrated. My car was in for service 2 weeks ago. I gave you guys the okay to do my air filter, transmission fluid, and my headlights on top of the oil change I came there for in the beginning. And also to fix the vibration in my car I was feeling. I am not happy. My headlights which I paid $70 to have resurfaced just look awful. Not to mention I still have compound on my car. I got it out of the grill area, I think. But its still below my windshield and its also under my hood at the top and its on my engine. It was also around the headlights themselves. Also, I now have a noise that I can't entirely describe that was not there before I had the vehicle worked on. Its near my engine but I know its not my engine. I am annoyed about this whole thing. I paid $300 for what? To have my headlights look basically the same and to have a strange noise coming from my car that WAS NOT there before it was worked on by you guys. Also the vibration you were supposed to fix is WORSE then when I brought the car in. Not to mention, I was told to bring my car back and you will clean the compound off. Had you guys actually cleaned it the first time properly I wouldn't have to squeeze the time to drive 30 minutes in my over 50 hour work weeks. The faculty is very nice and fancy. We went there to test drive a Prius. The salesman -Domenick Criscolo spent over an hour to show us pricing, features, and let us test drive the car and showed us their service department. And he asked us "Are you going to buy a car today?" I said that we are still comparing and will not make a decision today. After that, he lost interest in talking to us. All further questions asked were answered with a bad attitude and lacked the qualities of a good salesman. He lost all interest to answer them and told us that we were not buying anything today and why I needed to know the interest rate for financing. He also said," I spent over 2 hours with you already, are you going to another Toyota dealer to compare price?" I have been to all different kinds of dealers to test drive and buy cars before. This is the worst salesman I ever seen after he knew we are not buying a car on that day. I think it is totally normal that we have to think, compare prices and models, re-visit the same dealer or different dealers before we make our decision to buy anything. We bought our car here last year and have never had any issues with service or the employees. Everyone is very friendly and it feels like they go out of their way to make things right/fair. Very elaborate waiting room with comfortable chairs, TVs and coffee, water, free freshly baked cookies. Bathrooms are nice and clean although I will say that the kids room looks pretty lonely with only one toy table and a kids table and chairs (I recommend some large pillows and maybe a small book shelf?). Not a requirement, but having kids, I can definitely say that a few books will go a long way. The service location and the dealership share the same location, so no confusion when bringing the car for service and I'm not sure if everywhere has a complementary wash and vacuum, but it saves me the trouble of doing it! read more

So I've had the pleasure of doing business with this company for a couple of years now and ill gladly rerate them. I don't think I've met a more courteous and friendly staff at a car dealership before. I used to have a Honda and used Keenan at the time but they shortly wore down my patience and when it was time to get a new car I went with Thompson and haven't been happier...but you can see my past review about that here. Onward with Thompson... The service department does what they can to help you out, and always treats you with respect. It's a little confusing with the desks but really it doesn't matter and anybody should be able to help you and they usually do even if they aren't your "team". I've also been able to get better deals because they compete with other Toyota dealerships in the state, so if you bring that to their attention they'll do what they can to beat their competitor. My only gripe with them is when I called and asked to talk about extending the warranty on my Rav-4 the guy said he'd call me back in an hour...and I've been waiting on that hour now for months so it's prolly too late to extend that warranty. That gripe is with a different department though. ANYWHO I mainly wanted to compliment their service department here and I will most certainly come back for future services since they do try to treat everybody right. read more

