The restaurant atmosphere is so fun and vibrant and interesting. We did not find the food and service to match that atmosphere. Our server was short with us. No smiles. He seemed irritated for us to be ready to order. The fresh squeezed brunch orange juice was super acidic and not sweet at all. Egg sandwich was a mess of heavy mayonnaise with unmelted cheese and one egg. Breakfast smashed potatoes were not smashed and not crispy. The gazpacho was enjoyable and the sweet potato salad redeemed my meal. It was really delicious. I am not sure I would dine here again, but will continue to shop at their attached store Leon and Lulu. read more

This place is so vibrant inside, reclaiming what it used to be in the era it existed in (a small movie theater). I met a friend here for brunch and it's very old-school diner-like inside. It's really cool and vintage! I got a very delicious breakfast sandwich and a mimosa. The sandwich on a brioche bun and two thick turkey sausage patties was very tasty and filling! Brunch with my sisters and Aunt was very good. Coffee cake was warm and cinnamon-y. The cornflake French toast was vey good - crunchy and not overly sweet. The "I could have made this at home" breakfast was good. Soup flight - she said it was okay but the mushroom soup was lack luster, pretty bland. Chilaquiles was good. Large portion too And the chicken tenders sans the waffle was kind of disappointing- pretty much looked like they came out of the frozen food section. Enjoyed brunch here with a good friend of mine. We made reservations, which was such a nice change for a brunch spot. Being able to sit right down instead of waiting was a huge plus. I ordered the chilaquiles and we shared pancakes. The flavors were great, but everything came out cold, including the chorizo. That said, I would absolutely give it another try, as it felt more like a timing issue in the kitchen than a reflection of the food itself. The atmosphere was amazing. Everything was beautifully arranged, and I loved how the space used vintage pieces in an eclectic way while still feeling modern and fresh. Overall, a nice spot. Started with the mushroom bisque which had good taste, but unfortunately came out not hot at all. Unfortunately we had to ask for it to be heated up. Then we shared the "I could have made this at home" which was eggs, bacon, and "crispy mashed potatoes". We assumed everything may have been pre made ahead of time and just ready in a buffet style manner because our bacon nor the potatoes were hot either. This place is so cute and quirky. I love the decor and how it all is mismatched. Our server was really good and she checked in just often enough. She helped guide us when we had questions on the menu and made for a great experience. To the food...the bourbon flatbread was the perfect balance or sweet and savory, and the dough was cooked perfectly to hold the toppings. My only complaint was the platter it was brought on. It was too small and when bits of food fell they loaded all over the table since the board barely held the flatbread. The smash burger was juicy and the sauce on it made the burger! I got the rigatoni bolognese and the pork Milanese, both of which were super flavorful and delicious. What a cool idea for a restaurant! Three Cats is adjacent and related to Leon & Lulu's. It's kind of a store front but with tables for dining. I'm in a group of women that goes to restaurants starting with the next letter of the alphabet each month. So when the waiter asked what brought us in, we explained that to him. He thought it was a great idea! Most of us ended up ordering the same thing: Chicken Champagne . It was lightly breaded chicken breast on a bed of pasta with a lovely mushroom and champagne sauce. We all liked it. The other two women, who ordered other things (one had the short ribs and the other had a salad) also enjoyed their meals. The only thing missing to me was that everything is a la carte; no bread or accompanying salad/soup comes with the entrees. For $23 and up, I would expect that at least one of these things would be included. Still, the food, atmosphere and service were quite good, and i would definitely return should the occasion arise. read more

