The concession prices made up for the cheap seats. I paid $16.50 for a medium popcorn and 2 medium sodas. I only paid $10 for us to see the movie. The theatre was incredibly uncomfortable as if the heat were on. It was about 72 degrees outside and felt like 90 degrees inside watching the movie. I definitely would have paid more $$$$ for my ticket if it meant the theatre had air conditioning. I like the town of Antioch it's a cute town. I was even excited that this little theatre was showing Top Gun Maverick since it had recently came out. Next time I'll wear short sleeves with shorts not jeans if it's warm outside.

Or nachos. Or candy. Or if later in the day, a drink at the bar. The movie volume is not excessive. The reclining seats work. And the bathrooms are stocked and clean. It's cool because they have enough kiosks so that you can just buy your tickets very easily. Then all the theaters are upstairs, which is great, because it feels private and quiet and chill. One of the key points about this theater is that there are unusually wide rows, so the seats are nicely distributed from front to back. It felt more spacious than other AMC locations. Lastly, parking was a breeze. I think there's a lot less traffic here as the mall scene has declined over the past 10 years. I'm on the A-List, so I'll be back!

It's an intimate venue, with narrow little seats, and a relatively steep decline down the aisle to seats, but Im old enough to have problems with this sort of thing. The flip side to this is that all seats have a good view and excellent sound. Free parking in back, and a lovely park to have a picnic supper before the show.

You can take the Metra and hop right off at the fest. It ran Friday night, Saturday & Sunday over an August weekend. There is free parking & free admission, ah how I love 'Burb fests. Plus they don't have a bunch of weird carnival vendors carted in. The food was all from local Highland Park restaurants. Loved that! In the art portion, they had 260 artists selling their stuff ranging from classic to unique to sculptures. Saw a lot of cool stuff I wouldn't have minded purchasing. There was a stage with live music! Loved that and so cute seeing the little kids bopping around. We really enjoyed the entire fest and wouldn't hesitate to go back!

A small festival but packed with people, well organized and great atmosphere! We went there during the evening after work (5pm) and unfortunately, the art vendors were closing down already. The art festival should run till late as well, for this is the time most people and family can make it there, especially in summer/fall time when the sun is still up. Nevertheless, we were there for the food. Even though the vendors were few, they were good quality vendors and this is what counts. Many festivals would only have budget vendors wtih food that you don't really wanna try. But these were the renowned restaurants in Highland Park and it was just a good opportunity to see their menu and taste them. My favorite was Siam of Ruby. We've heard of them but never been their restaurant. We tried their curry and it was SOOOO good! The curry was fragrant and had a good kick. The band was a good choice too. Not too folky, not too disney, not too heavy-metal, but a great selections of songs that was fast paced, high energy, and doesn't ruin your ears. Simply a quality band that connected well with the crowd including children! These are what sets Highland Park's festival apart from the rest. The attention to details and the thoughtfulness! This was my second time visiting Realm of Terror after not going for at least nine years, and this…read morevisit was by far my favorite. They have definitely upgraded the space, and the thrills, haunts, and creativity were simply amazing. We arrived around 6:45 p.m. to catch all the characters coming out for their haunted parade, which really set the tone for the night. We got in within about 30 minutes using the regular line without having to pay for express or VIP. I went with just my husband, and it was definitely creepy navigating those dark, tight spaces with plenty of jump scares and eerie visuals. When you think you're done, you quickly realize you're only halfway through. The group ahead of us even bowed out through an emergency exit, but we were troopers and made it to the end. Even after finishing the long maze, we found ourselves wanting more because the adrenaline was still pumping. Huge kudos to the team for creating such an unforgettable experience. We will definitely be back.