From start to finish, purchasing my new vehicle from Thompson was the best choice I could have made. They came recommended by my dearest friend and on the very first visit I knew these were the people I wanted to work with. I told Austin I wasn't ready to buy right away but would be within the next few months. (A different local dealer gave me less attentive customer service when they heard that I wasn't quite ready.) There was no rushing, no pressure and no question he wasn't willing to help me with. Over the next few months Austin would let me know if a vehicle meeting my wish list and budget was in and answered the ever growing list of questions I would have. The day finally came when I was ready to make the purchase. Not only did he find exactly what I wanted, he was able to coordinate a few extra features that I really wanted to be installed in an extremely timely fashion. W. Michael in the finance department was so pleasant and patient and was able to get me a monthly payment that was fair and in my budget. Excellent service division! They were helpful and welcoming when we really needed help. Arrived in New Hope from DC and Check Engine light came on. On Saturday am drove to Thompson Toyota for help tho we had no appointment. We were treated like old time regular customers. Their valet service was a nice touch, they offered a ride to a coffee shop if we wanted and said a rental car would be available if needed. The large comfortable wait area had free beverages and chocolate chip cookies. In about an hour they figured out the cause of the problem was something that didn't need to be repaired right away and they sent us on our way. No charge. Can't praise them enough! I purchased my 2020 Rav 4 Hybrid from Thompson and was very satisfied with the salesman and sale itself. This being said I took my car back for its 5K service and also because of an issue related to voice recognition and texting as well as navigation. I left my car with Thompson, I should point out that they are over an hour's drive from my home. I was called about 3:30 PM that day to say the car was ready and the voice recognition resolved. I picked up the car at about 4:30 PM, paid my bill and then had to wait almost 30 minutes until they could retrieve my car as it was parked behind a car that they couldn't move as they couldn't locate the fab to get it started. When my car finally was brought to me, I checked the voice recognition issue and it was still occuring and I was getting the same lack of recognition message. So now I had to drive back for 1 hr to my home in their rental and was told it would be re-addressed the next morning. I called at 10 AM and could not speak to "any service consultant" because they were so busy. This is unacceptable! read more

It was filled to the rim before turning it in at the Shell 300 yards away. They wouldn't answer my wife's call, had to show up in person to get the fraudulent charge removed. I would give this dealer zero stars if we could. We were interested in a used truck they had for sale. We live 2 hours away so we were working with them via phone and email. 2 previous times this dealer told us the truck was ours and then backed out 15 minutes later. Sales manager Steve Tagye is not a man of his word. We were told the second time that if the buyer could not secure funding and take delivery by end of the day, the truck was ours again (for the third time). Only to receive a call stating that the buyers were coming on the following day to pick the truck up. Buyers beware, this is our only experience with this place. Came in for emergency service and waited over 2 hours for them to tell me they needed to order a tire. My customer service person was very nice and I believe he did all he could. When they told me they had to order the tire, I asked them to put my full size spare on. I needed my car for my car seats and garage opener. I ended up waiting a total of three hours for a tire!!! Worst part about all this I have to come back and wait more when my tire comes in. I would suggest making other arrangements and not wait for your car to be done. However, I do have to give Thompson credit, their response to my complaint has been amazing! They have sent out a technician to my house to replace the tire. They charge "book time," which is industry standard consumer RIPOFF; meaning, if it takes them 1 hour to work on your car, but the "book" allows for 4 hours, you're charged $300 instead of $75. I know from experience, bc they quoted me an absurd number for a spark plug change - "book time" and I took it elsewhere and had it done for 1/3 the price bc I paid actual time. It's like going to the Casino, which I don't do - all that fancy stuff and valet parking has to be paid by somebody - YOU! read more