This place was fine. I would say it is not little kid friendly. The brunch menu is very limited for kids and even the coloring is paint markers that rub off very easily. The food was okay. The chicken was perfectly fried and juicy. The french toast is also worth the try - it is crusted in corn flakes which is such a unique and yummy take on your average french toast! First things first, ambiance! Super unique, vibey spot that feels like an amalgamation of old timey theater, drive-in, circus, cowboy western, and one-of-a-kind home goods store. Oh yeah, and cats. (Don't miss next door Leon & Lulu for an actual super unique furniture/home goods/clothing store.) Sounds wildly eclectic, and it is, but in a way that works really well together and is very fun! Now, the food. Split a handful of dishes in a group of three. We ordered: - Soup Flight (a flight! of soup!) with Mushroom Bisque, Butternut Squash soup, and the soup of the day, a Roasted Red Pepper Tomato. Adorable concept, but honestly I say skip the flight and just go with the Mushroom Bisque, a clear standout. So savory and umami, and lightly creamy, with a velvety thick texture. Loved this. - Beets Napolean Salad. Tasty! Less beets and more green salad in this dish, but the golden and red beet combination with the goat cheese and balsamic was very good. Green salad, green apples completed the plate. - Wild Mushroom Flatbread. MY FAVORITE of the evening! Three Cats really knows how to make mushrooms yummy. This was SO good, with creamy lightly tangy boursin and truffle oil. An umami flavor punch on a warm, soft, doughy base. - Lamb chops with garlic honey, mint, and a sweet potato dauphinoise. Lovely presentation and good chops, but maybe not the best sharing dish, as there isn't much meat to go around. Was a little iffy on the sweet potato, felt like it wasn't cooked enough through with thin layers of still lightly crunchy potato. - Risotto with slow simmered tomato, crispy prosciutto, parm reggiano, herbs, and "love". This was delicious! Loved the bursting tomato flavor in this, and risotto texture was perfect. Maybe slightly salty, but overall really enjoyed this. Don't sleep on the drinks! I ended up getting a "Cattail" (mocktail/non-alcoholic) because it sounded so good and it WAS. The My Girl drink with cucumber simple, lime, sweetened condensed milk, and soda was delicious and ridiculously drinkable. I could've chugged it down in 3 seconds flat if I weren't actively exercising self control to not do that. Think this is something I'm going to have to try to recreate at home immediately. So light, refreshing with the perfect touch of creamy sweetness. Finally, service was lovely and easy parking is available on site (we parked in the alley next to the restaurant, but there's on street parking available as well). read more

Unique! the place used to be roller skate rink/Clawson theatre revamped into restaurant and store. It is like a museum inside. I rarely care about the ambiance but this place really goes above and beyond in terms of their attention to detail. On each table there is a roller skate. After ordering food you can walk around and peruse the different artistic figures of which there are many (see my photos). I can't say there is a pattern of theme to these decorations but it makes every corner very interesting to explore. As for the food, we got the French toast, chicken and waffles and tostada. We were told they introduce new items frequently and that the tostada was their new item, and was better than the eggs benedict. We decided to give it a try. The plate was small, but artful. There was chorizo and bean paste for protein, crunchy tostada, and an avocado sauce which was delicious. It did not disappoint. The French toast was good but tasted something out of a state fair. It was fried and crunchy. Good, but not healthy and certainly not what I think of for french toast (which is warm and soft). But the kid loved it so that counts right? The chicken and waffles was delicious. Crispy chicken paired with sweet waffles with slightly sour strawberries, with added maple syrup. All dishes were made well. I think I would be back for their dinner or other brunch items. However, service was sub par. 1 - I had to ask for to order. They seemed to have forgotten about us after giving us a table. 2 - We ordered the mushroom soup which we were excited to try given it was a popular item however they didn't make it. We weren't charged for it but they totally missed that item. 3 - The waiter didn't come back after serving food for drink refills. So ambiance and food was great, service could better. read more

My boyfriend and I just moved to Clawson. On Friday night, we tried three cats and it was beyond what we could've imagined. The staff was super friendly. When we got our food, the host (Sandy) walked around the restaurant trying to block the sunlight from hitting my face during sunset. I noticed right away and she was scrambling around trying to make me more comfortable, it was beyond any other person at a restaurant would do. Such a beautiful and wonderful place. So many things to look at and enjoy and the cards along the wall are freaking hilarious. Food is absolutely delicious. The only reason there are four stars is because the sizes of the dishes are a bit small for the price, but everything was fantastic. Also, very handicap accessible loved it. read more

I've been to Three Cats several times and it has consistently kept me satisfied. I typically bring my 90 year old mother for brunch. The ambiance is fun with lots of cool eclectic decor. The greeting cards on the wall are unique and hilarious. It's easy to get my Mom in with her walker and have a conversation without it being too loud. Don't get me wrong... it's not full of a bunch of seniors. I've taken friends and family too. Still a cool place to meet for a laid back meal and drinks. The quality of the food and service is great too. You can visit the gift shop after your meal too - they even have home furnishings there too. read more

