Oh my goodness! I love LOVE Love this Thousand Trails guys!! I have been to a couple already and I can say with some certainty that this is one of the best! We are RV campers so my experience only applies to reservations spots with hookups for camping, not cabins. I can tell you the reservation spots are very secluded, you don't feel like you're in a line of other RVs, all are pretty much surrounded in the deep blush forest of the area. The staff is friendly, nice hiking trails and access to the Pacific Ocean is available. One thing that really impressed me about the campground was, during our time of traveling through it was still pretty cool most mornings and evenings yet the campground restrooms stayed nice and warm! I used to come here with my family growing up. Well actually a lot of different thousand trails locations in the PNW. I came here with my friends because I'm just not into primitive camping. I need electricity to run my cpap and a toilet is much preferable than the primitive alternative. That's why thousand trails is nice. Even though we were tent camping, all the sites have electricity, water hook up, and fire up. And the foliage provides good privacy. They even have bathrooms with running water, showers, and porcelain toilets. There are amenities as well, such as a pool, Spa, and mini golf. The lodge offers a nice space to play board games out of the weather or just visit. The beach is also a quick 5-10 minute "hike" from the grounds. No cell service here, it's just you and your fiends and natural. read more

I want to say I signed up at this particular 1000 trails 2 years ago. It needed some maintenance but it had potential. The young man who is the recreation director Travis is still working here after 2 years. He is still happy and seems to enjoy his job. We visit several different thousand trails every year. This is definitely one of the better ones. We visited off season in November so I feel like outside maintenance is hard to gauge. They keep the bathrooms very clean. The bathroom set up is strange. There is not a lot of privacy between the two showers in the bathroom and the need more hooks for clothes. The non-handicap shower has no pressure but it appears it's this way because if the pressure was higher then it would spray outside the shower. The bathroom stall doors open so close towards the toilets it's a tight squeeze to get in. The beach is a short walk but you do have to cross the highway. Thankfully during our experiences all the cars were nice and stopped for us to cross. The lodge is beautiful and has good wifi if you need to work or a kid needs to do school. The hot tub was very clean only disappointment was everything closed at 7:30pm. read more

Disappointed to say the least. Drove 9 hours from California to a campground that was run down. Welcome gate does not tell you what's open. Took us over an hour to find a site for us and my parents and with big rigs that is not easy. Roads are narrow no turnaround spots had to go to the top gate many a times just to turn around to go find another spot again. They should tell you at the front u will not get a sewer site because they are all taken by people who live here. Because of this, we will not be renewing thousand trails memberships next year. It Is getting quite annoying because this is reoccurring "campground livers" taking all sewer or roomy spots. Both dump stations out of order, multiple bathrooms closed, multiple electrical sites broken, heated pool advertised not heated just in door, not enough dumpsters must walk way to far to get to one. It's pretty.... that's it. Will not be back read more

Arrive early if you expect to find a site with full hookups! Yes it's a shame, but honestly the bathrooms here are clean , and even sites without full hookups are situated nicely. The location of this Thousand Trails is perfect, and access to the beach is fairly easy to navigate. Great location for family vacations, especially with kiddos. read more

We just returned from a few days at the coast. Staying at this Thousand Trails campground was easy peasy. The roads in the campground were not super wide, but with care they were just fine. Maybe a bit bumpy in spots but heck, it's camping! We didn't go to any of the facilities so I am unable to comment on those, but our site was quite nice. Even by the highway it was not very noisy. There was thick vegetation between sites that buffered the noise quite well. We were able to turn our 28 foot camp trailer successfully at the end of sites E. Greatly appreciated is the path to the beach! I am pretty sure we will return!! read more

