Actually, their estimate was not the highest of 5 companies, and even better, they locked in my price PLUS price matched equal scope of work. Their materials are quality, and Tyler was the only estimator who took time to discover a foundation crack outside the garage from street creep, and determined the garage is sinking enough to start to keep an annual check on it. This company does amazing work within the community and supports many nonprofits and schools, on top of being founded by outstanding Christians! Thrasher Foundation Repair, took $14,032.56 from two disabled veterans, left our property damaged, and is now using slick corporate loopholes to keep our money. In August 2022, we hired Thrasher to fix sinking concrete around our home. The sales rep convinced us to buy their "clog-free" "Rain Drop" gutter guards so my husband--a 100% disabled veteran--would never have to risk climbing onto the roof again. The rep also left a "jerry-rigged," unfinished downspout wrapped around our chimney before being fired. For four straight years, the concrete work failed. Thrasher sent a different manager to our house every year (2023, 2024, 2025, 2026), each offering a different excuse. Finally, this year, a Thrasher representative told us our concrete warranty was essentially void because our gutters were "insufficient." When we asked why they installed "clog-free" guards on a broken gutter system four years ago, they flippantly told us, "We aren't a gutter company, we just sell the guards." We had to hire an independent company to tear off Thrasher's product. They took shocking photos showing our gutters packed with mud, roof grit, and leaves. The "clog-free" guards were acting like a lid on a trash can. Thrasher knows they are in the wrong--they have offered us a partial refund of $9,200 for the concrete. But they are refusing to give back the rest of our money for the gutter guards because they claim the product "works." They actually told us we should have called them to come out and clean out the gutters. How would we have known this unless we climbed up to check them. We have the contracts and the photos of the choked gutters, with a menagerie of Thrasher's broken promises. My mom was shown a photo of a perfect brand new looking porch, and I asked if hers would look that good. I was told that was exactly how good it would look. It did not. There were lines in it and they sprayed some type of white cap all over it, and it got on the banisters, surrounding brick foundation, and evergreen bushes. read more

Just wanted to share our experience. It made me pick 1 star but if I could, I'd do no stars. Our first house in NE, basement flooded and so I have been probably over cautious with the new house. While I have always heard snide small comments about Thrasher, they've been good to us and did great work on the old house. We have been using them for 17 years. For this house, they have come out yearly the last 7 years, just to check sump pump and perform annual maintenance, we have never had issues. So.....imagine our shock and surprise when they come back with an estimate of $36,000 because "your house is sinking" - the technician used terms "aggressiveness of the cracks, damage, settlement to that right back corner of the house, and active movement" in emails. The "aggressive" cracks that the technician referred to, that are causing "damage" have been reviewed by Thrasher yearly, last done 06/2024, and we were always advised that they are nonstructural and are no cause for concern. The following week, we have had 3 (three) 2nd (second) opinions / estimates completed by 3 separate companies that specialize in waterproofing and foundation repair as well as are BBB (Better Business Bureau) accredited. ALL 3 companies, concluded that absolutely no work needs to be done on our house, that it is not settling (or sinking as the tech verbally said), all measurements are level, there is no interior issues/cracks, and that any foundation cracks that are there, are small/nonstructural and are no cause for concern and they definitely are not aggressive. I spoke to the technicians manager who stood behind the techs assessment and asked me to follow up after we got a 2nd opinion. I emailed the above to him on 6/25/25 with no response. So....I no longer support Thrasher and they have lost a loyal customer. I strongly encourage that if you do support them, to get a 2nd opinion before you sign any contracts with them. read more

