Our second time coming here and I absolutely enjoy this place and mostly because they offer chocolate wines!!! They have an outdoor seating area which is also their restaurant and we were seated right away on a Sunday afternoon. The chocolate flight I got was $25 for 3 wines. We also orders a cheese platter for $22. The views are so relaxing and the area is peaceful. They also had a bad playing music. They have a gift shop where you can purchase wine and they offer 15% of if you had a wine flight from the restaurant.

It's a winery, but I will never forget the warm sourdough bread basket! I'm still thinking about it and think I need to go back to get another. The charcuterie board is equally as good. Great wine, great food, and on this particular day, I was also with great friends. Oh, and don't let me forget the excellent music as well. This winery checked all the boxes. Our server was wonderful, very accommodating and attentive. It was definitely a five star experience. Even the weather cooperated. PS: fun fact, I'm actually allergic to wine, but their iced tea hit the spot. Friends enjoyed the wine and champagne flights. Final comment: this is amazing event venue! Romantic Ambiance galore!

DJ Wen brings out the crowd. Our server was friendly but no one was impressed with their food. I think there are better wineries for dining. Their food gives me like corner bakery vibes. I ended up getting the lamb chops and they were a 7.5 at best. I like mine char grilled. The blood orange mimosa was delicious.

August 24, 2025 | Temecula | What a fun day at Thornton Winery! I'm so grateful to have met Raffia Thomas at the Festival of Art, as she invited myself & a great friend to the winery for her performance! What a fun, as well as relaxing experience! Wine | Yum, light, and refreshing! I enjoyed both the chocolate wine ($16), as well as Barbera Red Wine ($17)! I'm not an expert on wine, but I do know that I enjoy it! Hahaha! I have experienced two wineries before, one in Brazil, as well as at a wedding in the state of Washington! Death By Chocolate Cake $14 | Shared | Absolutely yummy, adorned with the gorgeous flower, alongside a plethora of plumb blueberries and mouthwatering strawberries, even better with every single bite! Simply thinking about it right now is making me want a bite! Fluffy, light and deliciously decadent! Fish & Chips $32 | Tasty! Plentiful! I'm looking forward to exploring the menu more on my next visit! Customer Service | Super nice from the moment my friend and I arrived! Friendly vibes throughout, thanks again! Our server Jacob/Jake E. was amazing, attentive, and helpful with the menu, and especially the wine! Weather | 96° It was hot as ever, but the fans above were pure perfection, as well as the covered space above, which shielded us all from the sun! Parking | Free, plentiful and in two separate areas! Raffia Thomas & Band | Amazing! Raffia's voice is beautiful & loved her energy! She sang a variety of songs and covers! Her energy was everything! I'm looking forward to attending more of her performances! She had the crowd dancing, singing, and just having a great time! Crowd | Friendly, upbeat & quite stylish! There were couples, families, some people were clearly on dates, and there was even a bachelorette party of girls having fun at a nearby table! I was grateful to attend with a great friend, who also enjoyed the winery experience, as well as the music!! I'm grateful to have friends who enjoy getting out and about just as much as I do! Score! Overall | I'm already looking forward to returning to Thornton Winery, trying more items on the menu and enjoying the beautiful atmosphere and relaxing vibes! It was definitely worth the drive and what a treat! I truly had a great time!

Delicious burger and very relaxing atmosphere. Staff were very sweet and we loved that it's a dog friendly place. There was live music and it was perfect for the setting. Smooth jazz, not too loud and added to the experience nicely. We also tried a red wine flight and very much enjoyed the wines. Flavorful and sophisticated plus they give a nice pour. Would absolutely come back.

    Jessica L.

They had very loud music on Sunday. We ended up leaving because it was so loud we couldn't enjoy the setting. The wine was okay. They allow dogs on the patio but I wouldn't say it was very dog friendly (they didn't even bring her water). Our server was friendly though and came by to check on us a few times.

My friend has a membership at Thorton, everytine we go we get free wine flights, full glasses of wine or a blood orange mimosa (my fav), so being a member has its benefits. They have a full restaurant, so you don't have to drink on an empty stomach. They have both indoor and out door seating, love dining al fresco and enjoying the breathtaking taking views. They also have live music regularly

What a beautiful winery, we went for brunch and had an a great experience. My friends got the champagne tasting and I got the blood orange mimosa. The French dip was really filling and loved the onion rings they were so crispy. We got the fish and chips which was really good also and an omelet. Our waitress was so friendly and she helped make food choices. Also get the Brie En Croute so yummy.