The roads throughout the grounds are narrow and full of potholes. They clearly do nothing to maintain the roads or sites. Our trailer was being jostled so badly just driving 5 mph that our hitch started making noises we've never heard it make before. We have a fairly small trailer (22 feet), and it was sketchy driving through even with that. Do not expect a full hook up site (with sewer), because they will all be full; there aren't that many to begin with. And, there is only ONE functioning sewer site in the whole campground of 300 sites!!! We left a night early, because we were so concerned that we would get stuck in a huge traffic jam trying to dump and leave. The roads are so narrow that we couldn't have gotten out if there was a line for the dump site, which there was guaranteed to be. This was the most expensive place we've ever camped and also the worse. We will never go back or stay at another Thousand Trails if this is the way they operate. read more

I'm so disappointed in TT. Such a beautiful spot but the campground really lacks anything functional. It took us an hour to find a spot when we arrived. Most of the open spaces the electric didn't work. Why can't staff tell you which sites are open? This campground was very hard to drive around as most of the roads are narrow. So if you have a big rig.. good luck. Nothing works, I mean nothing. All machines are out of order. The laundry machines work but we couldn't get quarters from the store, welcome center or the machines . We had to drive into town to get quarters... boo! The staff ... friendly but no one is able to help... "they just work here" was the attitude I got. My impression was that there are a lot of full timers here, they have the insider benefits and the rest of us are just SOL. So much for membership I guess. read more

This campground has a great location and some of the spots have a good view. It's less than 10 minutes drive to Cape Kiwanda or you can walk the trail down to McPhillips beach. It is a very hilly campground however. The staff is very friendly and we found that fellow campers were pretty quiet. Pets are allowed. We rented one of the cabins, which was ok. I think it's pretty expensive for what you get but ours came with a bunk bed to sleep 3 and a full bathroom and kitchen. The kitchen had utensils, plates, a stove and refrigerator. There was also a gas grill on the porch. I wouldn't count on the hideaway bed as it was not in very good shape. The bunk beds were fine. I don't think they clean the units that well in between tenants because when we swept ours there was a lot of pet hair left by the previous occupants. There are many amenities on the premises and it's nice to have but none were that great. The pool was a good size but pretty gross with green sludge on the concrete around it. Only one of the showers was working. We did not try the hot tub but please note that kids are not allowed there. Wi-Fi is available only at the family center and it's very slow. This campground provided needed accommodations for us but if you have a choice for about the same price, I'd think twice about spending your money here. read more

Not overly impressed, very pricey for what you do get. It was run down, no cell or wifi service, "cabin" (tiny house) was not very clean. I do not feel that if you are paying over $120 a night you should have to make your own beds, be charged for using those linens, plates and tableware were not for 6, and you will need to clean up the place before you leave. Also you would think that there should get better quality mattresses, ours was basically a taco bed, you sank in the middle, same for the fold out loveseat when not folded out, you sank in the middle. No way this space can comfortably sleep 6 adults as advertised. Yes we were very disappointed, and will not be back nor recommend. read more

I would not return. We paid $120 a night for a yurt but arrived to find we were crammed into the smallest site... and with no privacy from our R.V. neighbors. Port a potties were our closest bathroom option, many of them were full to the brim. There was very heavy R.V. and diesel truck traffic where we were located... so didn't feel safe for kids. The lodge and pool and mini golf were very campy. Haven't been touched in decades. No cell service here. I have a new appreciation for the state and national campgrounds we visit regularly. read more

I would never come here again, nor would I recommend it to anyone else. If you do decide to try it don't arrive at night, finding a spot and parking would be a nightmare. Their literature says they offer "resort style amenities". Spots without sewer, cable, or 50 amp service do not quality as resort amenities based on our camping experiences, and most didn't have those. Their store was only open 3 days which made renting videos or picking up a needed item extremely difficult. When you arrive you're given a map and told to go "pick your spot"; that was a first for us. The campground is hilly and has sharp turns as you drive around looking at spots. Speed bumps were everywhere which made maneuvering slow. Their map didn't give you the size of any spots and the markings at the spots for amps, or cable service weren't clearly marked or marked at all. We tried multiple spots that looked okay but turned out to be too small or too narrow or weren't level. In addition, sites weren't designated as tent campsites vs. for trailers or big rigs. We found tent campers in large sites with 50 amp service they couldn't use which forced us into 30 amp service. If their sites were all clearly marked for appropriate size and usage they could improve the campground significantly. At this park you're basically "on your own". Some of the info you need is in your packet, but generally speaking you don't read all of that until after you're parked and set up. And there is no cell service there so if you end up in a spot without cable (most didn't have that) you're out of touch for the entire time you're there. That is unless you go up to the family center and sit in a room with everyone else that is trying to communicate with people outside the park and use your phone there. On the positive side, it's a nice setting, in a good location, with easy access to the beach. Too bad the sites were so miserable. read more

