Great rv/campground to stay in while passing through. Huge sites, with lots of privacy. Grounds well cared for, staff friendly at check in. Lots of roads to ride bike around on. Not their fault weather wasn't great so didn't have a chance to fully appreciate what they had to offer such as pool and lake. read more

Campground is huge, lots of space between most of the campsites. You have to remember this is camping not five star Four Seasons Hotel. Campground has many different options for entertainment especially for kids. The folks that run the café in the clubhouse were very nice a the food was excellent. My only complaint and it's a big one. The roads here are absolutely atrocious, whoever's responsible for the road into the camping area whether it be the city or the county or the campground, they need a new job just horrible. The road is at best washboard rutted, muddy and full of potholes. It really needs lots of work. Also, be careful my GPS wanted to send me down some backwoods very poor Road. Be careful if you're coming from the West on 380 the entrance to the campground comes up on you very quickly be aware. Other than the roads the place is very nice, very hospitable, very friendly, we will be back again. read more

We read a lot about the road to the rv sites were bad but it appears they have fixed all the pot holes We just got here Sunday May 26th 2024 and the roads are fine just your typical gravel roads. The staff at the entrance were very friendly and helpful. read more

We have a thousand trails membership so we spend a lot of time in their parks. I liked this park well enough. The best thing about this park are the people who run it! They make your stay absolutely wonderful! They do what they can with what they are given by the thousands trails company and it's not much not much at all. The bathrooms are always very clean the showers hot and everyone is so friendly! They put on a fantastic Christmas party for everyone and it was just amazing! The kids had a blast! Food and white elephant gift exchange! Amazing! always hated the idea of giving favor to the people that live in the the parks, they are designed for camping, when you have people that life in the parks full time they often don't fallow rules, they leave their sites in disarray, they are always given the premium sites leaving the rest of us without full hookups. As the permanent residents grow the amount of full hook ups diminish its been happening more and more on our travels but I think this park was the worst I've seen. With basically only full hook ups for the permanent residence. The one good thing I can say is they will come and empty your gray water tank for $10.00 and that's pretty good. read more

This place has only 19 sites with 50 Amps and sewer. Most of those are occupied by long term residents. I cannot run my AC on 30 amps. Checked in with my membership and my rate is "free". No spaces were acceptable so when leaving we were threatened that if we cancelled our reservation we would be charged for not staying. I dared them to do it. I will dispute any charges. Find another option other than trying to stay here. read more

So far the staff is great! The bathrooms are clean however dated. They do have laundry facilities but no change machine. The local dollar general won't give out change either (just a heads up). At this time, the majority of "campers" seem to live hear year round or close to it. Not your typical friendly camping neighbor, more stay to yourself and not chat with anyone. I prefer friendly neighbors. Has a great fishing hole and decent clubhouse and pool. I did not go in, to either of them. It does have a playground for the littles. This campground is 30 min to any major shopping areaAll in all we would stay here again. read more

This place treated me like a stray dog. I was asked to leave due to my Horse trailer with living quarters being a "stock trailer...". After being there for two nights. A man showed up and went to the RV next to me and started making a bit of a scene. It was humiliating. I work in emergency services and had to be at work the next day. During the pandemic it became very hard to rent air bnb, while waiting on my house to sell. I had to start staying in my living quarters in my horse trailer to make due. Trying to social distance and trying to stay to myself. I am quiet and clean. I didn't cause any problems, unlike the partners around me. I was asked to leave after dark due to my living quarters not being up to their standards. Luckily I found a place about 45 minutes away to park at so I could make it to work. I wasn't even going to leave a review. However after being on hold today for 45 minutes. I have nothing else to do. When I got home from the RV park I received a bill from Thousand Trails saying I didn't show up, and I could go back until I paid the fee. I've tried to cancel the membership and I keep getting charged. I bought this membership solely to have a few nights at this place. Obviously I never want to hear the name "Thousand Trails" ever again!!!! read more

Love the sites, but not the roads. WAY too many potholes. Damage was done to our RV. It's a shame because it's close to family.

This was one of the worse RV parks we've stayed at. We were told they had 50 amp with sewer when we checked in. By the time we got to the sites people from the other side had moved and took the 50 amp with sewer spots. The front desk knew nothing about it. They advertise WI-FI but don't have WI-FI, they advertise cable but don't have cable. The sites are so unlevel we had to set up so far away from the sewer hook up we had to go and buy more dump hose. The road leading to the sites is the worst I've seen in an RV park. The grass was cut nice and the grounds looked nice. We'll make sure to avoid thousand trails RV parks from now on. read more

So much fun! Our favorite RV spot so far! Staff is super friendly and there is so much to do with family! Lake is steps away, play ground, atv/golf cart trails where you can look for deer and turkeys! The club house and bathrooms are all original but in great shape! You can't go wrong at this place. The road back to the camp ground is being worked on and resurfaced so if you read anything negative about the road it won't be an issue for long :) read more