They reviewed the work prior to starting to assure we were on the same page and again after completion to make sure we were satisfied with the work. They cleaned up after they finished and answered any questions. All work was completed as expected. Met Thrasher at a home show in Greeley, Colorado. Made an appointment and they came to my home. The man spent about an hour analyzing my problem. I felt like I was getting a decent evaluation. That evening I get a text saying "Thrasher cannot do this work". This is due to a conflict of territory within the dealers. He gave me the name of a totally different company. I explained, in detail, my issues and location when I called to schedule the evaluation. What a waste of my time. Maybe I'm just lucky this happened based on the other bad reviews below mine. Our garage has leaked since we moved here. Thrasher came out about 5 months ago and the representative, Cody, did a "thorough" evaluation (or so he said). He gave us a fancy laptop presentation, took a deposit, and we waited 5-1/2 months due to "scheduling". They came out today, dug out the inside of the garage, then came to the outside, and immediately stopped their work. They said we did not have a concrete foundation on the house, and ...get this.."you will need to call a Foundation Repair Company!" AM I on another planet? Aren't THEY a Foundation Reapir Company? $7000 to raise the concrete to prevent water pooling. Now the problem is worse. A supervisor came out to talk to us. Offered $500 - probably hoping we wouldn't leave a bad review. But not a full refund. Now the problem is worse than before. He said 'That's not what we do. Referring to the problem we were trying to solve. But the sales people said otherwise. High pressure to pay before the work is finished. Don't do it- you will be out the money if they don't complete the work. It makes me wonder if they are bomded and insured. The salesman was great. The people who showed up to do our egress window... Not so much. It started off bad from the beginning when the guy called me grandma. I'm 50 and I suppose there are 50 year olds who do have 16 year old kids but it's pretty rude to assume. Secondly, they broke my kids lighting that he had taped around his room. My son had moved the lights away from the window. so I'm not sure why they felt they needed to rip it down. For $6000, you would think that maybe they would not leave big rocks and maybe push the dirt back. I had really nice landscaping before they started. They told us that we would lose our bushes but I didn't know it would be such a disaster after they left. The guys were not even polite while they were working at my house. It was kind of a warm day so I brought them water twice. None of them said thank you. And when I'm talking to them they either blank stared at me or ignored me. I'm pretty sure at least one of them spoke English but I mean you can be polite for the amount of money your customer is spending. So no, I wouldn't recommend this company. We had Thrasher out to diagnose and bid a project in our basement. After the evaluation they found a couple problem areas. (this was later confirmed by another company, so that was correct.) However the price was unfathomable. I couldn't believe the cost. They do offer 5% discount if you agree that day and put down a hefty deposit. This is when the "Sale"really started. I felt uncomfortable and we ended up asking them to leave to think about it. We ended up going with a more affordable company. read more

The workers were very respectful and did a good job on the work they were able to do. However, I paid for a bunch of work that was never done. I called Thrasher out to fix a concrete patio that had issues with standing water. Josh Brown had said that they could definitely fix the issue. At that time, he upsold me on doing some work on my driveway to fix some cracks and also level everything. The drive way turned out good but not the patio. The workers said they couldn't raise it because the concrete was rebarred to the house. This leads me to believe there was a very poor inspection done initially when the service was sold to me. Would have expected that they would have refunded that portion of the work but they have not even offered a partial refund on that work (that they didn't do). I would highly recommend you seek another company to do your work. I paid 5k+ to solve this problem and it isn't any better than before. read more