There are some great aspects of this park and some subpar aspects. Most of the campsites are great and some even offer views of the ocean. We stayed in a yurt which had a nice location, was clean, and comfortable. The hiking path to the ocean was beautiful and the beach it accessed was spectacular. The issue is the status and state of the facilities. Several bathrooms, including the one by our yurt were closed for upgrades. There were no upgrades happening (signs stated they would happen in 2020). Instead porta potties were provided. Not what I wanted after we had been tent camping for 6 days at other locations. The pool and hot tub are in need of upgrades. The showers at the pool were dirty, and only one was working. I would have a hard time returning due to this which is disappointing because their location is beautiful and so close to PC. read more

It kills me to rate this campground so low, but it's well deserved. I started camping here back when I was 5 years old (I'm now 36) and the grounds have slipped and the attitude of most if the staff has slipped. We stayed for a little over a week during the Tillamook County Fair. Pros: check in was quick and easy, the staff at the store (formerly known as the trading post) were extremely friendly and helpful, firewood sales hours were good (though cheaper toward town), pool was warm and they've added a hot tub since I last stayed. They have updated the laundry facilities at the lodge, making "laundry day" quicker and easier. Cons: the rangers that police the sites were pretty rude and confrontational rather than the old days of getting things accomplished by being nice, the grounds (especially the roads) have not been maintained well (some would be hard presses to be passable by lower clearance cars), the paper towels and soap dispensers in multiple bathrooms were routinely inoperative, the showers at the lodge leave a lot to be desired in flow (a trickle) and temperature. Overall, we still had a fair time, and my kids had fun. It just wasn't the same fun family atmosphere as when I was a kid. It's my memories, and sharing those with my kids, that made the trip fun. I miss Mary making breakfast at the lodge!!! ;-) read more

This was our second stay at a TT and our last. Pacific City TT is a total disgrace to the camping community. As we arrived, I noticed the restrooms in the park were closed with numerous porta potties outside. The roads were in bad need of repair and very narrow. It took us 30-45 minutes to find a 30 amp spot that was not a swimming pool of standing water, broken tree branches that needed to be removed in order to park. The heated swimming pool was ice cold, the recreation room had a beautiful view of the ocean and that is about all I can say about it. The outdoor play area was ok but needed a lot of attention to get it back in good condition. We call camping, 'Glamping' in our motorhome because we have all the luxury of our home. Even with the latest and greatest of technology we couldn't get internet, phone or radio. At $50.00 plus a night, one would expect a quality RV camp ground. We have traveled 28 states in two years and this camp ground has to be one of the worst we have been to. We talked with a 2 year TT member that told us that this is the norm for TT camping in Oregon, and they want close to $500 a year membership. I stayed at the Long Beach, Location for just one night. It's there last time I'll ever stay at a Thousand Trails site. It's a huge rip off. I paid $41 for a tent site. The tent site itself was fine. Nice and flat and the grounds are organized well. The one star is because these guys can't even keep the restrooms clean or stocked with toilet paper. When I say not clean I mean really dirty. This place is making plenty of $ and could easily just take care of the basics. read more