Pros: VERY friendly staff! Excellent onsite breakfast buffet. Access to the lake. VERY large sites. Tons of activities for kids. Very clean. No dog poop anywhere. Cons: Fire ants EVERYWHERE!!! Only a handful of sites have sanitary. Sticker burrows EVERYWHERE!!! Facilites are run down. Low water pressure. I really wanted to love this place. I'm really easy to please and if they would treat the weeds/stickers and kill the fire ants this would easily be one of our favorite spots. But at $50 a night when most places are $30-40. read more

If I could give this RV park a 0, I would. So glad we drove there to check it out before making a reservation. We would have been so disappointed if we had made a reservation and just showed up. No shade, just west Texas scrub brush are sparsely scattered around the rock and dirt. It looks like years since they have maintained the roads. Being shocked is an understatement. Unfortunately, they mostly have "personal sites" where it looks like RV'ers have permanently moved in, making the park look like a cluttered trailer park. We got a free year's membership with the purchase of our new RV. Worthless, if this is the typical Thousand Trails RV park. We think we'll just stay in the beautiful Texas State Parks. read more

SITES ARE FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED. We paid for a full-hookup, 50 amp spot, but when we arrived, we didn't have a reserved space and had to go hunting for a spot. Come to find out, most of the full-hookup spots are reserved for people living at the campground - even if you find one that's open, you can't use it. The roads are not in good shape, they're pitted, narrow and winding in places, the sites are far from level, and here are low hanging trees - hooking up at night is not a good idea. The amenities are very outdated (metal merry-go-round in 100+ degree Texas heat anyone?), but they do have a well-kept pool. They have ATV trails in the campground and there were 4-wheelers screaming through our camp around 2 am. Overall, it seemed like a place where you either live full-time, or locals go to party and play on their ATVs. Not really the kind of place we'll keep on our list. read more

FALSE ADVERTISING, POOR MAINTENANCE and BED BUGS!!!! My husband and I paid for seven nights and this place was so awful that we only stayed one night. After booking for seven nights online, we arrived for check in and paid the $100 security deposit. All literature said the deposit is refundable upon checkout. DAY 1: We arrived to find that the water was so low that the pier was at least 200 feet from the water. I have pics to prove it. We went to our cabin which was a duplex. There was no bedding and we were not told we would be responsible for our own bedding. After reading the information provided, Lo and behold, bedding was for rent. I have rented several cabins and never have I had to rent bedding. We put a couple of things in the fridge as we only lived an hour away so we drove home with the intention of returning with bedding the next day and to make the most of our vacation. DAY 2: We went straight to our duplex/cabin and began unpacking. We noticed that housekeeping had come in and put the chairs back up and cleaned out the fridge. Now remember we booked this cabin ahead of time for 7 days. I called management and they brought our food back and apologized saying people checked in and then left on a regular basis. So they just re-rent it. Go figure! About an hour after arriving, our cabin neighbors two cabins down, began playing extremely loud rap/thumping music all day. We could even hear it from inside our cabin with the tv up loud. We couldn't stand the noise so in hopes that it wouldn't be thumping long. we went exploring. We learned that the boat ramps were closed due to low water. Nothing on the website about that. It showed a beautiful pier you can fish from. The water behind the cabin was way down a large un-mowed, overgrown slope. Again about two hundred yards away. We went to the game room and found all electronic games out of order. We went to the pool area and found that the hot tub was out of service and had been out of service for a very long while. We still spent the night believe it or not. At 5am I awoke to chunks of ice falling out of the frozen air conditioner onto the floor. Nothing like mopping lots of icy water at 5am. That was it. We had enough.!!!! We packed up and went to the rangers station to check out. I advised the manager of our complaints. She stated she also heard the loud music but no one bothered to address the issue. We were told our package was non-refundable. So I then asked about my security deposit and was told it would probably not be refunded due to our checking out early. I stated the cabin was left in the same condition as when I arrived and after having further discussion I stated that I expect my security deposit back and I will not argue with you further. I left and three days later I'm noticing little bites popping up here and there. I researched bed bugs and they look exactly like the bites I have. Needless to say, if you've read this you will stay anywhere but this place. read more

Nice roomy campground but as many have commented, the road in which is 2 miles long is a nightmare. When we got to our site we found that one of the drawers in our camper broke from all of the bouncing on the potholes. Other than that, a pretty nice place. read more

The road to get back to the camp is long and crazy full of potholes which can be pretty hard on your rig unless you're pretty dodgey and go super slow. (And we only have a 23 foot, jeeze) They didn't have full hookups for us even with the MAJORITY of their spots were available which is pretty annoying especially when you're booked to stay multiple weeks. It almost seemed like the "personal sites" were taking up most of the full hookup spots. The bathrooms were kept clean. The camp spots are pretty much just in the middle of a grass field which was annoying for us as stickaburrs were a huge issue here. We were constantly pulling them from ourselves, our toddler and the worst was our dogs fur which seemed totally taken over. We're still stepping on them on our indoor rug. We had to park near the entrance as that's the only place our AT&T and Verizon internet would get even 2 bars (just enough to work efficiently) Overall Eh. We were in good moods as this was a layover couple of weeks until we got to California but probably would only stay again to kill a day or two. They do have wifi throughout which you can pay for daily, we didn't use it. read more