He wanted to fix an unrelated section of sidewalk and claimed he couldn't just repair the place we asked him to fix because there would be future problems. Nick and Chuck, ended up walking our house/property line and trying to sell us on things we didn't need but made them seem like big deal. I had Thrasher out to improve the drainage at my house, and did tons of research ahead of time. They immediately told me the previous people's sump pump system was "a mess" and suggested a top of the line sump pump to handle my capacity. Okay, fine that's reasonable enough. I was very _very_ clear about just how much it runs, and have literal hard data from a WiFi-enabled smart outlet to back it up. They tell me that they have to add a second discharge pipe, and that the second one is a "pressure relief". So I was under the impression this would hardly be used. Instead, I get to watch gallons of water pouring into my neighbor's yard constantly. So from my perspective, the top of the line system they installed less than a month ago is malfunctioning. I guess I have to be an expert to check the so-called "experts'" work or they'll screw you and blame you for it. I called and they made me wait two weeks before even sending someone out, who simply threw the original contract back in my face, instantly turning into a surrogate lawyer, and said "we just guarantee it doesn't get into your basement" after assuming an attitude and tone indicating he thought I was insane for thinking their system should work as they advertised to me. Congrats, Thrasher. I guess you got me. I hope it was worth it. The worst part? To actually fix it, it'll cost about as much as yet another sump pump would. They don't care if they actually fix your problem, they'll sell you a $3500 sump pump and then wring another $1200 out of you to actually fix the problem it now creates, after doing a poor job of explaining what they were doing. They do not stand by their work, and I sincerely am starting to question their honesty. Customer service obviously is secondary, tertiary, or worse when you confront a (heavily) paying customer with a legitimate grievance like my guy did, trying to tell me "we can't know how much water is getting pumped" _after_ i told him I have hard data on it. Don't bullsh*t me, Thrasher. From the call through to the visit, I could tell there was no interest in fixing my problem, just in getting my checkbook open again. Now, after spending another $600 to fix the problem they created, the water creates a perpetual swamp in my and my neighbor's yard that is going to kill the grass. I asked repeatedly to have the pipe extended to the curb, but they were _insistent_ that was unnecessary. Now, my neighbor is still not happy with the result, now that it's spring and there's water there all the time, and when he called Thrasher, he was all but blown off by the operator who pretended their headset was cutting out. I guess he and I will have to get together and fix this ourselves! I'm writing this simply in the hope others won't find themselves in the same situation. I thought I had found my regular basement / foundation company, but I guess I'm shopping for a new one. I refrained from posting this review while I was angry initially, but months later, I'm still dissatisfied with the result, and I'm pretty much done with dealing with them unless they want to stand by their work. We had them come out several years ago, although we did not work with them. They do have a sales push (I recall watching a video on a laptop), and I felt the visit was as much about me learning about the company and all of their options as much as it was about my specific problem. I wish we could have cut to the chase. I also did not like the sign-up-with- us-now and get a big discount; this added to the experience of a higher pressure sales visit. Like a lot of companies, they have a particular solution and that will shape how they approach the problem. The solution they proposed was expensive and involved installing multiple sump pumps. This was not incremental, but really selling all of their options to solve a problem. However, none of this was necessary. The solution was actually some simple landscaping. I am glad we did not work with them. I think it is fine to go with the company, but be sure to bring in some other companies that will provide some other perspectives. Granted, they have ulterior motives--and Thrasher does seem to be a popular option--but the contractors I have spoken with also seem to single out Thrasher when it comes to casting shade on other options (take that for whatever it is worth). read more

We have been waiting since Jan 2019 to get this basement fixed, no one shows up. Next when you call them they always try to sell you more services. Definitely not a company I would even consider requesting a bid for a project and when there is a call back the standard answer from this firm is "it's a maintenance issue." The problem is it wasn't completed right the first time . Remember be leary when they give you a bid ....they will say if you sign today we'll give you a discount. I feel compelled to write this review, not to bad mouth Thrasher, but rather to provide information for anyone who might come to Yelp looking for someone to do basement work for them. So, if you decide to proceed from here, this review is solely my experience and my suggestions if you decide to call Thrasher. We recently found water in our basement and called about four places to come out, assess the situation, and make some recommendations. We are still in the process of getting those estimates and so far, we've had two companies come out. Thrasher was one of them. The "sales" person came to our house and was nice enough. But, he was at my house for nearly three hours, walking through the house, outside the house, and administering a 45 minute questionnaire to me. The questionnaire asks you all these questions to which any sane human being that cares about their home and family would answer yes. "Are you concerned with the air quality in your home?" "Is your goal to keep water out of your basement 100% of the time?". Of course, of course. Who isn't going to answer those in the affirmative? However, it just sets you up for the sales person to later justify his tactics by saying "Well, you said you wanted this or that and this product does that for you". It's ridiculous. We learned all about the dehumidifiers they could install for $2100 (which had nothing to do with the actual problem) and the three engine sump pump that is the latest and greatest on the market. All of this stuff is very likely high quality stuff that would ultimately be a good investment long term. I have no doubt. However, I never got the sense he was there to solve MY problem. He was there to sell me as many Thrasher products as my budget would allow. That's why I put sales in quotes earlier because that's exactly what he was at my house doing. Selling me stuff, or trying to. It was a real turn off, to be quite honest. What makes it all the more evident that his intent wasn't to just solve my problem is that I had another company come out and the other guy was at my house for a grand total of 10 minutes and ended up making the exact same recommendation as we settled on with Thrasher: Install a new sump pump on that side of the house. A three hour sales pitch compared to ten minutes to get to the same place. I have no doubt that Thrasher does great work. I've heard enough good things about their work to not question that. But, I didn't like feeling like I was being manipulated and that's exactly how I felt. If you call them, I would encourage you to let them know up front that you don't want all those sales tactics (unless you do). I'm not sure they are capable of just coming in and assessing a problem efficiently but it's worth a try to get through all the B.S. and get right down to the root of your issue. read more