I'll start with the positives: -BEAUTIFUL VIEWS! If you're lucky enough to grab a spot at the top tier of the campground, good for you! But if you aren't, you can still see these views by walking around and/ or visiting the Clubhouse. -GREAT TRAILS! You can walk trails all over the property that take you next to and over creeks, old growth and brush where you can see lots of cute bunnies, baby deer and chipmunks. -BEACH ACCESS! The trail to the beach is beautiful and the beach itself is beautiful. Lots of little pools and places to discover and explore. -CLOSE TO PACIFIC CITY! Unlike Whaler's Rest, this TT Park is super close to town. I realize some folks may not like that but ya can't even tell you're a few minutes drive from civilization. Also, me saying civilization is a stretch... Pacific City can't have more than 2k year-round residents. If ya don't want to drive, you can walk South along the beach for a mile and climb the sand dune to Pacific City. Now the negatives and the reasons this TT Park only gets TWO STARS: -TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! WORST WORST EVER!! Every time we check in, every time we stop someone in a golf cart/ gator, every time we're at the store, every time we're at the club house, whoever is the attendant is awful. They act like they just don't want to be there, like they're hungover and miserable. -SOMETHING IS ALWAYS BROKEN!! This last time it was the pool. ZERO notification online, zero notification at the office, no flyers, nothing. They could have at the very least, mentioned it as we checked in. And the three different employees I asked, all had very different answers as to when it would be fixed. -THAT DAMN STORE. Sigh. Sometimes ya just might need a condiment or something, and you wish you could pop into the market. This store is always closed. And it's always something. Inventory (never noted anywhere) or an employee is late or a no-show or the utilities. -TIGHT SPACES. Seriously, one of the hardest parks to back into. It wasn't designed very well. -PARK LAYOUT. Again, not designed very well. The spaces are tight, there's no one there to help you figure it out and the maps are for shit. They need to be updated asap. -ALWAYS SEVERAL SPACES OUT OF ORDER. This makes it even more difficult to find a good spot. It's the water or the electricity. I know we pay a pretty penny to be members and we'd pay MORE if they'd say, "Hey, we really need update these old systems." We will go back to this TT park and that's that but it's because we sometimes camp with a 28ft travel trailer and this is the place to do it in terms of views and access. But I won't be completely happy about it!! read more

Warning Warning Warning!!!!DO NOT STAY HERE! This place looks good as you drive by and in their adds but the place is a huge stinking mess. Let's see, where to start, you arrive and they don't cover much other than telling you that you just drive around until you find an open spot, YIKES! leave before you enter this horrendous maze. please head this warning, driving around is a total nightmare you risk damaging your rig pretty badly. The tiny little pathways they call roads are a huge nightmare. Huge potholes, narrow turns, huge rocks near the road. Be careful this place should be called Thousand Year Old Trails because I'm sure the pioneers coming to Oregon had better trails than the roads in this place. The spots we did see where tiny, cramped together, unkempt and had damaged hookups. Not one was even level enough that our leveling blocks could have leveled our trailer. We drove by one with a trailer in it but it was so cramped the broken picnic table had to be leaned up on end against the cliff that was one of the borders of the site. We got stuck in the maze of poorly marked turns and loops and spent close to a hour hunting for anything the might even pass for a campsite. Also if you aren't a black belt master at maneuvering your rig you aren't getting in 80% of the sites we saw. Since we spent so much time looking both my wife and I had to use the restrooms. Ufghhh they were disgusting and looked as if they hadn't been cleaned or maintained since the place was built. The smell was so bad near the restrooms I was sure the septic field must have overflowed. We left once we were able to find our way out. Please don't stay at this place. read more

I was very disappointed in this campground. We received a trial TT membership after purchasing our trailer and though this looked like a good place to try. We reserved the 60 day maximum ahead of time and when we arrived we were told that they may not have a space long enough for our fifth wheel. Even though we gave the length when we made the booking. Apparently, they do not monitor to ensure that small trailer or tents aren't taking the larger sites making it impossible for those arriving later in the day to find a spot. Well, after driving through the camp ground for a half an hour we found an available spot. It took awhile to fit in and we had to push the picnic table and fire ring into the brush. The camp ground itself could have been nice but clearly hasn't been adequately maintained. We will not return. read more

