Booko Brothers responded as soon as the tree was removed to secure the roof, finishing just ahead of the next torrential rain, which would have likely destroyed our home. They were instrumental, over a 3 month period, in facilitating a reasonable insurance settlement for us. They were powerful and productive advocates for us with our insurance company. The work they have done for us in restoring the structural integrity of our 100+ yr old home and rebuilding the interiors has been exceptional. They are dedicated and brilliant problems solvers! Old homes are quirky and always difficult to renovate - nothing is level; nothing is plumb. But when severely damaged, they can feel impossible! Their team has approached each problem with what can only be described as a real zeal for finding clever solutions to weird problems. It's not just their attention to detail that is noteworthy, but also their attention to the things WE care about. This was not just a rental property to us, it had been our family home and held much memory for us. They treated our sentimental issues and needs with sensitivity and a real commitment to accommodate us. We are very grateful to have had them walking through this difficult season with us! I finally got an appointment set up and the guy showed up 30 mins. early while I was on a call. He then left and I had to call back to see if we could set up another time. When the rep called me, he explained that they can't work with us because we have 8" gutters. Apparently, they do not have access to 8" gutters, and I was told they didn't have the equipment to install them anyway. They can only do 6" gutters. Maybe I am wrong, but I would have thought that would simply require a different size wrench if anything. Anyway, it very much seemed like they just did not want our business.

I first attempted to contact Advantage Roofing in October of 2021 for an estimate on a new roof. I…read morewas promised that someone would show up and provide an estimate in an email the following week or so but that never happened and I called the company back a few more times with no avail. I felt like they didn't want my business but my neighbors used them so I tried a few more times and finally got Jessie Cunningham and his side kick to show up for an inspection and provide me a proper quote. Here is the email I got from Jessie after he send me a quote: "Hello Trevor, I was just thinking about you and wanted to touch base with you to see if you or your wife had any questions and to see where you are in the decision making process for the roof project. I am here for you to be your project partner and want to do anything I can to make the project work for you. Let me know, Thank you" Pretty nice follow up. I was taking some time to talk to the wife about his $20k quote and thinking about it and replied with this: "$20k is way more than I thought this project would cost. I'm going to have to check around to see what others in my community paid and do some comparisons before I pull the trigger." To my surprise Jessie rudely responded: "No problem, that price is technically only good for 7 days anyway do to price increases. I understand wanting to check around for a cheap roofing company and I know we are not cheap so I am not offended if you can't afford us. I just wanted to stay in communication so I didn't leave you feeling like you weren't taken care of. I know you were persistent about getting a quote right away so I'm glad I could make that happen for you atleast. You should have no problem finding a cheap company cause there are many of them out there but please let me know if you need any assistance in the future." My response: "There are many things in life that I won't go cheap on and buying a new roof on my home is not one. I don't intent on going with a "cheap" company. Honestly I was going to use your company but after your insulting email I'm definitely not. Just because I have a budget in mind doesn't mean I'm too poor to afford your prices. And who the hell would want a "cheap" roofing company on a house in this neighborhood anyway? So sorry to waste your precious time coming out for a quote. I made the mistake and thought you were a honest and reputable company but clearly after your insulting email I was wrong. Do yourself a favor and take some courses in customer service. A year ago we had them build a 10x65 addition on our house so my handicapped spouse wouldn't need to use stairs to the basement . The new roof on the addition leaked inside; they redid it. It leaked again; they redid it. While they finally fixed the inside leaks after 3 attempts, a year later the new roof is still leaking into the eave. Their ONLY solution is for us to pay to put on a metal roof, which they offered to put on. Being retired and on a fixed income, that's not a viable option, so we're stuck with a brand new leaking roof. Each time the roof has leaked it's never their fault, and that's how it ended. It's not their problem. They said we signed a waiver of liability for the roof, but that was on a separate contract for another roof repair before we realized what was going on. I will NEVER use Adam Garland Construction for anything again.