Economics teaches that one of the key ways free markets fail is through so-called 'information asymmetries', where one party to a deal knows more than the other party. If you've dealt with many contractors, you've probably experienced this, in reality or in your imagination - the sinking feeling that you're getting, or will get, screwed over. We called Thrasher for an estimate to fix a corner column on our cement/brick garage, which was suffering from some combination of sinking and disintegration, though it wasn't clear what was causing what, exactly. Their representative came armed with lots of marketing materials and dressed nicely. Those things alone probably should have been a warning sign, as all the best contractors I've ever dealt with are typically covered with something - dirt, paint, oil - ALL the time. He inspected the garage thoroughly and determined - using a laser sight! - that it was sinking, and we would need twenty-six thousand dollars ($26,000.00) worth of piering work to stabilize it. But, we could get a 5% discount, which would save us a whopping $1300! Man, think of all the things I could buy with $1300... What were our other options, we asked? Well, nothing, apparently, if we cared about our garage not sinking into what must be pure sand beneath our property. I pointed out that we could demolish it, and build a new and modern garage in its place for less money than drilling a bunch of pipes into the ground. "Hmph," he said, as if he hadn't considered the possibility. I possess a superhuman ability to put off painful decisions, so we did nothing for a year. I eventually learned that a particular acquaintance did a lot of construction and repair work, so I asked him to look at it. It took him about five minutes. "Both these two cement columns are sinking. We'd demolish them, pour proper footings, form and pour new columns, and install a gutter to deter water drainage here in front, where the sinking is likely being caused by the soil being washed out." "How much will that cost?" "About $4,000." And, actually, that amount included some other work, as well, so it was even less. But I digress. I will admit that this isn't the first review I've started to write vindictively, but it will be one of the first which I finish. I detest the fact that organizations such as Thrasher are out there charging 500%+ more than is necessary because the customer doesn't know. So, let this be a lesson: next time a contractor shows up dressed nicely, don't answer the door. read more

In the summer of 2016 we had Thrasher, level and seal our driveway. After 2.5 short years a cure that should last many, many years is failing. One section of drive is undermined, is settling and cracking. When we reached out to Thrasher informing them of the defect we were told that they were too busy to send someone out to inspect and recommend a cure on what should be a warranty call. They are scheduled to come out to look at the driveway on June 19th. In the meantime rains continue to undermine the section. They are expensive and provide poor follow up service. read more

We struggled with a wet basement and Thrasher completely solved the issue. We went from a wet, 70 percent humidity basement where the dehumidifier ran constantly to one that is, at max 50 percent humidity, fresh smelling, and dry. I am not surprised at all the negative reviews. A few years ago I called Thrasher for a basement water problem. A sump pump to the tune of over $4K was suggested. I then contacted a contractor friend who looked at the gutters and noticed that one had pulled away from the roof just above where the water was coming in. The gutter was reattached and a leaf guard system was installed - NO MORE WATER IN OUR BASEMENT! The Thrasher salesman had not bothered to even look at the roof to see the real problem. Overall, we did like the service we received at Thrasher basement and would definitely call them again, but due to a couple of missteps, I feel that I can only give them three stars at this time. I would love to rate them higher in the future so if we need to call them back I hope to have that opportunity. Like many people in the Omaha area, we had water damage in our basement due to some storms earlier this year. We ended up installing a new sump pump. I appreciated the person who installed our sump pump in regards to the fact that he suggested that we first try this, before making any bigger/more invasive changes and investments in our basement to see if the new sump pump might resolve the water issue. Everything went pretty well, except that one of the pipes leading into the sump pump was leaking water. We called Thrasher basement and had the same person come back, he allegedly fixed the pipe, but after he left it was still leaking. At this point, we were uncomfortable calling the same person back to get everything fixed. We had a new person from Thrasher basement come over who ended up telling us that the piping hadn't been installed as it should have been and he had to redo the segment of the piping that was leaking. The second person who came over did a great job, and everything looks good. Both of the individuals we dealt with were very professional, polite and courteous, nice touches like putting shoe protectors on their shoes as to not track dirt throughout our house. We would definitely give Thrasher a second chance, but wish this experience could have gone a little better. read more