We reserved this back in June--stayed mid August. We had 4 campsites. We listed out each family member for each site. The check in process was extremely frustrating and difficult. There were fees for people arriving after us-even though we had the number allotted per site and had given names back in June. They were doing their best although they readily admitted they were understaffed. There were no campfire rings or pits or grills in any of our 4 sites. There was no staff up at the pool and hot tub/game area. The lights were off in the indoor pool until 15 minutes before it closed. It was so difficult for the swimmers to see-which is not safe. For $47 a night plus fees, $55 a night total, this was not at all worth the price. A state owned and run campground is a much better value and experience. read more

This is a great campground! It's a membership campground, but you can buy one of their ready go camp memberships for $49 a year giving you access to most of the thousand trails campgrounds. It would be worth it to buy just for this campground as far as I'm concerned. The spaces are large and very private most with full hookups and some with ocean views. They have great ameneties such as an Adult Center, Basketball Court, Beach Access, Family Center, Fire Ring, Food Service, Horse Corrals, Horse Trail to Beach, Horseshoe Pits, Laundry Facilities, Mini-Golf, Nature Trails, Pickleball Court, huge playground, RV Storage, Sanitation Station, Shipmate's Store, Shuffleboard, Swimming Pool, Volleyball Court, Wi-Fi Access. There is also giant bunny rabbits all over the campground that you can hand feed. This is one of the best campgrounds I've ever stayed at. The pool and hot tub as well as showers were kept very clean. read more

I enjoyed our stay here! We are TT members, and I found this park to be very nice. It was a busy weekend for the campground, but was still nice and quiet. We thought the staff were nice, the grounds were great, all the amenities were a plus. But, the only reason I gave this campground 4 stars is because you have to find your own spot, they give you a map that I found to be confusing and a little frustrating, but after driving around we found a great spot on a bluff with full view of the beach. Im not sure if people are looking for 5 star resorts or what, but it's a campground typical of other campgrounds and better than others I've seen and been to. I give this place zero stars! Worst camping experience ever. We are not Thousand Trails members, but were able to stay via our membership in RPI. We were ripped off. The facilities are bad. The sites are not level. Most sites do not have sewer hookups. Most sites are only 30 AMP. The pool was out of service most of the time we were there. The road through the campground is in disrepair. It is narrow difficult to navigate. The worst part is the staff. They are rude and definitely not friendly. The playgrounds are falling apart or out of service. The fields around the playgrounds are full of thorny burrs. Don't let you children play there. If they fall they will be in pain. We talked with some members during our stay. They all stated that since Encore purchase Thousand Trails everything has gone down hill. Encore doesn't put any money back into servicing the campground. We will not be returning to this place ever. I feel bad for the members who are stuck belonging to this place. Get out if you can. Don't buy into this place. You will regret it. read more

Lovely wilderness setting, staff was very friendly and helpful! Pick your own spot park with hundreds of spaces. Only downside was 90% of spaces were no sewer and you had 2 dump stations for almost 250 spaces. Despite that, many activities, mini golf, pool and breakfast on the weekends. Very family friendly! We stayed at the pacific city tt this last week. We have stayed at all the tt resorts in Oregon and some in Washington, and like most tt campgrounds this one is as run down as the rest. The staff was for the most part non existent and unhelpful. While this facility could be very nice if just some upkeep and maintenance was performed. Upon checking in I needed to use the restroom, the one (shared) restroom they had you could not even lock the door! As all tt campgrounds we were handed a map and the rules and sent on our way. The map was not very easy to read and the one direction roads were not all listed on the map, this proved to be a problem while driving around looking for a spot, someone with a large 5thwheel come down a main road the wrong way and ha a backup of traffic for about a hour while trying to get turned around. We finally ended back up in the b loop. The park staff does not at all enforce a speed limit, we found tent trailers in sites that could accommodate 35 foot plus rigs thus forcing the larger rigs in too small of sights, it seemed every other sight had out of order on it, the hot tub was non operational the entire stay, the coin machines were non operational, the small storefront at the clubhouse was not open once that I seen, the gate on the beach trail was pad locked, they had no firewood, just a flat out poor excuse for something that TT calls a RESORT. I'm guessing that Encore is taking the annual dues payed by all TT members and they are sinking the funds into resorts not available to the TT membership. read more

