Crossing Sandlake Rd is mostly fine, but there's an occasional fast car so best to just be aware. The dune on this access point was way easier :-) The houses are sparkling clean and it's obvious the owners really care. I got to meet Susy and she is a sweetheart who genuinely loves dogs. I love how detailed Susy is with her easy to follow instructions. She leaves nothing up to chance! The new combination lock worked great & I was easily able to create my own personal code. I plan to be back every year!

They really book it out (which tells you the cool little place to stay it is.) I am crazy about cabins and the title says it all - knotty pine walls and it has that vintage cabin feel. Pluses - well, the sunsets from here! The owners seemed to have appointed it well even providing plenty of nice seasoned wood for the fireplace, pretty much everything you'd need in kitchen and this seems like a great place for families to stay with the bunk beds for the kids. It's also pet friendly - how cool is that? But one of the biggest pluses, besides the sound of the ocean from your window and a lovely little deck full of sun on a shiny day :) are the BEDS! Oh my gosh - incredible memory foam mattress topper and really soft high count thread sheets. You don't always get that in a vacation rental. Spent a good part of the day up there reading, with a glass of wine (Okay, a bottle. Who we kidding?). The sunset view is perfect. It sleeps 6 or more I guess. Two Queen beds, a pair of full sized bunk beds, all with real nice mattress toppers. And a super comfy couch, too. The garage is stocked with all the beach paraphernalia you could need including boogie boards, beach chairs and a coupla dozen wetsuits, including YOUR size! The beach is an easy two or three block walk (walking back is uphill). It's GameNight ready. Dozens of games await (Scrabble, Risk, Cards Against Humanity, puzzles, etc). Oceanside is a quiet little town (village? burg?) The Blue Agate (for breakfast and Rosanna's for lunch and dinner are both within walking distance and both real good. Looks like it tends to be booked pretty solid, but if you can squeeze in a couple of days during the week, more power to you.

Other than that it is a great house and hopefully your upstairs neighbors are quite and considerate; unlike ours the first night we were there; (up until 1 a.m. partying). I would have gave 5 stars expect for that, it would have been nice to know they were staying upstairs and that they do not have the same rules that applied to us. You can hear through the floor pretty well....they also had a dog and you know how that goes... bark! bark! bark! Every time you go outside on to the deck. The staff is nice and courteous and you can check out movies from there front desk. They run a good business and i would use them again. I would make sure to stay at a house with no upstairs. And check the coffee maker first to make sure the coffee pot is the correct size. LOL.

Last year we stayed in the Salt and Sea which was a wonderful experience. Knowing that, we returned this year to stay in another place. This place has an incredible view of the ocean as the base of the house sits on the sand. We saw whales and many ships and boats while there. The houses are very nicely decorated and very clean. The price is beyond right as is the attention given by the staff. Thank you again Della for all you did for us while we were there. Water that trickles from the showerhead and runs short of hot pretty quickly. I've slept in more spacious and comfortable tents. No soap. Some people put lodging together in ways that show you they've thought about your comfort. Other people send the message that they don't care about you at all. This place cares less about you than not caring at all. They must actively loathe guests.

It was $10 to buy a bundle of firewood and we enjoyed building a fire outside at our site. This place was definitely a little pricier than some other nearby areas, but in my opinion it was well worth it. The showers and bathrooms were clean and the views of the beach right from the site were spectacular. Give them a shot!

The campground is so run down for the price. There are so many screaming (AND I MEAN SCREAMING) kids in the pool. Are they simultaneously passing out Adderall and sugar cubes for breakfast?