I had Thanksgiving dinner at Thornton Winery, and I ordered the turkey with vegetables -- and honestly, it was so good. The turkey was moist, well-seasoned, and not dry at all, which is hard to pull off. The vegetables were fresh, perfectly cooked, and balanced the meal really well. The atmosphere was cozy, the service was great, and it felt like a really nice place to actually enjoy Thanksgiving without stress. If you're in Temecula wine country and want a holiday meal or a special dinner, this is definitely a spot I'd recommend. And our server Jacob was amazing.

Ask the Community - Thornton Winery

Is there an indoor, air conditioned place for tasting?

Yes there is, but it wasn't an option for Mother's Day brunch

What are the hours for tastings? We are trying to plan our tastings, and it looked like you might come open later than others? Are reservations needed for dinner on a Sunday…

I went around 2 p.m. on a Sunday afternoon in early summer. I think there was a reservation needed, I would make one if I were you. Good food!

Are there any nearby hotels that will shuttle us there or is Uber available in that area?

Hello, I do not know of any hotels that provide a shuttle to wineries. However Uber and Lyft are…

How much is the tasting on Saturdays?

Stand up tasting bar offers 5 tastings for $25

Is there free parking on premises?

    Yes.

    Do they allow children?

Yes, as long as their with an adult.

    What is the attire?

Casual. You will see a variety of people dressed in dresses, jeans, shorts, you name it.

Do you need a reservation for wine tasting?

No, we do not take reservations for just wine tasting. Wine tasting is on a walk in basis; first come first served.

Hello, we have reservations for dinner but would like to enjoy the tasting room before, do we need reservations for the tasting room? We have a party of 7. Thank you

The tasting area is in the same location as the outside dinning area. Also, they combine the tasting and dining together which is much better and convenient.

I got the red and white wine flight and I have been wanting to buy one of the reds but can't remember which one. It was either the Sangiovese or the Tempranillo. The one that I liked better was lighter and more fruity with a strawberry taste. Help?

Hi Amanda, we're so glad to hear you enjoyed your wine flight! The red wine you preferred, based on the description, would be the Sangiovese. Stop in or call with other wine questions, we are happy to help!

Are there different type of flights, if so what are they and what's the pricing?

Hi Crystal, we have several different flights ranging in price based on the types of wine or champagne. Please click this link to view the flight list and pricing:…

How does the free wine tasting flight with check in work? Could I used it after dinner? If there are 5 of us, can everyone check in on their phone? Thank you!

It's two for one! I don't know for sure if you could have two check ins for 3 tastings or if they will only allow one check in for the party.

Do you have to be 21 to eat at the restaurant?

Hello Scarlet, no you don't have to be 21 to eat at our restaurant and winery. We hope you stop in and give us a try!

Do you currently allow pets at the restaurant?

Hi Sharon, yes we do in our outside dining areas. We hope to see you soon.

Are you open for wine tasting right now?

Hi Tiffanie, yes we are open for seated wine flight tastings outdoors. We are open Friday & Saturday 11 am to 9 pm and Sunday through Thursday 11 am to 7 pm. We hope to see you!

Is the restaurant Cafe champagne pet friendly?

Hi Helen, We do allow leased pets on our outdoor patio. We also have a lower grass area. We hope you…

Do you do brunch on Saturdays?

Hi Christine, We only serve brunch on Sunday’s from 11:00-3:00pm. We hope to serve you soon :-)

Do they do brunch on Sundays?

We do serve a combined brunch and lunch menu on Sunday’s from 11:00am-3:00pm.