We have been going to this campsite for the past 3 years for the 4th of July. We have been Thousand trails members for 2. I am sad to say this campground is going down hill fast. The first year was amazing they had fun group events, everything was clean, weekend breakfast, the store was fully stocked and the staff was amazing. The next year they had replaced the whole staff and the maintenance staff was and is horrible. Everything was broke, the place was not well kept and things where overgrown. They did however still have events, a store and breakfast. This year they did not have any events, breakfast, the store was closed the whole time and several things had been roped off (trail and play structures, mini golf) they had mini trees growing out of the gutters. I admit we LOVE this campground it is quite and the location is great, we always camp up in loop F at the very back but I would be extremely unhappy if I paid nightly for it. I know going in this campsite is falling apart and what to expect but most do not. This place is NOT worth $70 a night. This year I talked to several people who left early due to the condition of the grounds. I do not understand why Thousand trailer is allowing this place to go down hill it really could be a amazing place. read more

This RV "resort" is absolutely horrible. We tried multiple sites that allegedly had power. They were rusty and broken. Most sites we pulled into were severely tilted. So we broke a leveling jack here as well. The property is poorly maintained and the roads are full of mast ruts. My trailer scraped multiple times just driving around looking for a site with working amenities. I don't believe it is that hard to use a grader or a bobcat to level out sites for easy setup for campers. This is in no way shape or form a decent or even substandard RV park. It's very much garbage. I would not recommend ever staying here or even wasting your time to even check it out. It's disgusting to think I bought a thousand trails membership to stay at a place this horrible. Thank you thousand trails for taking my money and having me spend more fixing things that could've been prevented. Also for people that travel with motorcycles. The road goes from rutted pavement to sloppy loose gravel and deep potholes. It's not worth dumping your bike..... Overall don't stay here keep your money and it's a waste. We are new members of TT and this was our first time at one of their facilities. It was not a great first impression. We arrived late on Friday of an August weekend. The staff at check in were not very helpful and just gave us a map and an idea of where we might want to look for a site big enough for our RV and a tent. The signage in the campground is pretty bad and the map was worse. After the "A" loop, the road goes up a steep, bumpy and very winding road. We drug our 29 foot trailer all the way to the end of the facility and ended up back in the A loop which has the nicest spots in our opinion. Many of the sites have no table or fire ring, but that is because other users have moved them so there are 2 tables and even 2 rings in other sites. Not good on a busy weekend. We also had a third car and it was very confusing on where the overflow parking was. The restrooms and showers were fine however, and overall we had a good time with friends and family. The jury is still out on our satisfaction with TT. read more

This campground has had NO improvements in the last 30 years. RUN from any one that wants you to buy a membership. The roads are awful and spots are very brushy. We are very careful driving and parking but still ended up with $2000.00 damage on our motorhome between the brush scratching the sides and the deep holes in the road which caused our back wheels to go down in the holes and cause the backend to drag and crack the back corner. Also spots are leased so most of the view spots and wide spots are taken. If you get a membership there is no spots left to camp as they are leased. Also stayed at the South Jetty Tand T and the gate came down on our motorhome when entering, which left a bad mark on back side of motorhome read more

This is a beautiful campground that has fallen into disrepair. We received a free pass to thousand trails, its proximity to pacific beach and the ocean has allowed this place to survive without to many updates. The pick out a spot even though you reserved one earlier.makes finding the right size very difficult, if we came in later or late evening we would be screwed . This is not for people that are disabled, I repeat, hilly, no trails worthwhile, that makes walking difficult. The trail to the beach closes at dusk, but does not open till 8 am which makes us early risers whom do not have a extra car to find other ways to get to the beach. The camp sites are pretty, only 40 have full hookups, and they try to give you a feeling of seclusion there is no clean up service, our campsite full of trash, butts. The place is not special, I guess we were expecting something more. We have a year free membership, going to see if it gets any better down south. read more