There was water in the basement. We obtained a bid from this company to provide waterproofing. After a little confusion, we accepted the bid and as they requested, sent them a deposit. The next part was the ok part; they arranged for 2 different crews to come out and do two different parts of the job. Minor problem #1 was that they called to reschedule at the last minute. But they did show up at the rescheduled time and do work as promised. Minor problem #2 was that in the process they damaged the wiring and had to schedule yet another crew on yet a later date to come repair that. Not long after the work was completed, it rained. AND THERE WAS WATER IN THE BASEMENT! We let them know, and they sent out another fellow, who told us that the original bid had not included all the work necessary to make the basement waterproof! He gave us another bid for $1600 to complete the work. MAJOR PROBLEM #1: If Thrasher are the experts they claim to be, why didn't they give us a bid for the total amount to waterproof the basement in the first place? Are there really ANY customers who want to pay them nearly $9000 so that the basement might be a little less wet? These were only some of the questions I had about the second bid. MAJOR PROBLEM #2: I tried calling the representative and the company multiple times. I was offered the option to leave a message. But their outgoing message kept telling me that the mailbox was full and hanging up on me. Finally I reached one of them, who told me to send them another deposit. MEANWHILE, they are on-the-spot making threats if we don't immediately pay the balance of the original contract (which I told them I would pay when the project is finished). Yeah, I guess I hired them again. But I wish I hadn't had to. Eventually I paid for and scheduled the SECOND job. And their crew did show up as promised. OK, at this point they got rid of the standing water, but the basement floor was STILL not entirely dry. So then I had to contact them and get them out AGAIN to paint some kind of sealant over the floor and put some stuff against the walls so that damp wouldn't wet and ruin the flooring. I waited a few months to write this and so far it is still dry. Will it stay so? Dunno. But should I have been able to get to this point without so much hassle? Definitely. The Thrasher folks explained their process and spent the time needed to get my comfort level in check. My name is Scott Anderson. Five years ago, we had Thrasher come out and waterproof our basement. They also did structural work and installed an egress window. Everything has worked perfectly with the exception of the EGRESS WINDOW. In five years we have had five failures of the egress. By failure I mean that we got water in through the window. I am at the point of asking them to take the egress out and just put the wall back in. I cannot endorse the Egress Window. Thrasher doesn't seem to have this technology figured out. After spending over $50K on Thrasher, I'm pretty unhappy with all of this. read more

First the salesperson was not knowledgeable about concrete jobs. She knew the basics but her lack of knowledge caused problems and delays. She didn't understand nor was familiar with drainage under the concrete so when the workers showed up they stated I had to find all the piping below the concrete before they could do the job. I had already waited five weeks for their schedule. I then had to find someone to scope and mark drains. Then I had to rescheduled for another five weeks out. After the scope, a new crew showed up to do the job, they were rushed and didn't understand the job( it was obvious they didn't speak to the first crew about the job) so they only completed another 1/3 of the job. They said they would come back later in the week, but then I got scheduled another five weeks out. I finally told them I can finish the job with another contractor. They collect money as they go. I assume it is because they never finish jobs. I would suggest you tell them you are not paying them until the job is done. It will probably take 16 weeks to make it happen so at least you can gain interest on your money while they figure out how to finish your job. read more

Thrasher did magic on our house. After buying our house in November and finding that the foundation was a hot mess, they were amazing. From dealing with Tony who helped us find out what needed to be done and going through it step by step. Then Mike (project manager) and his team came to repair the wall in just a couple of hours! They walked me through what the process was going to be and after they were done, it was like they were never there!
