I will always go out of my way to eat here. Top notch homemade food. Friendly owner and staff. Every small town in America needs a place like the TCD

Once again a great meal! I had breakfast which was pancakes and sausage. My husband had the cheeseburger club and fries. He loved it!

A very simple hometown diner. Friendly and good simple homemade food. Homemade soups and pies. We were full so we didn't get any but what came out looked very tempting.

Breaded haddock with a side if green beans. Hand-cut, homemade French fries on my mom's plate. Absolutely delicious food!

Fantastic food; great wait staff. Looks like a dilapidated hole in the wall, so we had *serious* doubts, but it smelled good and was clean (if very worn) inside. We both had the breaded haddock with green beans and Mom had the homemade French fries and I had the vinegary, slightly-sweet pepper slaw. All DELICIOUS and served quickly. Lemonade was good and the iced tea was Southern quality (and they offered "sweet" or "unsweet"! Awesome! Try the shoofly pie or the Yum Yum cake for dessert. This is a hidden gem, indeed.

Small town America country restaurant! A spot to grab a home cooked PA style meal or a BLT. You also can't miss the ice cream!

My kids took mom and dad on an expedition on July 11th that involved the local Wild Animal…read moreSanctuary and then we went to the Rusty Rail for lunch. I had a brisket sandwich, wife had a really immense chicken salad. My son had a ruben sandwich and I can't remember what my daughter had. However, all the food was really great and I really did enjoy myself. After lunch my daughter took me to the Rusty Rail store and I bought a nice T-shirt. If you do buy a T-shirt, I want to say, while the shirts are great, wash up nice and feel really comfortable, make sure you buy an upsized shirt. Normally I take a large but I decided on an XL and I am glad I did because after washing the XL fits perfectly. And I got to speak with (I think either the manager or owner) about the music they were playing. They were playing songs from my favorite singer, Bob Seger. I have every Bob Seger song he ever published on either, CD, Cassette Tape (yeah, still got one that works), or vinyl record. Told him he needs to check out the Bob Seger song Little Victories. I actually have a vinyl record with just that song. It is the large 78 version. That was a rare find and I actually found that in Germany in the mid 80's. The song says a lot. Anyway, after speaking with the man, my daughter said I could pick out and mix my own six pack of beer. Let me tell you, Rusty Rail makes some really, really fantastic beer. I would have to say my two faovrites are Wolf King, a stout with coffee & oatmeal and the other is Fool's Gold, Peanut Butter Hefeweizen. Oh my God, those two are absolutely great beers. I should be living in Mifflinburg because I would be making a weekly stop at the Rusty Rail. And for all you ex-military people, the Rusty Rail does give a discount to military. I hope my kids take me to the Rusty Rail again next year. Oh, in case I did not say it. The kids took mom and dad to the Rusty Rail and the Wild Animal Sanctuary as a gift for our birthday's and Mother's Day and Father's Day. It just so happens my wife was born on Mother's Day and I was born the day after Father's Day. The atmosphere of the Rusty Rail is great, it is simply a real nice place to socialize. And as a compliment to the Rusty Rail, I want to add this. When I go out to eat, one of the first things I do is use the restroom. Why? To see how clean the restrooms are. If a venu's restrooms are dirty, find another place because if they can't keep the restrooms clean, then they don't care about your food much either. The restrooms at the Rust Rail were immaculately clean. JUST TO BE CLEAR, THE RESTROOMS AT THE RUSTY RAIL ARE IMMACULATELY CLEAN. Thank You Rusty Rail for a wonderful time with my family.

We tried stopping in once before and they were completely booked for the night. This time we planned ahead, made a reservation, and were seated right away. At the recommendation of our waitress, we all ordered the chicken and waffles special, and every single person loved it. It was absolutely delicious. I also had the Reuben soup and it was very tasty. They also have a wonderful beer selection. I tried the blueberry beer, which was very tasty with a smooth blueberry finish that really stood out. If you're looking for a great brewery with good food, great beer, and a fun atmosphere, I would definitely recommend checking this place out!

They are definitely a steakhouse, offering many different cuts of steak at higher price points, which is expected for quality steaks. No one in our group ordered steak this time, however. Three of us ordered the Bourbon Glazed Chicken Breast, which was made with Bell & Evans chicken -- always a great sign because their chicken is excellent quality. We all really enjoyed our meals. The restaurant itself is very nice inside, and the service was good. We arrived about an hour before closing, and there were still a couple of parties dining. One thing worth noting: if you're a water snob like me and carry your Yeti filled with reverse osmosis water everywhere, this restaurant does not allow outside beverages. In all the years I've carried my water bottle with me, this is actually the first restaurant that has ever told me I couldn't have it there. Overall, I do recommend this restaurant, but I'd also recommend looking over the menu ahead of time so you know what to expect

The parking lot always seems full, but I never stopped until tonight. All I have to say, this is one of THE BEST steaks I've had in a very long time, maybe ever. My friend Steve invited me to have dinner here tonight and I was not disappointed! I had the strip with green beens and a loaded potato. Steve had a huge tomahawk. They were both cooked perfectly medium rare and super tender which Steve informed the chef personally. Sarah provided great service and many whiskey sours. Great job. Now I have to come back. Sorry was so hungry I didn't take pics.
