What I needed at the time was a handyman for a couple of repairs (roof leak, broken bifolding door, loose door threshold, broken blinds, and a noisey fan) and one that was available on the weekends. I do completely agree that this company was very responsive indeed and also very fairly priced. From the moment I reached out and explained my problems, Mr. Ivey asked for pictures and was available to come out that weekend. He called the day before to confirm what time he would come as he told me he would. He also gave me a ball park quote for the items I needed repaired at the house. Some gotta give will for sure be my number 1 go to handyman for my homes needs. They also provide a range of other services as shown on the business card (handyman, HVAC, hauler etc.)

I attempted to unlock the doors of one of my vacant renovations and found that none of my keys…read moreworked the knob lock. I was trying to beat the freeze snap that came about this week and rather than destroy the lock with a pair of large channel locks....and hoping not to destroy the metal door wood matrix filler....I found D&K Lock and Key in Yelp and made contact within 10 minutes of posting. Arrangements were made for the owner, Daniel Barber to come out yesterday afternoon to perform a lock out service as well as rekey the exterior locks. The total cost for the service was more than reasonable rather than buying new locks along with gaining entry into the house. Not that I peeking over Daniel's shoulder to steal any trade secrets...but watching an expert at work to gain entry without and damage to the door or wear and tear on the knob lock was something to watch. Within the hour of his arrival, he was done...having rekeyed all of the dead bolts and knob locks. While he was in his truck, I turned on the furnace for the upcoming freeze for the next few nights; checked on a few things that need to be addressed and ready to return with tools and materials to start re-vamping the house. Response time was outstanding. Professional lock out service was also outstanding. The value of the work and total savings given the alternative made for a good day on the jobsite. Thanks to Yelp and their client contacting services....that task was completed in record time and still on schedule. Thanks to Daniel Barber and D&K Lock & Key for not only being on time and on quote....but he's a good Christian man that I would trust on any job.

Where do I start! I should have known this was not off to a good start when the lady who called to…read moreconfirm the job, was very short over the phone! 1st. When the ladies came to my home, they did not introduce themselves. Just came to the door and said; Locksmith and proceeded to enter. I had to ask her name before entering fully in my home. Not very professional, introduce yourself before walking into someones home! Her overall vibe was not very welcoming and I'm using your business, more-so short and dismissive. 2nd. They gave me a quote over the phone of 1 price(did not state starting price). Once they started rekeying the locks, they then told me it'll be more for deadbolts, which should have been said UPFRONT!!! Once the job was completed, I get a way higher bill than expected with fees they did not tell me before completing the job. Their is a credit card fee and a disposal fee! What the heck is that? I informed them I was not aware of an extra $90 charge plus the extra for the deadbolts?? I agreed to the up-charge for the deadbolts via they already started, but they left out the other fees. They should have said this upfront and given the customer the option to proceed or not. I end up calling the main number and asking for a manager b/c I was not made of these extra hidden fees. The owner, Mr. Hines stated these are legit fees, but since I was not made aware, he would discount the additional fees by said price. I'm not trying to get something for nothing, and only wanted this company to be fair. On top of them not rekeying all of my locks for as much as they charged me! 3rd. The lady that did not introduce herself coming into someones home, started recording me w/out my permission. Like why are you recording me? I'm not here to dispute anything. I told her that, yet she steady recorded me in my home. Like what are you recording, me or my home? Considering your profession (locksmith) this makes me very uneasy and I'm going to contact the BBB and my local authorities in the event anything happens. You should NEVER RECORD SOMEONE IN THEIR HOME WITHOUT PERMISSION! As a professional service, these fees should be said upfront! I will not recommend this company. Maybe their service was a one off, but the recording of a customer in their home does NOT sit right with me.
