I let her know that I didn't want my eyebrows to have a high arch (they naturally have high-ish arch and every other threading/ waxing place has given me thin and high arches). Before coming here, I would always just get my eyebrows waxed- I honestly was very scared to try threading. I never would've came here if I hadn't come along with my friend one time.. it wasn't very busy so they were able to take us in fairly quickly. My friend went first so I watched, the way they work that string is magical and so effortless. She said between waxing and threading, she'd choose threading any day.. so there I was, sitting in the chair awaiting my turn. Their prices are cheap, and I liked how they had options to darken your eyebrows (I never knew you could get that service at a threading place). I've been here 3 times, and I love how it comes out every time. When they darken my eyebrows, I'll ask for "natural"- although it comes out a little dark at first, after a few days it'll come lighter, this way it lasts longer. When they're busy; they still won't rush their work with you, even though many places would do that. They take their time and really make sure you're comfortable and like how it turns out. She saved my brows, I had a bad brow job done a few years ago and had been trying to grow them out for awhile, Samira was the first one to clean up my brows while leaving the spots that needed growth alone to continue to grow so they looked somewhat decent in the mean time. I've been going to her for about a year now and she still makes sure to look at the same picture of my brows (a picture of how I like them) just to make sure she remembers and can get them just right. She's also so great at discussing what you want before doing anything and she'll stop mid way to make sure you like what's going on or consult you on if you want something done a certain way. Normally I'm a huge fan of Samira's work, so this review isn't necessarily about her. But there has been a new person there who took care of my brows since Samira wasn't there. I'm usually really open to new eyebrow technicians, but I'm just not a fan of the job this woman did. My brows seem patchy and uneven. They don't look cleaner than when I first walked in. I feel like a patch of hair is missing from an area I told her to be careful about because it's somewhat thin. I'd like to keep coming here, but only if Samira can do my brows. Not only is the price excellent (only $10!) but the quality of work is the best I have ever had. She took the time to ask questions and was meticulous with her work. Samira does a great job. She's very sweet, polite and makes you feel comfortable. This is a small spot but that does not take away from the experience at all. This is not the place to go to if you are looking for a spa. This is a low-key place. You get in and you get out. With that being said, if you do end up waiting a little bit, Samira is kind enough to provide you with a few amenities. There is a couch or chair to sit and wait. She usually has some chocolates in a bowl and even provides free wifi for her clients. With the little space she works in, she's done a good job with the space. This is my go to place and I really wouldn't go anywhere else unless I really have to. Now for the actual experience. I've been coming to see Samira for a few months now. I've had both good and bad experiences. The bad experience omits the great ones here. I will tell you why.... I came in here one day with my eyebrows on. What does this mean? I drew in my eyebrows. I'm pretty sure I was at least a week overdue for my clean up. Samira asked how I wanted my eyebrows threaded and I told her just a clean up. She did exactly that. She cleaned them up, right around my horrible make up job!! Well, when she gave me the mirror I thought they looked even but that's because I thought a good job with my own eyebrows. When I went home and washed my face that's when I noticed the unevenness. I was honestly a little upset. She was always so good at cleaning up my eyebrows and this was not a good job. I had to wait a little bit to go back and see her. When I went back I had make up on again. I asked her nicely to remove it before she started. I told her about what happened and she was really apologetic about it. I told her, honestly it wasn't her fault. My makeup abilities aren't wonderful and I should have asked her to take the makeup off. All the other times I had her thread my eyebrows I didn't have any makeup on. I'm sure she didn't want me to leave looking strange without any makeup on my eyebrows. She listened, took off the eyebrows and did a great job with fixing the problem. Samira took the time to make sure I didn't leave there looking crazy AGAIN! Now I will only go back to her. She really won over my loyalty. The best thing about a business is when you acknowledge your clients and care about them. Nothing is perfect anywhere but being able to "try" to correct it, I will always give 5 stars for that. I'm normally a waxer because I find eyebrow threading too uncomfortable but I don't know what she did because this time I wasn't squirming in my chair hoping it would just end. I felt at ease. I was in and out in about 5 minutes with fabulous looking eyebrows. Location- very hidden. I was actually looking up PNC bank on broad st. on google maps because I was heading there and noticed a place called "The Threading place" on the gps map in the same plaza. It's in a small building with no signage whatsoever indicating there is an eyebrow threading place inside. I just knew it was inside from the building number. There is also a dentist office and a dog spa in the building. Overall I'm happy I found this place and recommend it. $10 for eyebrow threading. read more