Explained the service people I lived an hour away and did not want to travel back and forth, well they sure didn't care I was back and forth 6 times 12 hours in a car I just bought ..aside from the gas, tolls, and mileage on the car. Corolla would not start last night. Battery was only 8 months old. Talked to Dallas our Blue Team service writer. He advised us to have AAA bring the car in, which we did. They kept it overnight all safe and sound. Dallas made contact later the next day. It was not the starter as we thought but a dead battery. Completely covered under the warranty. Can't ask for anything more than that. They came and got us and we picked up our car. Dallas was great. I also talked to Andrew later the previous night and he said, even though AAA got the car started, I should let them look at it anyway. He was very nice also. In fact everyone, from the driver who picked us up, to the nice people inside who quickly got our paperwork, to the exceptionally nice young lad who retrieved our car. All in all, absolutely perfect. I went to three Honda dealers and two Toyota dealers to find the right van and hatchback for my family. Let me start with the worst. 1. Keene Honda This place sucks! I went there twice and I felt totally uncomfortable and the people there seems anxious to kick me out for some reason. I guess I was bothering them and they were too busy picking their noses. 2. Team Toyota This place sucks too! They tried to scam me by showing me a car that I wanted and giving me pricing for a different model car. I guess they wanted me to go around with the price quote and look like an idiot. When my wife called them to find out what happened, the floor manager said that he didn't know what happened (btw.. he's been in the business for 30 years and the salesman worked for like 20) so don't give me that BS. Someone told me that's what they do sometime to sucker people into buying a model they don't want. What I don't understand is how the hell is someone going to buy a model they're not interested in? In the end wouldn't the person realize?!. On the other hand though, Thompson Toyota was so different. I don't know if everyone gets the same treatment but the whole experience was so smooth and painless. They had the car we wanted and they also worked on the price. They also gave a better trade in value of the car, well even though it was gobbled up by the price we paid for the van... it all works out in the end. I just like that fact that they didn't try to insult me with a low ball figure on the trade in. I know that it didn't have the best carfax but cmon.. throw me a bone right? Make me feel like I'm getting a deal for Christ sakes. The salesman that we worked with was super cool. His name is Scott and I would totally recommend him. He didn't come off superficial like most dealership salesman which made me feel comfortable dealing with him. They also really try to give you the best service possible. I strongly believe that buying a car for a good price is one thing but another great buying point is what happens after you leave the lot. read more

I have been a customer at Thompson for 6 years. They always try to sell you services, which in the past has amounted to paying hundreds extra per service visit. I know it was costing me more by using the dealer, but I thought it was worth the extra, and the suggestions they made where not unreasonable. But this last visit they tried to charge me over $2,000 for my 2020 inspection. They told me the brakes and rotors needed to be replaced, not because of wear but because there was rust on the area outside of the brake pad path. Where the brake pad contacted the rotor was smooth, no rust, but there was rust on outer parts of the rotor. This car was driven, at most just over 900 miles since they inspected the car last year. Last year Thompson made no mention of impending doom, or I had rust on my rotors, they replaced the rear brakes the year before or about 3,000 miles ago. My car is stored in a garage and covered, there is no way the rust developed in 900 miles, I am sure the outside edges of my rotors have been rusted for the last few times Thompson inspected my car. It has no effect on brake performance as long as the brake contact area is clean. If this was a few hundred dollars repair I would have had them do the work, even if I thought it was unnecessary. But I guess the service tech needed an extra pay/ commission by trying to get me to pay $2,000 for a service that is not needed. I am done with Thompson and will never go back; I feel they have breached my trust!!! I would recommend if your car is out of warranty do not use Thompson, it is just a matter of time when they will take advantage of you. It looks like you care with your post. If you are really striving for happy customers it does not show. The truth is your advisors don't care if I ever come back, that is how I felt when leaving your dealership. The advisors should have told management that you have an unhappy customer. Then management should have called me before I made my post, but again your service team does not care. Again i used the sales person i had before. came in for a used rav 4 white xle 11k miles . it was sold before i got there and Rob rechecked inventory and found a rav4 xle 11k miles again but in hunter green which was really beautiful . mint condition. more than i expected and with the help of tommy everything went really smooth. thanks Rob Ridgeway and Thanks Tommy. I had to get my Highlander in for an oil change quickly and the rep on the phone made room for me on a Saturday (very nice service). Although, I did have to drop it off in the morning, the job wasn't done until after closing time. But the clerk did comp me for being a new customer. Way to go! read more

The 4 stars is for service. Sales would be 1star but that's another story. Service appointments are always available and once I just showed up when my RAV4 had an issue and they had no problem going ahead to check it out. The complimentary wash and vacuum is a definite plus. I've never had a service issue here. read more

Very strange....took my Highlander in for an engine fan wiring issue, came home with my fog lights not working for the first time in 15 years. I got an excuse, had to take it back in and was told by Box Cox it would be $20 twice and ended up being charged $47 (after the original cost of $1,000 for several issues) for them wasting more of my time, after taking days to address my car previously. Service people are miserable, not even close to having customer service skills, and Bob talks out of both sides of his mouth, makes absurd statements, doesn't listen to the subject matter...over analyzes your "thoughts" to the point of passive aggressive behavior. Oh, and they forgot to wash my car as was indicated on the service ticket "for free". read more