My friends and I went for brunch on Sunday. The decor was charming, I love the fact they are linked with Leon & Lulu. When I see crafts and art in a setting, it's candy to my eyes. You will need to call in for a reservation because it can get packed, but the lady was able to fit us in because most of us travel 30+ minutes to experience this place. For the main dish, French Toast (cornflake-crusted and Crispy Fried Brioche, Fresh Berries, Powdered Sugar, and Maple Syrup) was so good and not too heavy. It was a good pair with my latte. The only downfall is the prices. From what you get, it is not a reasonable amount. If there was one side, then the prices would make sense. Overall, it was an experience we wanted to enjoy together. Stopped to try this converted old theatre into a restaurant and eclectic antique store for lunch. It's reminds me of an upscale version of a Cracker Barrel from a visual aspect. Tried the "tour off soups". WOW all three were amazing. The pumpkin bisque had a nice pop of nutmeg with a nice sweetness from the pumpkin. The mushroom bisque had a nice puree texture and wonderful rich flavor. It's been a while since I've visited, so I was excited to return to Three Cats for brunch this morning! Service overall was pretty slow, we were here for just over 2 hours. When we had ordered, the food came out super quick but since then, we never saw our waitress, my water never got refilled, and it got to the point we had to flag someone down to get us our check. I ordered the crab benedict and I would not call that a crab cake, there was hardly any breading to hold it together it just 99% crab meat. The poached egg on top was overcooked -- the yolk was completely cooked through instead of runny like a Benedict should be. Overall a bit disappointing from what I remember the last time I visited probably in 2023. I will say I highly appreciate the parking lot addition they put in around the back! Ambience and friendly, attentive service were the highlights of the dining experience. Five stars here. Overall, our dinners were well plated and sounded interesting, but lacked the flavor, heat and texture we were expecting. Three to four stars but definitely not five. I had the mushroom risotto with scallops added for $8. The tiny pile of teeny-tiny scallops were flavorless and not worth $8. The risotto was not hot or creamy enough and the mushrooms were tough, lacking flavor. It sure looked pretty though. My husband enjoyed his pork chop though initially felt the applesauce was too much. He scraped it off his meat then went back and ate it separately, saying it was really good. The potatoes were good and his pork chop was tended. Our daughter said her flat iron steak was very good, though the dish was thick in a dark brown gravy. In my opinion, the crispy brussel sprout appetizer was the most delicious. By contrast, the mushroom soup was pretty, but wasn't flavorful, creamy or hot enough. Initially my husband rated his entree a five star. When the bill arrived, he was surprised. Our tab came to $165 with tip (no drinks or dessert). The photos for brunch look yummy and I assume the price would be more reasonable. My recommendation is to skip the dinner and come try the brunch. read more

Wonderful brunch! I really enjoyed eating on the outside patio. I had a mock tail/cattail called Coyote Ugly and it was fabulous! The black berry syrup was not available so we substituted it with blueberry syrup and it was delicious. I had two of these refreshing drinks. I ordered the Benedict and I loved it. A bagel on the bottom, topped with wilted greens, asparagus, green goddess crème fraiche and perfectly poached eggs. Normally I find asparagus to be a strong, overwhelming flavor but not with this dish. Everything blended perfectly and was delicious. It was served with a side of potato hash and they were the best breakfast potatoes I've had in a long time. Inside is very large, has really cool decor, and fun merchandise. Excellent and friendly service. Private, free parking lot. I look forward to coming back for dinner. read more

Brunch is really the best way to try this place. Been here for a couple of brunches and a couple of dinners, brunch is always good while dinner is hit or miss. I ordered eggs over easy and they came out perfect. Paired with ham and toast, very good meal. Others enjoy their mushroom souffle and beet salad. But it was the chocolate mousse with berries that was the reason many of us came. The creme brulee is also good. Prices are higher than most places and that is the draw back. It was over $30 for my meal. This is a treat not a regular place. read more