First and foremost, I will NEVER be visiting this winery EVER again. To anyone that reads this…read morereview, YOU ARE WARNED you will be subjected to the worst experience and customer service that you will probably have to ever endure. My Wife and I are appalled over what happened. To the Business Owner, Cane V., you need to train your employees, the faces of YOUR everyday business, to be more EMOTIONALLY INTUITIVE and PROFESSIONAL and have GENERAL MATURITY. Where do I start? If you are looking for a winery that has an unprofessional, rowdy brewery atmosphere that attracts Entitled Stank Faced Boomer Temecula Wine Moms and their Snobby Little Cliques LOOK NO FURTHER, THIS IS YOUR PLACE. Our Experience: my Wife and I came over to sample some wines from this winery that was recommended from a friend. On the Winery Website, you can do 2 different types of wine tastings: Classic Tastings of 6 wines of your choice or a Private Wine Tasting of 8 different ones for a higher price. This is what initially attracted my Wife and I to this winery in the first place (big mistake on our end). Upon arrival, we were pleasantly surprised to find out that wine tasting is no longer being offered at all. The incompetent red haired bartender at the front entrance provided us with no other alternative other than "Yea we don't offer that anymore, you can do by the glass or by the bottle." Her tone changed completely when I asked her about the Club they advertise everywhere. She then tells us that they are booked for the day, however the BAR and LAWN area are open seating, after 8PM everything is open seating. It was 6:30/7PM so we decided by that point, we'll wait for a spot to open up and enjoy some wine then in the meantime. We figured, it's just the 2 of us so we should have luck finding a spot. At the bar area, I noticed that 3 seats were left unattended. The people there got up and left, no drinks were left behind or any "Reservation" placards were placed to notify people. I walk over, sit down and wave to my Wife to come and sit at the bar area. We sat down, sipped some of our wine for 10-15 minutes. Bar had 2 people working, a gentleman and heavier set Blonde lady. Both of them never said anything and nothing was ever exchanged between us and the heavier set Blond lady. I was even thinking about buying a beer or cocktail and thankfully I didn't. Shortly after this time, an EXTREMELY RUDE, ENTITLED, and VISIBLY DRUNK lady and her husband RUDLY went in between my Wife and I and COMMANDED we leave her spots. My Wife and I laughed at her and were genuinely confused because the BAR IS OPEN SEATING, THERE ARE NO RESERVATIONS FOR OPEN SEATING. She then gets even more angry and DEMANDS we leave or else, says to my Wife and I "YOU're GOING TO LEAVE NOW," I tell the lady to kick rocks, it's open seating then she enters the bar area to talk to the heavier set Blond bar tender that we wont move. The Blond bar tender THEN has the AUDACITY to tell us "They have been sitting here all night, YOU TWO need to leave immediately." My Wife and I look at each other and absolutely laugh it off at the sheer absurdity of everyone's tone towards us. Who do you think you are to blatantly kick us out ON OPEN SEATING? Either you are severely undertrained from the Owner or you as a staff member play favorites with other entitled customers. Both of which are absolutely absurd. Upon this interaction, my Wife and I leave and go right down the street to Europa Winery and sampled several wines and had a $250 dinner at Bolero. Here, the experience was a complete 180° and we should've never wasted our time at Miramonte Winery being subjected to the nastiness from the Temecula Trash. If you are a large party, or wanting to host private events, I STRONGLY recommend ANYWHERE else besides Miramonte Winery. The Staff here is atrocious, rude, immature and ugly. I pride myself in never leaving nasty reviews but this experience changed everything moving forward.

Last time I was here was probably 12 years ago, and WOW has this place changed. It's basically the Disneyland of wineries now! There's a mimosa station when you arrive, wine tastings in the main building, cabana-style seating on the lawn, and tables and chairs almost everywhere you look. They also have an onsite grille restaurant, wine clubs, tours, and the cutest little shop inside. The property itself is beautiful with tons of photo spots, vineyards you can stroll through, and even a little man-made lake that gives the whole place a whimsical feel. There's also a ballroom with a huge projector where we watched the World Cup game! And random but important... bathrooms everywhere. The dress code is super chill here! It was HOT when we visited, and I even saw guys walking around in flip-flops, so definitely dress comfortably for the weather. They even have a shuttle that picks you up and drops you off at the parking lot! It comes around about every 15 minutes, and tips are welcomed. Our shuttle driver told us Wilson Creek has a contract with Disneyland, where they sell their infamous Almond Champagne, and you can also find some of their champagnes at Ralph's! The staff were all super friendly! For tastings, you purchase a tasting card at the register and then belly up to the wine bar to choose your pours. You can also just grab a glass or bottle of wine, and they even have beers on tap! You can get married here, host an event, grab food, spend the day wine tasting, or just hang out and enjoy the property. It's seriously such a happening place and we can't wait to come back!

The must try dishes for me were the Salmon&Ahi Crudo, as well as the ceviche. Both plates were quite refreshing, but watch out for the spiciness! The sweet and spicy crudo was set inside of a toasted coconut with some chips to enjoy alongside the fish. The ceviche also came with some chips, but had a more savory and citrus taste. We got 2 entrees, the Linguini De Mariscos and and the Pot Pie Espanol. Both dishes were quite rich. The linguini dish had lobster, scallops, and shrimp. The pot pie dish had filet mignon, lobster, and bone marrow. The flaky crust was definitely memorable. As for service, Phillip was great. He had recommended a rosé to go along with my dish. I was looking for a sweet wine, but they were out that day. Once we received our check, we had a bit of a wait since a large party needed their order taken. Other than that, the service was great, out water was constantly getting filled by the attentive staff.
